API Aquarium Salt 454g API Aquarium Salt, made from evaporated sea salt, is a must-have for your aquarium. Aquarium salt promotes fish health by improving gill function, making it easier for fish to breathe. It also provides essential electrolytes that fish need to reach peak coloration and vitality. These electrolytes may be lost each time you perform a partial water change, and will need to be replenished with API Aquarium Salt. Use API Aquarium Salt in freshwater aquarium tanks when starting a new aquarium, and any time you perform a water change. Care should be taken when using salt in aquariums with live plants, as some plants may be sensitive.

I swear by using API Aquarium salt as an intermediate aquarium enthusiast. Whenever having a poorly cold water or tropical fish I find this usually does the job without the use of the many chemicals on the market it also helps for a better equilibrium.

I use this API aquarium salt in my tank ever since the fish store recommended it when my fish once all had ick. Ever since that outbreak and after they got better I use this salt in every major water change. What I do is I mix the salt with some water in a bucket and then add that to the fish tank afterwards. Fish haven’t gotten sick once since I added this to the regimen

I'm so glad I purchased this aquarium salt and read the reviews I had a few very poorly fish. Some lay on the bottom of the tank some swimming inside down I lost a couple before getting this product but after using this roughly 3-4 days and every fish was up and swimming around as happy as can be thank you so much this is 100% worth the money

Great for keeping fish healthy….always add to new tank setup….and every water change. Last shipment didn’t have packing paper/bubble wrap so a corner came open and had salt crystals all over inside of the box and other items.
I've got two 5.5 gallon tanks sitting side by side on this stand and I LOVE IT. It may have taken me 20 minutes to assemble it, the coloration of it is a beautiful black and it looks perfect in my bedroom. I'd probably buy a second one and stick it elsewhere in the house for a larger tank. The only thing id like is if there were shelves on the inside, but its not that big of a deal as I don't have a lot that I need to store underneath.
Recommended to be use with the pillow to reduce water hardness. Is a miracle, it work. Did not damage life plants.
So I remembered buying this a little while back for my fish just in case something went wrong and saw the reviews that people said it was "Safe for snails". I put some salt in my 10 gallon aquarium tank, I followed the directions (3 tsp is 1 tblsp is what I needed for my tank) and I put the salt in there right after I cleaned my water change and cleaning the fish tank. But the next day all 3 of my nails started to act funny and were not comfortable with the salt I added in the tank which I thought it could help them with brackish water. My betta and panda cory were fine but 1 of my small Blue Inca smalls died, my big Gold Inca snail is still recovering yet she floats more than she does traveling around the tank, and my Nerite snail is barely moving around the tank ... MoreSo I remembered buying this a little while back for my fish just in case something went wrong and saw the reviews that people said it was "Safe for snails". It worked fine with my fish but not my snails...I'm gonna have a separate tank to put my snails in so that way I'm able to treat my fish separately so my snails won't be so close to death.
I have used this specific type of aquarium salt for a while and it’s the only one that I’ve found that doesn’t leave a funky smell or salt remnants in the water. I’ve tried too many that don’t dissolve all the way so we were very pleased to find this one. We use it with our Betta and our Betta fry and it works really well to help with their slime coat and I’ve also heard you can use it for salt bath treating ick but we have never needed it for that particular purpose. Petco also tends to have the best price I’ve found for the 33oz.
Ok so my Betta supposedly had fin rot, he is living in a 1 gal bowl and so I decided after searching a ton of sites for how to treat fin rot they all said change the water and add some aquarium salt for healing. So i went to petco sure enough i found some aquarium salt (this brand). I bought it followed the directions a few days later, his fins were nice n red again there was no whiteness anymore. My betta absolutely LOVES it, I put it in every time I change the water! Highly reccomended for any one whose fish have any disease at all this really relieves the pain and heals as well. Also highly reccomended for anyone who wants to make their fish really, really happy! The salt also improved the water condition/quality.OVERALL: I just love this product! I would buy it ... MoreOk so my Betta supposedly had fin rot, he is living in a 1 gal bowl and so I decided after searching a ton of sites for how to treat fin rot they all said change the water and add some aquarium salt for healing. I had 3 very sick fish, one of them died and the other two were swimming awkwardly and struggled to breathe. I added some of the salts in and within 2-3 days they were all better. Also when my Betta had fin rot, i added the Interpet treatment, which was brilliant, but i found that adding the salts in addition to the treatment, really helped to speed things along and my fish are swimming around my tank beautifully now.
