Runs cooler and reaches max frequency of 4.4 Gz easy on my 4 year old mini-itx mother board (sustained under full core load , it holds this) I would recommend a cheap aftermarket cooler on this , for much lower temps than standard cooler (which works fine). Having a better cooler on the cpu and it runs at max 4.4 easy consistently at full 6 core/12 thread loads no problem. Stock cooler may not give u full performance I have a cheap coolermaster 410R 90mm tower cooler (fits in my small cube case with my mini-itx board).Keeps cpu about 15 deg C cooler than stock cooler. Except for a small minority of people, even the "lower end" is more than capable, for much less money. 6 cores / 12 thread is fantastic for most anything these days. If they're willing to throw in a Wraith Spire, I'd take that, though, as Spire is definitely a capable cooler. Attached CPU-Z voltage is not correct. This is all you need unless you have a professional reason to have a stronger CPU (you will know if that's the case), or if you're willing to spend double the price of this to get on average 10% more performance in games. By the time games truly utilize more than 6 cores you will need to upgrade this anyways. Single threaded perf is more important than core count for the average consumer. Dropped in replacement to replace a 2700x which I gave to someone for a budget build. Performance in games is noticeably faster with a 3080 on 1440P high refresh rate. Less stuttering and way better 0.1% and 1% lows. Couldn't be happier. Bought this as part of a budget build for graphics programming plus light gaming. Performed well on the cinabench with 9998 pts for multi-core performance and 1468 points for single core performance. The stock cooler is performing well so far however I have not yet tested it under heavy loads. I assembled the desktop myself and it was fairly straightforward. Also received another discount by pairing this CPU with the motherboard I bought so that was another plus. So in the end this CPU cost $150 pre-tax. Overall would definitely recommend.

After the first year, we got an Nvidia 1650 Super gpu from Microcenter to add into it and now after 2 years we decided to upgrade the CPU to the Ryzen 5 5600. Just a note, you have to upgrade the bios in this board first to Revision 7.0 and then after that you can upgrade to the current bios which right now is 7.40. Somewhere I read that if you fire up the pc for like 30 seconds, it will heat up the stuck thermal paste and the cooler will pop off easier right after you shut it down but I didn't have to try that. Aside from that, after the new CPU and cooler were installed everything worked great. The bios updates did reset the RAM xmp profile settings, so don't forget to go into the bios and make sure your RAM is running at its full speed if you are using faster RAM. We had put two sticks of 8gb 3200Mhz ddr4 RAM in this system when we first got it (that's the fastest this motherboard can handle), so I just had to set the xmp profile for the RAM again in the bios and then everything was good. This has been a nice little project PC for my nephew to learn and play on and the Ryzen 5 5600 has really been a great fit. Thanks Microcenter!

I have mine paired with a 3060ti and play at a mix of 1080p/1440p on a 27" 144hz 1440p monitor. For its price you really can't go wrong, and at stock speeds it will not exceed 75-80w. Which makes it fairly easy to keep cool (mine never goes beyond 65c using a Wraith Prism cooler), and it was a drop in replacement for my b450 tomahawk. I'm currently using 16gb 3200mhz CL16 ram (OC'ed to 3466mhz) and even then it has very minimal memory latency compared to previous generations. Although if I'm being honest, 16gb is beginning to fall behind a bit (when playing the 2018 GoW PC port @ 1440p it'll regularly push memory utilization to 12-13gb total), so I will likely be upgrading to 32gb @ 3600mhz soon.
