A little disappointed

I just got back into riding last year after a 20 year hiatus, so I didn't want to spend a lot of money on gear knowing I might not stick with it. Well, a year later I hooked again and plan on sticking with it as long as my body is able (I'm in my 60s and retired now). I originally purchased some IRC Corona boots and have been happy with them except the buckles can be a challenge to latch/unlatch. My grandson has started riding and need some boots, so I took this as a great opportunity to give him my ARCs and upgrade my boots. I settled on the Tech 7s based on recommendation from friends and online reviews. I have to say that the boots are comfortable and well made with high quality materials. The buckles are night and day better than the ARCs. Sure they are better, but for the extra $280 I cant see that you're getting a whole lot more. So for me, they are a good product but overpriced when compared to some other options.

Have only worn them around the house a couple different times so far. Trying to make sure there no issues and the fit is good.I usually were a size nine in work boots and casual shoes too but have always worn a size eight in Alpines Stars. When I got these they felt a little snug so I wanted to wear them around the house a bit to loosen them up some. They have loosened up and are feeling good. Walking in them is easier than any other motocross boot I have worn.No popping noises and no squeaking that I can hear.I think they are going to be great.

Couldn't be happier with these, even coming off Gaerne SG-10's. At first I was worried the toe box was too tight, but after walking around a bit, they loosened up just enough. I have marginally wide feet, and these are fine.Fit, comfort, and protection are first rate. Very first ride and had no break in issues, or trouble shifting or braking.Size 9's weighed exactly 3.75 pounds each on my scale, a full pound lighter than the SG-10's (each)! As long as these hold up in the long term, these are my new go-to boot.

Awesome blend of comfort, protection, and feel
5 October 2021

To justify my 5 star, take into account what I was looking for: a combination of comfortable, protective (but not absurdly hard or stiff), toe box wide enough to accommodate a somewhat wide foot. All that said, these things are super nice.OVERALLThey're comfy out of the box, they feel sleek and have great peg feel, the latches are solid and easy to use, the toe box is very good on the levers. Basically if you want great feel, comfort, and maybe a 8.5/10 on protection with others maybe being a 9 or 10/10 but sacrificing feel or comfort, then go for these. Also great for wider toe boxes.SIZING NOTEOne thing to be aware of is that for me they def run large. Also great for wider toe boxes.SIZING NOTEOne thing to be aware of is that for me they def run large. I am almost ALWAYS a size 12 or even 12.5 in regular shoes and an 11.5 in athletic shoes where I like my toes crammed up on the end with about half-pinky width of space (soccer, tennis mainly). In these I tried a 12 and 11 and even the 11 had a forgiving amount of space with thick socks on. Felt no pinching width wise either. 11s run great but I'm happy I tried on in person. Also my buddy who has even wider feet got an 11 too and he was surprised they fit better than the 12s.NITPICKSNitcks the buyer should probably ignore but RMATV/Astars could take into account to make them 6 stars:-I wish you could go even tighter on the latches sometimes. The way the latches are designed makes them stop at a certain point....maybe not necessary, but there could be a slightly better design?–a little bit harder plastic protection below the ankle bone on the flat part of the inside of the foot (I took a spill and the peg landed on there and punctured through. Seems like a common area for pegs to crush in on during crashes. I will say that the boots did the job for one impact and my ankle/foot took no damage and the weight of the bike landed mostly on that zone.

Cool weather dual sport excellence
17 February 2023

Wore these boots for 10k miles from Denver to Tuktoyaktuk and back. They have a few drawbacks but are great boots overall. In my experience they are substantially waterproof. Standing in a stream will cause a bit of leakage but in the cold rain my feet stayed warm and dry. However, my feet would bake in the heat. Wearing black, waterproof boots in the desert on a hot day is fairly torturous. Would not recommend these above 80 degrees. They also make a squeaking noise that is horribly loud. It was so annoying I would have thrown them in the trash had I not figured out that Dupot Chain-Saver will shut them up (use it on your chain too).

Disappointed with the overall fit of the boot, returning.
27 November 2022

Really surprised about how bad the fit is for my feet. I wear a size 12, have always used Fox in the past without problem. The Alpinestars use 3 buckles, with the lower buckle located right over the pivot point of the foot, right where the top of the foot meets the ankle. That lower buckle digs into that crease in the foot every time my foot flexes. There is also excess space between the top of my foot and the ceiling of the boot. Makes upshifts feel less precise because of the slop. Since there is no strap over the top of the foot, there is no way to adjust for it. I've tried tightening the lowest buckle to try to adjust for it, but it just makes the pinching problem worse, and tends to cut off circulation (my toes get cold).

Really great boots, extremely protective and comfortable
23 April 2023

These boots are awesome. They are extremely supportive and protective. There is essentially 0 ankle/lateral flexion, really super strong in all aspects. They are also very comfortable. I have never once been irritated by them. I forget all about them when I'm riding the bike.I can't say I've tested the airflow / heat that much because I haven't ridden in hot conditions yet this season, but in 70-80 degree weather my feet have never felt hot.I wear a size 9 in everything else and that fits perfectly for these.

Sick Boots
21 February 2023

Probably one of the best upgrades to the gear. Was hesitant at first, trying to choose between these and SG12s. Glad I went with these. The booties were a little tight at first but after a bit of walking in them and a few rides, the boots were broken in nicely. Case a few jumps, and could tell instantly these are very supportive. Would Highly recommend. Good comfort, great protection and the look sick too. Glad I wen t with Supervented. Rode winter arenacross in about 5 degree C weather and feet were definitely warm. Recommend taking the booties out and drying completely. The foam on the heel of the booty holds a lot of moisture, definitely want to make sure everything is dry before you put away. Would definitely buy again.

These are the boots you need

I dont know how to say it, but either you have an Alpinestars foot or you dont. For those of you that do, consider yourself lucky. These are a european boot, without the narrowness of a european boot. Lots of adjustability, and the inner bootie provides a tremendous amount of support and flexibility. After hucking a jump past the landing, I barely noticed my previously multiple injured achilles tendon at all. Not to mention, they are the supervented version, lighter and far more breathable than the original version. Your feet and legs will thank you with the cooler and more comfortable feel of these. The quality, components, and feel are top shelf. Very comfortable boots
26 May 2023

Excellent boots, great value for the money, especially with the sale and RPM membership. Initially I was looking at a slightly cheaper boot for ADV riding. I saw these on sale and tried them on. I normally wear size 10.5 but the 10 felt great and roomy. They broke in quick and felt amazing. Even walking around off the bike I had no issues. I had foot surgery 7 months ago and still very sensitive to footwear. I can ride all day in these with very little discomfort on my recovering foot. The only thing keeping me from giving them 5 stars is the straps. I don't know yet how they will last over time. They feel great and easy to use so far but they are still new so only time will tell.
