I was previously using Tech-7's and decided to step up to the Tech-10's for more ankle support. My Tech-7's are broken in and very comfortable, but my ankle still shifts some while riding. When I first unboxed the Tech-10's, they were noticeable heavier, about 3 lbs so I was like "no way, these feel like concrete bricks". After wearing them around the house for a while, I noticed that even though they are heavier, they are very balanced and not as rigid out of the box as the 7's. They have an inner-boot that you pull out and put on first, it's like a boot inside of a boot, so the ankle shifting problem was fixed instantly. Apparently Alpinestar has the patent on this, and no other company offers this feature. The buckles feel beefier and better made on the 10's. There is also more support on the outside around the ankle than the Tech-7's. I feel more secure and protected wearing the Tech-10's. I already love them and I havent even ridden with them yet, just from wearing them around the house and garage I can already tell how awesome these are!
