Compared to Google Home, felt Amazon Echo was not that easy to configure or be friendly to setup. Amazon had least options for music or youtube or any google product being unavailable is major limitation. Google easily blends with Google Meet, Google products such as Youtube, YouTube Music, etc,Amazon Echo uses silk browser to play anything on Youtube. Quality of video is really great. No doubt great product for home to use it. More language options is needed for customers benefits (when using across world).

Audio quality is pretty impressive for a small Alexa device. If you get one of these, splurge for the compatible stand. I changed the name to Ziggy to differentiate between other Amazon devices in my house. Seems like sometimes I have to say the name twice to get it to "wake-up." But, I toggled the mic button on and off on top of it and that seemed to make it work a little better. While this device is the best Amazon device I have, I do feel like the product line, overall, has gotten a little stale and is weighted even more heavily than ever to selling me stuff than helping me out and providing me with entertainment. This interface and functionality is pretty much the same as what we all got 5-6 years ago. Amazon can do more with these devices, I think

I wanted to love this echo show but it’s been more stressful than helpful. It has its pros and cons, but what doesn’t work for me might work for others. It’s beautiful and sleek and the screen quality is amazing but a bit large for me. I get the bigger screen is way better visually to watch videos and the huge speaker produces great sound, but it takes up too much of my counter space. The angled up position of the screen is perfect when you’re directly in front of it (camera zooms in and out when detecting people), but if I want a lower view (say of my dogs) on a drop in call to the house, all I get is a far away view of the ceiling. A great piece of technology that does everything it’s supposed to do. I keep it in the kitchen to read my recipes, listen to music or audiobooks, or watch videos.The speaker makes up most of the back body. While it is loud enough to enjoy over a set of sizzling pots and pans, it isn’t a rich sound. Which is fine for my purposes.When I leave for town, I move the device to the living room in order to monitor my cats. The camera is wide enough to capture the whole room and the picture is clear enough to see it all. Also appreciative that there’s a physical means to close off the camera so my personal FBI agent can’t spy on me.
I had the Echo Show 5 in my kitchen which I replaced with the 3rd Generation Echo Show 8. Wow! What a significant difference from the model I had. I love the 8-inch smart display. The display is noticeably clearer. It features a light bar so you can adjust the brightness. The images displayed are beautiful. I am impressed by how many features this model has. You can sync to all types of devices. I am in my kitchen for hours at a time and I listen to music. The sound is great. I cook and I am always asking Alexa recipe questions and the response time is very quick. The device was extremely easy to set up. There are privacy controls, so you can set up what you want and what you do not want. I am incredibly happy with the 3rd Generation Echo Show 8.

I’ve loved my 2nd gen for a couple years now - the sound is good, the responsiveness is great, and the size is perfect for my nightstand (it’s the best alarm clock). When I saw there was a new generation coming out, I was not planning on buying it. However, after setting up the 3rd gen, I can immediately tell the difference. The sound, which is the most important to me, is great - more rich than the 2nd gen. The best part of the 3rd gen however is the upgraded processor. Bought this for my 85 Yr old mother in law who has everything! If I knew how much she uses it daily I would have purchased her one years ago. I load up all the great grandkids photos sent by my daughters weekly and she loves veiwing them, she loves music and learned all she has to do is ask Alexa to play her favorite so songs, I bought her a light bulb compatible with Alexa and she now commands the light to turn on and off. No longer has to walk to her lamp every day twice a day. She loves her Alexa Show. What I love the best on this product, I have this unit on my Alexa app so I can monitor her turning the light on and off. If I see the lights is on she went to be, if I see the light turned off, she is awake. It’s the perfect gift!
The Echo Show 8 is a very impressive device, allowing you to perform innumerable functions and activities from your countertop. Having a screen-based hub to stream video content, Spotify, and personal photo slideshows when not in use makes it a great addition to our kitchen. The sound is incredible and very rich given the size of the unit (also can get incredibly loud). Setup was a breeze of course and once it was linked to the account we were able to add any additional skills (like linking our Eufy Cameras and Nanit baby monitors). Navigation can feel a little clunky at times, but aside from minor interface gripes it is pretty snappy.
There are soal many things you can do with this little gem. I gave 1 to my friend who lives alone & is lonely & doesn't sleep well. She talks to Alexa, uses the sleep sounds to help sleep, & watches tv while cooking. My sister uses it for her husband who has dementia & speaks 3 languages. He practices w/Alexa anĂ° enjoys the programs of his favorite musicians. This last one I bought for my artistic sister who uses it to see instructions for her various ary programs. I useine for cooking ideas. Great to have!
