As a big fan of simulation games, I recently had the pleasure of playing Animal Crossing New Horizons, and I must say, it's a delightful game. Animal Crossing is a relaxing and charming game that allows players to build and decorate their own virtual town, interact with cute animal characters, and live a simple and peaceful life. The game's graphics are colorful and vibrant, and the music is soothing and calming. One of the things I love about Animal Crossing is the ability to personalize your town and character. There are countless customization options, from choosing your character's appearance to decorating your home and town with various items and furniture. This adds to the game's realism and immerses you in the world of Animal Crossing even more. The game's community aspect is also a standout feature. You can visit other players' towns and interact with their animal villagers, exchange items and furniture, and even play mini-games together. Overall, Animal Crossing is a relaxing and enjoyable game that's perfect for anyone who loves simulation games or just wants to unwind and escape into a peaceful world filled with cute animals. I highly recommend giving it a try.

As someone who has played the previous Animal Crossing games, I pre-ordered New Horizons and played day one. I loved, liked, and disliked some things about this game. I love the new crafting system. I love that you can place items outside now. I love that you can still design your own clothes and items. You can now terraform the island to your liking (for the most part). There’s so many cute outfits and items! The game is good but I also noticed some room for improvement. The game is fully updated and the only paid DLC is Happy Home Paradise. I adore this DLC and think it’s fully worth the money. However, if you’re playing late-game, this is the only expansion to the game from this point on. The multi-player is only there to show off your island. This was the type of game I picked up a couple of months at a time.

I first started playing AC when it was introduced and on the GameCube console. I immediately became obsessed and was playing it every single day, picking the weeds, fishing, collecting for the museum, checking my mail, etc etc. Idk why or how it was so addicting but it was! I played everyday for a solid year + until I started to phase out. Now I play the new AC on Nintendo Switch and it’s a little different, but not too much. It’s still fun and I love decorating and redecorating my house and going to other towns! Bc I’m 40 years old, I don’t talk about playing AC to everyone bc I feel like I would be looked at like I’m weird, lol. But the funny thing is, the ppl I have mentioned it to has not only known about AC but they play it too! Lmao! If you want a game that’s stress relieving and like games that you can build a town and do it’s upkeep daily, I highly recommend this game!
One of the best games ever played. Hands down. I've been in love with the AC games ever since the Game Cube released the first game. The concept although a little odd, a human living amongst Animals who can communicate with, build lasting friendships and turn the town into a blossoming place for all to inhabit. But it truly is so fun, and immersive. Anyone who has played it will have their own favourite villagers who hold a special place in your heart. And for me that definitely remained. To say I was beyond ecstatic at the release of New Horizons is a serious understatement. The graphics were crystal clear, controls extremely user friendly for all ages to quickly pick up on- even for the most novice gamer. To say I was beyond ecstatic at the release of New Horizons is a serious understatement. The graphics were crystal clear, controls extremely user friendly for all ages to quickly pick up on- even for the most novice gamer. At first I felt like a huge chunk of the nostalgia had been removed, as it was slightly tedious, but once setup it all flooded back. I definitely feel like this was done to introduce new gamers into the franchise, and certainly nicely done. Word of warning, this game is ADDICTING. The features are endless, creating and island paradise and turning it into a full on habitat- in real time!!! Seasons change correlating to whether you live in the Northern or Southern Hemisphere (you can choose the opposite should you wish!) time and date will follow too! The flexibility in what you're able to do is truly open world. Placing houses where you like, knocking down and rebuilding landscape, paths, trees, flowers- it's all at your fingertips. Whilst there are standard game features such as shopping, fishing, bug catching- it never feels boring. Shopping becomes addictive, as the Shops are never short of new clothes, accessories, furniture and all sorts of items needed to create your perfect living environment. The characters really do make you feel like the friendships are real. Dialogue is a bit limited after some time and repetitive amongst villagers with the same personality type- but for me this doesn't put me off. The regular updates have always coincided with previous games, which was lovely to see. Events always going on, so nothing falls short of entertainment. The introduction of Happy Home Designer which was a separately released game back on the 3DS console is sooo amazing to have- but I will review this separately. I am no longer embarrassed to play this game as a guilty please, as I did with the previous games. It's loved by everyone now!!
A charming, almost whimsical game for those who like the simple life. Animal Crossing: New Horizons is, to me, a literal game-changer. Prior to getting it, I'd never played any of Animal Crossing's titles. Now, I totally wish I did. Not only is it simple (it's easy to follow instructions on crafting, customizing, etc.), it's also complex in the since that Nintendo has created such a diverse cast of characters to accompany fashionable islands, all of which can be tailored to the players' liking. The graphics are way better than past Animal Crossing games. If you need proof, just watch the sun set on your tropical paradise, or view the night sky that shimmers with shooting stars , even the snow and rain is nice in this game . Do I even need to mention the relaxing music? No, it speaks for itself. While at times the the game can be challenging because there’s so much you can do ( that’s exactly what makes it so special and fun as well . Plus, I've never seen a game where you could customize so much. Definitely a must play if you haven’t yet !
Got hooked and play this all the time. Even after "beating" the game...which it sort of considers getting a 3 Star Island and K.K. visiting...I still keep going and getting more. Goals now are keeping a 5 Star island and collecting everything. This was actually a copy for my 2nd Switch, so other family members can join an island and visit each other to do even more along with trading items.I wish the Local Network connection was more stable and stayed in sync. First time we played with it we spent two hours helping each other then it disconnected and we lost everything. The Online play which requires the Family Plan seems to cache on their servers and not have issues unless someone disconnects wrong or their battery goes dead. I think they could have done it better on the Local Network too, but chose to optimize the one you have to give them money for. I have a Gigabit local network which should be faster and more stable than both devices connecting to an outside internet server to communicate when 5 feet from each other and we even got ethernet adapters to rule out Wifi issues.
Been playing Animal Crossing - New Horizons a few months now and it's a good highly polished game with fantastic graphics. You start on your island living in a tent and gradually work your way up to buying a house as you earn funds from farming, etc. The game runs in real time so it's dark in the game when it's dark in real life. Real life events are also recognised in the game! Sounds GOOD, until after 2-3 months of playing the game becomes a bit like the movie Groundhog Day! You sort of hit a brick wall and find yourself doing the same things over and over each day with not much else to do. For this reason, I have moved onto another game and only go back to Animal Crossing occasionally. For this reason, I have moved onto another game and only go back to Animal Crossing occasionally. Having too played a similar game called Stardew Valley (available on several formats) I can honestly say that Stardew Valley was better, the developer put a lot of thought into that game. Graphically, Animal Crossing - New Horizons is far superior, however Stardew Valley has a lot more things to do to keep the player interested, but even that game eventually comes to an end. Animal Crossing - New Horizons is still a worthy purchase and a great game, but I really hope Nintendo add a lot more to the next game to keep players playing.
There is a scam going on with Walmart games, specifically Nintendo Switch. Scammers will find a way to black out the cartrige area (tape, sharpie, foam, ect.) so no one can tell there isn't a game in there. Walmart has a "give a game get a game" policy, so the scammer will reseal the empty package and "return" it for a new game of something else or the same thing. Rinse, wash, and repeat it all again and you have a good amount of faulty products. Walmart needs to address this issue since they like to not accept already opened products. Essentially, I paid for a box of air. It's not a refund, I am just trying to claim the product that I originally purchased. My best advice is that when you purchase your game from the store, open it in front of a cashier to make sure ... MoreThere is a scam going on with Walmart games, specifically Nintendo Switch. That way, they can't claim you messed with the package. Also, there's enough evidence online about this scam happening so often that you can use that for proof.
As a 39 year old male I bought this for my children during lockdown. Little did I know it would be me that would plough over 500 hours into it.Beautifully designed game, a whole world of creativity and zero negativity in the little island you create. It's like a children's version of the sims game but with limitless options to explore, thanks to various creators designs codes which can be implemented.Being the only human on the island you complete various tasks and unlock items to create you own island how you like with various other villagers joining you.The only negative is the islanders (all various animals) don't sense a lot of the time.
