The 5.9 mm thick form factor is just not suitable for satisfactory acoustics. The speaker chambers are severely compromised. Badly Designed!!. The iPad Air 2, 2018 iPad,2019 iPad all sound so much better thru the onboard speakers. The designers somehow forgot that this is an audio visual device. The screen is top notch though. But for $ 459 the sound sucks. The speakers are tinny and overbright and the sound is just not right. I struggled with the sound for several hours - trying to make peace with it but gave up. Returned to Walmart for a very prompt no questions asked refund. Five stars for the Walmart transaction but Apple gets only 2.

The iPad Air 3rd generation is all the tablet that most people need. You can use the Apple pencil. It has a better camera than my 12 mp Nikon. It has great stereo speakers. And if all you want to pay for is 64 gb, you can store a ton of music and lots of photos and still have about 30 gb. If you want to store videos, you may want to kick that storage up a notch. The new processor is supposed to be great. I know it is fast, but not sure I would know the difference from an Air 1 iPad. The colors seem more vibrant. The screen is a nice size at 10.5 inches, which I really like. I tell myself this was worth it over the basic new $399 iPad, and it is, at least in my mind.
Shopped around for the best iPad for my current needs and found that this model sits nicely in the middle of the lineup. It replaced my well used first gen pro which was beginning to show its age. The new pro is great but it's more than I need and I wanted something more powerful then the basic entry iPad. I saved a few hundred dollars and went with the new air. So far I'm enjoying it's light weight comfort, strong battery life, sharp screen and quick reflexes. I had heard that iPads were the best tablets so I decided to try one!!! I bought the iPad air because I wanted the retina screen and the A12 bionic chip. I have been using my ipad air almost every day and I am learning about Apple os and having a great time doing it. I bought an open box product and I can't tell it from a brand new one!!! This iPad is the only tablet that I can use outside even on a bright sunny day!!! I am so glad that I bought this iPad air and I would very highly recommend it!!! I have had several Android tablets and this iPad beats them all.

Best iPad with Touch ID. (If you can get this for as much as a 7th gen iPad) Essentially a 2017 iPad Pro with 2 fewer speakers, no flash on back, no ProMotion display but the average user will not miss these. Packaged with the same processor in the iPhone XS, should last a good 4-5 years. Rumors of the new iPad Air are that it will take after the 2018 iPad Pro form factor. If youre not a fan of Face ID or can do without, this iPad is a great bargain!
My battery was dying quicker on my iPad Air (1st gen), but I really liked it. This newest iPad Air (3rd generation). Is nice. The screen is a little bigger, and it has the Touch ID and the ability to go dark. I like that because its not so hard on my eyes. I work on computers at work that glare and the bright screen bothered me. Not anymore with the dark screen. So overall, slightly bigger, slightly better.... but Ive always lived my iPads.
This purchase is to replace my older iPad Air. I’ve not had it long, but I’ve noticed the Air 3 has a larger screen with a very crisp image, more volume for audio playback and sharper photos than my previous iPad. Plus I now have 64GB - my old one had 16GB. Podcasts seem to download faster on this Air 3 and the battery holds its charge nicely. I’m sure there are many other impressive features that I’ll find as time passes, but for now I’m very pleased with this purchase.
