Battery life just doesn’t last on these…

I’ve purchased the Soundcore Dot 2 earbuds twice within the past 4 months. The first set stopped keeping a charge within 3 weeks. The case was fully charged but the earbuds would have the “battery low” and disconnect. I figured maybe it was flawed? I took them back into Walmart since it had only been around 15 days since I purchased them. I did an exchange and hoped the second pair would be better. It wasn’t. This second pair is now doing the same and it’s been 6 weeks. When they are charged, I only get around 3 hours of battery I’ve. Sound is ok, but definitely not noise canceling. The right ear goes out faster than the left. I’m not trying again on a 3rd set. I also noticed that the price went up in the past few weeks after I exchanged! Good Entry Point

These are my first wireless earbuds and I have heard that they are excellent for those who does not want to dip too much in the wireless department. The audio is quite good, although a bit heavy on the bass (as is the nature for in-ear headphones), and the soundstage is surprisingly wide. The earbuds comes with multiple 4 other tip sizes and 2 other wing sizes so it is quite easy to customize it to fit in your ears comfortably. The active noise cancellation is very good for the price and is able to block out most noises while music is playing, but does not block out everything (particularly with people talking). Unfortunately, the mic has a lot of noise and the clarity is quite muddy so I rarely ever use it for phone calls. The earbuds can also only connect to one device at a time so more often than not you will have to reset the earbuds (3 second button press) and connect it manually to the device you want to pair it with. Another complaint I've often seen are the touch controls on the earbuds, which I cannot comment too much on as I have the habit of using my device for the commands anyway so take that as you will. Otherwise these are very good for the price, especially when they are on sale for $50!

Overall, I am OK with the sound quality and especially at this price point haven’t tried anything that sounds better.BATTERY – definitely one of the top features, as the 10 hours per charge holds true, and the case has wireless charging (a bit slower) which is mostly missing from other brands at this price point – very handy and hard to go back once you get used to having several devices with wireless charging. There is also USB C charging, and also a “quick charge” that will get you an extra hour or so with just a 10 minute nap in the charging case. I often fall asleep with my audiobooks at night and in the morning still have plenty of charge to tune in to NPR, walk the dog, and get ready for work.ONE-BUD CAPABILITY – yep you can go with only one bud and still make phone calls or listen to the navigator app in one ear while driving and have the other ear open for music or keeping in contact with the traffic around you.IPX7 – Well it just so happens that it was raining cats and dogs this morning, and it was nice to be able to walk the dog and get in the car for work without having to worry about getting the buds wet. Showering after a workout or rinsing off at the pool is not a problem either (not for swimming).CALL QUALITY – the incoming call quality is just as good as any other pair that I have, and the outgoing quality seems to be OK as well – I asked about the voice quality on several calls and everyone said “sounds good to me” so seems to be just fine. I have higher priced buds with 4 microphones where the 2S has two, but honestly I don’t seem to find much if any difference.CASE – the case has a nice set of indicator lights to let you know that both earbuds are charging when you put them in, and also to let you know when the case needs charging, and when the case is fully charged. The contour of the case is very friendly to the pocket, and slides in easily without too much of a bulge or bump.A few features are missing that I like to have, such as “pass through” that allows outside sounds to be heard without taking out an earbud – so take out an earbud if you have the occasional need.Overall these are competitive with features at this price point. If you are wanting a secure and comfortable “sports” fit with wireless charging, a waterproof rating, and good battery life – these may be right for you. If you MUST have ANC or “pass through” function – you can find those features in the same price range, but you may be giving up the IPX7 rating, “sports” fit, and the longer battery life you would get from the Anker 2S buds.

Great ear bud for athletes

I'm always looking for versatile, go anywhere do anything, earbuds. The Life Dot 2S is a stellar cross between quality and versatility.In the box are ear buds, charging case, USB-C charging cable, different sized wings and ear tips. Setup was not at straight forward as expected with my Samsung Galaxy android phone, it took a few attempts to pair after installing the Soundcore app. I fixed this by attempting to pair a few times, and eventually the process worked as expected.Once paired I had no issues with controls or staying connected. I find that the mechanical controls are slightly more cumbersome than I'd like, as I feel like I'm pressing the ear bud into my ear to get the button to activate. The upside is that the app allows for customization of the button functionality.Build quality is better than expected for the price point. The charging case has a slightly wider hinge than most, so the lid does not feel flimsy or will like it will break after a few months of use. The earbuds are somewhat unique in that each ear bud has a wing that will help lock it into your ear. I think this makes a huge difference for runners and doing physical work while wearing. I have zero concern of these falling out during a long run. Another nice feature for runners is that these are waterproof, so I'm not worried about sweating on them or cleaning them.The sound quality is as expected, the Soundcore app has Equalizer settings, there are 22 different preselected profile options as well as the ability to customize. The range is average, with clear high ranges, and little distortion at the low end (pending eq options). For calling, I had no issues hearing and the other person said there was limited background noise on my end. Overall performance for sound is exactly what I expect, not super high end, but not junk. I was able to get 4 days of usage between charges which aligns with the claims of 10 hours play time.Overall, get these for your athletes, your picky wearers who struggle with fit, and your teen because these are a unique look that will not be mixed up with everyone else's ear buds. I'm a fan of the design, build quality and sound options available through the app.

The wingtip design holds the buds in solidly even when I shook my head and bounced up and down. I used it for 3 intense workouts and they never felt as if they were going to fall out. I never got any ear fatigue or pain from wearing them even after lengthy 1 hour workouts.I really enjoyed how these headphones sounded. Since they were snug to the ear, ambient noise is blocked even without noise cancelation. The sound signatures that you can choose from in the app were game changing. Wireless charging is also a great convienence, though the headphones themselves don’t come with their own pads for charging, they do come with a usb-c to usb charging cord.The Soundcore App allows you to customize controls for both buds and each bud singularly, as well as update the headphones, and make your own custom equalizer. I personally find myself going back to the standard sound but the option is there for those that like a specific setting.Overall these are excellent headphones, almost worthy of five out of five stars. The only issue is a slight glitch where the headphones will disconnect from one another. It’s not an often occurrence, but something I’m sure they’ll fix in an update to the firmware.

One year of ownership

Let me start by saying Im not a professional sound reviewer lol.. Just an average Jane. I purchased these 5 days shy of 1 year ago. I love them! I really like how i can customize the sound & one works without the other. The battery life is better than i could've ever imagined. You can literally tell the difference between the cheaper pair and this one. I also have issues getting most to stay in my ears but these stay just fine. Tbh ive been cheap when it comes to ear buds in the past out of fear of losing them. I finally decided i wanted a "better" pair & anticipated id be spending $100+ on the galaxy buds. I found these around $65 I believe with good reviews so I gave them a try. Ive now washed them in the washer 2x. Water resistant.. sure. Water proof... no. Outstanding Value and Sound!

The Anker Soundcore Life Dot 2S exceeded my expectations in sound quality. I have heard that Anker wireless earbuds and headphones had good sound but I had no idea that they would rival and even surpass some of my more expensive headphones and true wireless earbuds in sound quality. For the price of these True-Wireless Earbuds, they are without a doubt the best I have heard for the price. Additionally, when you download the app and switch to custom it immediately improves the sound signature and adds clarity to phone calls for some reason even if you switch back to the Soundcore Signature the clarity and overall sound stage remains greatly improved. Back when I could easily root my phones and use Viper4Android it was not a problem but since most manufacturers really locked down on their bootloaders preventing root and custom roms it has been an issue. That is until now with the Equalizer built into the Soundcore app increasing the sliders upward actually increases the volume as well and works very well in letting you shape the sound just how you want it and as loud as you can stand it and or as loud as the earbuds or headphones your using can handle. However, even with these Life Dot 2S True-Wireless Earbuds for the first time in a long time, I can listen to music as loud and clear as I want to and still have additional volume overhead if needed. This is coming from an audiophile that builds car stereo systems and has high-end home and car stereo equipment. I have one Anker Bluetooth speaker but this is my first set of Anker Earbuds or Headphones. The Anker Soundcore Life Dot 2S True-Wireless Earbuds come with an impressive array of earbud sizes so you can be sure to find a size that fits your ears. I am very impressed with the sound quality of these Earbuds no matter what you are listening to and for phone calls the sound quality is great. Now that I have discovered these I want some over-the-ear Anker Headphones. I definitely would recommend these and other Anker Earbuds and Headphones. I have used Anker accessories for a while and I knew they were good but I had no idea how good their audio equipment could be!
