Best deal to automate your home

This dot paired with the Sengled bulb has been so amazing! I also added a TP plug and that's cool too, and it turns on when it shouldn't, but with voice command I can turn the plug on and off with ease. Not sure if the issue is with Alexa, the plug, or my old 1950s wiring.The routines are fantastic because I can have the lights on just before I wake up, so i can see where im going. The voice commands work really well, but yiu do need to be sure to put in all the different ways you would say the command like, "Alexa, turn the lights off", and "Alexa, turn off the lights". If you don't do that for some commands, she won't recognize what you are asking her to do.Adding other devices is semi-quick and easy. Keep a spare echo ready in your music group and you can bring it outside on the deck on a nice day and have your music - and control of your music - at your side. Just wish they'd come out with a waterproof or outdoor version to have it out there all the time.

I received this as a free promotional item when I purchased a Fire TV. This is my second introduction to Amazon's Alexa integration products. It's great for controlling the new TV by voice (although the included remote with the TV also allowed this feature)Easy setup and took some reading of the manual with the Fire TV to figure out the integration. I can't say I would put this in every room of the house but an interesting addition to the TV.I was disappointed that the Fire TV I purchased would not integrate the sound very effectively. There is a WiFi option but the TV or the Dot would not support the connection regarding audio setup with the TV. Sucks, and Bluetooth doesn’t work right

I use YouTube as my ONLY music streaming service. The echo dot, doesn’t integrate with YouTube but can play via Bluetooth. I read that I could use this as a Bluetooth speaker and all I would have to do is say “Alexa turn on Bluetooth” and then I would be able to connect my phone. Well it worked the first night I got it, and I was super happy with it. Then the next morning it wouldn’t connect to my phone via Bluetooth. Then it would say it was connected and it wasn’t. I tried to connect my phone via the app to Bluetooth it, and then the speaker would say “connected to iPhone” and then instantly “unable to connect to iPhone” I had gotten a free Google speaker a year ago and gotten rid of it after a month, so I decided to try this out, but after two days, I’m giving it ... MoreI use YouTube as my ONLY music streaming service.
