The 2700x has served me well. I recently purchased a 3700X. At 2k or higher resolution the 2700X won't bottleneck games. Especially at 4k there is no bottleneck. It's snappy with fast Samsung B-Die memory. If you are building with the 2700x go with Teamgroup Legend CL14 memory as it's the cheapest and one of the fastest kits I have seen recently. 14-14-14-31. Purchased part cash part voucher. Took about three days to arrive so no issue there. Well packed in a brown paper bag inside packing material (I was aware CEX do not fear static). Plopped it in the PC and away it went! Son can now play games that are processor hungry.
...Packaging it arrived in not so great. It came loose in a bubble between two torn pieces of cardboard. Thankfully legs weren't bent and it fired up when I dropped it into mainboard. Clearly a training issue for staff. In a local branch I see young people who clearly don't know about static electricity and how fragile CPU legs are.Apart from that great processor. Replacing good old Ryzen 3 1200 it took games and even day to day activities in Windows to a whole new level of smoothness. Everything is getting done immediately. Great value for money too.
I bought this to stick in the kids hand me down pc as I upgraded to 13th intel.Yeas it’s second hand and shouldn’t expect the best in the world however CeX sent a pinned cpu wrapped inside a brown paper bag! No cpu holder, nothing, sent inside a small thin jiffy envelope! Some pins on the outside were slightly bent but not too much and socketing it sorted those out.However it was DOA, kaput. Didn’t work. I thought my board had gone but tried a friends cpu and board worked. All the corner pins of the cpu and some of them on the side were all bent. I managed to carefully straighten them without issue and this cpu worked.I can’t fault them for delivery times and the returns process in my case. Was fast and efficient.However they really do need to have a word with their stores on shipping a cpu and packaging them properly. I find it ridiculous they can’t even wrap it properly or put them inside a cpu case.All in all I’d have better luck in an undamaged cpu from eBay
My Son purchased this CPU from you as secondhand. I have no doubt it left you in perfect condition, however, it arrived to us with 12 bent pins. Luckily, I was able to repair those pins. It might be an idea to 'review' your packaging to nullify the less than careful treatment that Royal Mail subjects your deliveries to.
The CPU works as expected. No bent pin. Great product.
I had an Intel i7 9700K and this Ryzen 7 2700X have same speed but at less temperature. Intel was throttling and running at 100 deg C at single tower cooler. This one at cheap cooler (around 40£) Phantom Spirit 120 SE do no exceed 70 deg C so it is big win against Intel (which is over 135£ against 55£ for AMD) so you can play games like Fallout 76, Destiny 2 or do virtualization jobs at less money.
