The 2700x is one of 2018s best CPUs. It does math it reads and sings like a jackal. And most of all it CPUs.
Good jump up from a R7 1700 although if you have something like an 1800x? I wouldn’t really bother upgrading to the 2700x since it’s not a significant jump in performance..
Coming from a high-end 4th gen Intel platform this is a very solid upgrade. I've been pleased with it in almost every way. My only complaint is if you wish to utilize higher clocked memory via memory overclocking (past JEDEC standards), the memory controllers on these are picky with which memory will work without meticulous manual tuning. I was however able to get all 4 RAM sockets occupied with singe rank memory not on my motherboards QVL up to 2666Mhz without SOC voltage bumps which beats official specs. Precision Boost will noticeably improve performance without the need to manually overclock and you will still have power savings when heavy workloads are not present. The AM4 socket on the 300, 400 and new 500 series platforms that this processor works in by AMD allows for effortless upgrade-ability across 3 generations of CPUs already. 50th Edition anniversary??? Hell yea considering my very first owned AMD processor because before that always been an intel. This piece of technology blew my mind away!
You get a t-shirt with it (if you claim it and it actually does arrive). Otherwise there are no other bonuses really that you should care about. I'm returning mine because its overall not only not worth it and doesn't hit advertised 4.3Ghz boost speeds.
