Anker Nano 30W seems to overheat

I just received two of these chargers, and they are noticeably faster than Apple’s 20W chargers. However, after charging my new iPhone 14 Pro, I decided not to use these chargers, again. Reason: the charger gets hot while in use. Not just warm, but HOT. And, I am using a new Anker cable, which i ordered at the same time.In addition, my iPhone was getting very warm. I do not want to risk any heat-related issues with my new iPhone.

Got an iPad second hand that didn't have a charger. Was using a 5W iPhone charger until I realized the power was draining in some applications even though it was plugged in, and I'd have to lower the brightness 50% to prevent that from happening. Happy to say now with this charger I can run 100% brightness, and whatever I want without issue. Couldn't be happier. It's also super tiny, as the Nano name suggests. About the same size as my 5W charger. Anker products have been good before so I trust that the charger isn't going to damage my product or anything, but only time will tell.

Even smaller and better than I thought!!

When they say Nano, they mean it. Once I put it in my hands, I was blown away. Super fast, and more powerful than the 20 watt chargers that Apple ships (or doesn't anymore). Plus they're cheaper.- This is my first GaN based charger, but it stays relatively cool, given the output wattage and the small size. I was concerned with heat buildup, but it's not even been close to getting hot. I notice a little warmth when I'm charging my iPad and it's really low, but impressively cool, nonetheless.- The fold in outlet prongs make it perfect for a backpack, purse, on the go, or ... MoreWhen they say Nano, they mean it. My cordless hot glue gun, cordless electric screwdriver, Nintendo Switch, Headphones, etc. It's just fantastic. It's so affordable, compact and capable, this is the ONLY one I'd recommend!

Exceptional but unplugs from the power outlet
17 January 2023

Product has great charging speed and power. Sleek design, nice finish. The only reason I can't give it 5 stars is that it constantly unplugs from the power source. It needs a wide prong and a narrow prong to prevent this. This product only has two narrow prongs. Because of this the charger will come loose from the outlet with only a small pull. My only other complaint is that when plugging into an outlet sometimes the product snaps back into travel position pretty easily. The travel mode where the prongs are hidden inside the charger is quite springy.

Finally quick charging my pixel 6
13 October 2022

I had borrowed my original pixel cable out to a friend, and none of my newer Anker cables would charge on an older power port, even with USBC to USBC. It seems like it's just the products were mismatching by generations. I grabbed this and my newest series 7 USBC to USBC Anker cord and again I finally have quick charge again. Adaptive charge was annoying and taking way too long to charge, this was a relief when it finally arrived albeit late.

Incredible power can run a laptop
30 November 2022

Amazing. This can charge everything I own. It even powers my Latitude 9320. 30W fast charges everything and has enough to keep my Dell going and stays cool. Would love to have 4-5 of these. Perfect for travel. Ridiculously small just a touch bigger than an apple 5W cube. Magical. I got this on Black Friday on sale.

Limited by its Plug
14 March 2023

I’ve had this charger for 6 months. At first I loved this charger as it can charge my ipad and phone while still being extremely small. However, it’s like the anker team designed this and said “this is too good to release we need to hold it back so we can make an updated version.”They absolutely botched the plug. It’s always unplugging from any outlet. One nudge or pull unplugs the charger! You can’t blindly try and plug it in either (if you’re used to charging your phone bedside) as it folds back up. It’s a major inconvenience on an otherwise perfect product. It’s more annoying than anything and seems like a simple update - one that won’t be provided to us until nano 4

Small Mighty Powerhouse
26 January 2023

This small charger is a powerhouse. I charge my iPhone, Apple watch and even my iPad with this bad boy and they charge in record time. I feel like I hardly ever have to keep charing my devices. This is my second one. I bought the one with the 6 foot cord and it is perfect length and the cord is built tough. It reminds me of an outdoor extension cord.

This is the small charger to beat
10 September 2022

Seriously, this is what you want if you want a portable charger that can charge anything from a MacBook Air, tablet, or phone. It is superlight, fits in my pants pocket and any bag I own, and I think it might be my favorite charger. I have an Anker 737 120W charger as well, and I use that if I am traveling more that inside my metro area, but it is significantly heavier and I would much rather carry the 30W Nano 3.If you are curious, it Super Fast Charges my S22 Ultra, and it also charges at an identical rate to the stock charger when connected to my M2 MacBook Air.
