Easy set up

Fairly easy set up. My only complaint is that it automatically set up the location as office which isn't what I wanted. It has great features for example I have it set up with my blink video doorbells so can see straightaway who's there without searching for my mobile also good if I'm out and my son is in he can see who's calling. I plan to purchase a second one for upstairs. It's also great for planning shopping lists as I'm sure I'm not the only one who forgets an item, well not anymore. It can also be linked to Netflix and Prime video something which I'm not sure I would use as it's in the lounge where I can watch on a much bigger screen but good to have the feature anyway. Echo show - needs a little work to configure

I bought this primarily so I can answer when someone calls my Blink doorbell without having to get my phone out my pocket. Setup is quite straightforward however I had to manually setup the Blink doorbell due to using different accounts on the Blink and my Alexa account. Pleased to say you can also use your Spotify account and set it as the default music player. I can also watch Netflix and YouTube on it.Overall pretty good but be prepared to do some Googling for additional help.

Fabulous addition to the house

I brought this a a replacement for a bedside clock and wasn't expecting much, but I was pleasantly surprised at the features, the alarm is very loud, the screen is a good brightness when active and will dim when not in use meaning it doesn't keep me awake. The speakers are absolutely fantastic, offering high quality sound, even when music is played at high volumes. The voice recognition works really well and I find it more sensitive than my other devices I have. Frustrating to use

I was really looking forward to exploring this Alexa show with my kids. Once it was all set up, which was a really easy process, we were ready to ask her a bunch of questions and have a blast. It was kind of a let down. Everything we asked her she seemed to have struggled with understanding our requests. I imagined to be able to get recipes or math breakdowns on the screen but we couldn’t. The touch is very responsive and haven’t had any unlocking issues or selection issues. Considering the length of time I’ve owned this and how many attempts I’ve taken to feel pleased with its performance , I just don’t like it. My kids don’t even play with it after about a week. It really just causes frustration in us all.

The Amazon Echo Show 5 for kids is a good first electronic toy for kids. I tried this out for my daughter and myself. This was our first device on this so we could not try the echo to echo/ Alexa communication. This is pretty to easy to set up if you remember your password and it enrolls you in Amazon kids. You swipe through each of the questions to get in. The Echo is pretty easy at recognizing songs and even with the kids protection my husband was able to ask for some of his music and my daughter asked for baby shark. Other lullabies came on. We asked for Dave and Ava which is a YouTube show and cocomelon came on instead. I wish it would say unavailable instead of bringing on another show and confusing my five year old. For story times I have not been able to activate picture books like her amazon tablet which is a little disappointing. It does verbally read for a listen to option. We are still working with the videos options as well. Connecting my parents to video talk took a little work since they don’t have Alexa devices. We had to work within my own app and tested sometimes. Right now my daughter at age 5 is still learning how to use it and we limit her usage of it for her age. She thinks it’s fun but it’s still a little difficult for her age to under stand how it exactly works. Every week we work on something new.so far we have played songs, videos, time weather, some music, talk with grand parents. There are also plenty of options for security settings and display features. I am still working on transferring one from my phone to it. It’s also cute to talk to her through it from my phone in the other room. I limited that for now because she would get excited and ask me to talk a few hundred times. Between work and kids and house you need a good amount of time to set every feature up so it’s something we work on slowly. There is still more to discover if this is your first device and watching some YouTube videos on how to operate it has helped a lot as well. Overall this is a cute communication device but I would not let gets get too dependent on it at such a young age.

The fact that it only costs a little more to add on a family plan instead of a one child account, makes me come to the conclusion that it's still a worthwhile investment in my option because you can have up to 4 kids plus accounts instead of just the one! I like the idea of the Echo Show but it needs work for kids. You have to ask questions very specifically and the apps/programs seem very fickle. Mostly we've used it as a clock and to play music. Most of the things the kids ask it to do gets a, "Sorry I can't do that" response so they get frustrated... even just the "Fart" command isn't working which may just be a setting we need to adjust but I haven't figured it out yet. So far it doesn't seem like the screen is utilized much... if we connect with Elmo there's just a small picture of Elmo up in the corner, not an animated interaction and Barbie was just a picture of arrows on a pink background.Pros: The potential is there and if you/kids know exactly what you want to do and how to activate it then you're golden. ... MoreI like the idea of the Echo Show but it needs work for kids. Only works as a clock, not as an Alexa!

Super disappointed especially for the cost! I've had this for around two months and the Alexa interface stopped working about a month in. Essentially, I can only use it as a clock now and have turned off all the other "features." It constantly disconnected from Bluetooth and WiFi, so I would have to automatically connect it each time I wanted to speak to it. It got to the point Alexa would ONLY say "having trouble connecting right now" so I gave up. BUMMED!!! I do not recommend this, and have instead replaced it with a $20 smart google instead.....I am passed the deadline to return, so a bedside clock it is.
