I love this Amazon Kindle! I own an older Kindle and I love the updated features on this new Kindle. It is lightweight and compact and that makes it easy to hold for long periods of time and to take anywhere. The screen on this Kindle is very sharp and clear. I am so pleased that this Kindle has a longer battery life than my older version. The only feature missing in this Kindle is that it is not waterproof. That would be nice to have but considering the other amazing features, this Kindle is a big improvement to previous Kindles.

This kindle is smaller than the one that I had years ago but the size is more convenient and just right to stick in a back pack side pocket or purse. Its smaller than the iPad mini. However, this could be an issue if you have bigger hands or farsighted but the font can be adjusted to accommodate the size of words. Love the night light for reading in the dark. The actual color is more of a mauve or dusty pink than plum. So far the battery life is decent, I have never really let the battery get below 75% before recharging. Not good at all for searching the internet, the response time is really slow and froze several times. The kindle is very convenient, especially when reading at night, as there is backlight. It’s much better than reading on your phone, since the kindle does not emit blue light. You’re also able to keep hundreds of books on your person at all times in such a small device. I have owned mine for over a year now and use the Libby app to borrow ebooks from my local library, which has allows me to save money. Another pro is that the kindle gives you privacy no one has to know what you’re reading unless you want them to. I would recommend purchasing a case for the kindle and attaching a pop socket to the case, as it makes holding the kindle much easier and convenient.
If you’re considering this, and reading this review, you’re probably considering your first foray into Kindle reading. Good choice. A few things to note about this.The ads are not pop ups. I know some dead tree fans would have you believe, right in the middle of a tense scene, an ad will interrupt the page. That’s not how this works. What happens is, when you put the device in sleep mode, rather than say the cover or the portrait of a famous author, you see an ad. If you use the physical cover to turn on and off the device, you won’t see much if any of the ads. And yes, you can dog ear a page.
Screen is very crisp, backlighting has no hot spots and the night/amber feature is a good tint even in daytime. The only desirable feature would be if the battery lasted a bit longer, although I also absolutely love having actual tactile buttons - nothing wrong with the touch screen. They even thought to allow to reverse the buttons as to which does next and which does back. Once in awhile (like one out of every couple hundred page turns) the buttons seem to stop responding. One swipe on the touchscreen restores it; I do not find it particularly annoying or troublesome and I'm guessing eventually a firmware update will come along. Bottom line: This is an awesome product and it's already provided a lot of reading enjoyment and will continue to do so.
Great compact size, a clear, backlit display that looks pixel-perfect at 300 dpi, and access to all the content from Amazon you could want to read. This is not suitable for the beach or pool. Otherwise, this thing is perfect. I love how easy, compact, light, and simple the device is when using it. It’s bright enough to read without bothering your partner. You can also adjust the text size and look to what you prefer and like. Extremely helpful when traveling or going places because it’s so compact. Highly recommend! Great price and very well-made. I do wish it was more water resistance but hey for the price I'm happy.
This is awesome! Previously I was just using the kindle app on my phone but this is amazing because the battery lasts FOREVER and it really feels like you are reading a book. Im sure it’s better for before bed because it avoids the whole blue light issue. The device is responsive and I love how you can look up definitions just by touching a word. I was reading a fantasy novel and I could even tough words unique to the story and it would pull up a wiki based glossary for the book for definitions. It’s amazing! Storage feels endless like I could load it up with more books that I could read in a year! It’s also so compact and easily packable—really great for travel!
So excited to use this new 11th generation (2022) Kindle. I ripped open the package and immediately started the set up. I used the process recommended with my Kindle app and my new Kindle was set up in less than 5 minutes. The Kindle arrived with a 54% charge so I have ample time to set up and play immediately without having to charge. This newest version is short lightweight and will be great for travel. I’m looking forward to many hours of book reading at my fingertips. I enjoy the lack of pop-ups, etc that have become a daily distraction on other devices. The display is glare free and feels like paper/matte photo; very calming.
