This model of UPS easily provides back-up power to my desktop PC and monitor (using 50W of power so plenty of 'headroom' thus not stressing the UPS electronics) to give an orderly shutdown in the event of the mains electricity failing and thus preventing the data on your hard disk from being corrupted. After sliding the battery into the chassis and connecting the two battery terminals, the manufacturer suggests before first use, that the unit is left plugged in to the mains electricity supply for 8 hours to charge the battery fully. The unit comes with software for the PC to allow you to modify various settings, and is supplied with two IEC mains cables to connect to your PC and monitor and an RJ45-to-USB cable for control and data exchange between PC and UPS. The only negative aspect is that it comes with an IEC mains cable which has an EU/US two-pin plug connected rather than a 3-pin plug for use in UK mains sockets - so buy a spare 3-pin plug to fit yourself to the supplied cable or buy another IEC mains cable with a UK 3-plug pre-fitted. The unit is small in size and takes up very little space.

First one lasted more than 10 years, finally got a little weak this month (September 2019). It was connected and protecting our computers and hard drives 24/7! Almost forgot we had it... 11 trouble-free years! You can't ask for more than what this BK350 gave us. All pros, no cons.

We used to sell a lot of these to a couple of our regular clients. These are a great size/function/cost combo for someone with a typical office desktop setup - PC, couple of monitors, desktop printer, etc. Small enough to keep relatively hidden under a desk but will provide more features and (potential) longer run-time that the smaller, cheaper options that APC sells. Recommend.

Needed to replace my APC ES350. So I decided to go with this model since I have the larger 1500 versions that have been running for years without a problem. It has been a few months now using this for my modem/router and it has performed amazing. What I replaced was actually the second ES350, which honestly are junk, they typically die within a year and replacing the battery only extends this another 3-6 months before the rest dies, usually killing a good battery inside. I went through 2 ES350 models within 30 months which is abysmal when my XS1500 models have been running for years flawlessly (only need to replace the batteries every 3-4 years).
Good Points: I have more than one of these UPSes. They are very reliable and roubust. The other reason I like them is their support for Linux. The software that comes with them, for automated shutdown and monitoring, is open source.
I got it as fast as promised and at a reasonable price. APC has been around for years. My item (CS350) will safely manage a single computer in the event of a power outage or worse yet, a brown out (or low voltage situation) Contrary to the description, it didn't include a serial connector but rather the more common and modern USB connector. Simply connect the internal battery, plug it in, and let it charge for a day. That's it. Peace of mind at a reasonable cost. I should have done this years ago!
Easy battery replacement and small footprint make this an excellent home or small office UPS. Just note that this system won't last very long after a power failure so, if you are looking for a 'bridge to generator' or 'bridge to safe shutdown' this is an excellent single user UPS. If you need 'continue to run' performance and longevity you might want to look at something a little bigger and if you are a multiple workstation operator this one is 'right out'... This model does not have an external battery connection but adding a secondary battery would not be difficult for a "GEEK" like me and that would give more time to make the shutdown decision.
I use this product to hold up my mission critical desktop computer until the main whole house battery backup system switches in to avoid a loss of power reboot.Product is quiet, small, and integrates well into my system configuration.
old software documentation doesn't match the software, which is odd since the software itself hasn't been updated in 5 years so how old does that make the documentation? I replaced the battery in my UPS but the software (v3.0.2) reflects I have less than 1 minute of battery. The documentation says to reset the battery replacement date, but where? It does not say, and looking at the most recent (again, 5 years old) software interface provides no indication where I can do that. Nor is there any place to trigger a battery self-test, which is also mentioned in the documentation. So, if I can't get the unit to recognize a new battery I may just change to a different vendor. In the apc forums someone said they used a really really old version of powerchute (v1.x) and in ... Moreold software documentation doesn't match the software, which is odd since the software itself hasn't been updated in 5 years so how old does that make the documentation? This shouldn't be necessary. Plus, this site no longer provides those other versions for download so how am I supposed to try that method if I don't already have an old version archived on my computer from a previous download?
This is the older model designed to work with older (windows XP)software. It has less online bells and whistles when compared to newer models but I find it invaluable to protect my older electronics during brownouts and blackouts. It also has less of a chance of getting fried than the newer mdels. Thanks to a friend I've gotten a dozen APC and Tripp-Lite UPS devices from a company upgrading its electonic protection. Of all the devices I've used, the CS 350 (APCs) have all worked with a replacement battery and have held out for most of this summer - one of them is going through a 2nd, hot and humid summer with the same battery. If you don't mind getting older models that need new batteries, these are good deals. And if you're not putting your computers, laptops, networking equipment, cable TV boxes on these, you're in for one hell of a repair bill. The cost of repairing one of your valuable boxes will pay for itself by getting 2 or 3 CS 350s and putting them up around the house. Do the math1
