I have an iPhone Mini and an iPad, plus an older Windows PC, but I wanted to complete the set and go full on Apple. All Apple products just seem to work better than the Google or Windows items I have used before. It actually started when I bought a cheap MIDI keyboard, hoping to pair it with my iPad. When this didn’t work I also heard of an interest free thing at PBTech. Realising that now was the time to go Mac, I did. Luckily Finance Now agreed (thanks, guys!) so I took my beautiful rose gold machine. I later bought a new mouse, because I forgot how much I hate track pads. With the introduction of Apple's M1 chip, this model brings significant improvements over its predecessors. While it has some minor downsides, they can be easily addressed. Let's take a closer look at its positive aspects and provide simple solutions for any negatives. Pros: Exceptional Performance: The M1 chip's integration with macOS delivers impressive performance and speed, making everyday tasks such as web browsing, video streaming, and document editing incredibly smooth and responsive. It can also handle more demanding tasks like photo and video editing with ease. Excellent Battery Life: The M1 chip's energy efficiency allows the MacBook Air to offer exceptional battery life. You can comfortably use it for a full day of work without needing to recharge, making it perfect for students, professionals, and frequent travelers. Sleek Design and Portability: The MacBook Air's slim and lightweight design makes it highly portable, allowing you to carry it around effortlessly. Its sleek aluminum unibody construction gives it a premium look and feel, making it a pleasure to use. Retina Display: The 13.3-inch Retina display provides vibrant colors, sharp details, and excellent viewing angles, making it ideal for watching movies, editing photos, or simply browsing the web. The True Tone technology adapts the display's color temperature to the ambient lighting for a more natural viewing experience. Silent and Cool: The M1 chip's efficiency not only contributes to the MacBook Air's battery life but also keeps it cool during heavy workloads. The absence of a fan ensures a completely silent operation, allowing you to focus without any distractions. Cons (with easy solutions): Limited Port Selection: The MacBook Air (2020) features only two Thunderbolt/USB 4 ports and a headphone jack, which may be limiting for users who require additional connectivity options. However, you can easily address this issue by using a USB-C hub or dock, which will expand your port options and allow you to connect multiple devices simultaneously. Limited RAM Configuration: The MacBook Air comes with a standard 8GB or 16GB RAM configuration, with no option to upgrade. While this might not be an issue for most users, those who require extensive multitasking or heavy software usage might benefit from the extra RAM. To overcome this, optimize your workflows, close unnecessary applications, and use cloud storage to reduce local memory usage. Limited Storage Options: The base models of the MacBook Air offer 256GB or 512GB of storage, which might not be sufficient for users with extensive media libraries or large file sizes. However, you can overcome this limitation by utilizing cloud storage services or using external storage devices like portable SSDs or hard drives. Integrated Graphics: Although the M1 chip's integrated graphics are impressive for an ultrabook, they may not be sufficient for demanding gaming or professional video editing needs. For users with high-end graphics requirements, considering an external GPU or opting for a more powerful MacBook Pro model would be advisable. In summary, the MacBook Air M1 13.3-inch (2020) is a top-tier laptop that offers remarkable performance, exceptional battery life, and a sleek design. While it has a few minor limitations in terms of ports, RAM configuration, storage options, and graphics capabilities, these can be easily resolved with external accessories or by opting for alternative models. Overall, it's a fantastic choice for individuals who prioritize portability, productivity, and longevity.

Best mac I have ever owned (and have owned G5 Cheesegrater, mac mini Intel machines, macbook, macbook air (intel)). This thing is really amazing for the price - especially when on sale at $800. I bought open box for $865 early in 2021 and no issues. Just traded into Apple last week for $515! Got great use out of it for two years and trade in value was excellent. Waiting to get the 15" Macbook Air that is supposed to be released June 2023. THAT will be the perfect machine (assuming they don't do something stupid with design/features).This thing runs Windows 11 and Ubuntu 22 faster than a native install on a "windows" PC. Just BLOWS them out of the water and not by a little - the M1 ARM processor is very fast - at many things - so even if don't like MacOS - just buy ... MoreBest mac I have ever owned (and have owned G5 Cheesegrater, mac mini Intel machines, macbook, macbook air (intel)). Done and Done. For what you pay/get you can't do better for general use machine. Battery life ridiculous - lasts for whole day of use no problem. One benefit of buying this older machine is Apple designed these with 2 SSDs (effecivetly a RAID configuration) which is twice as fast as the M2 machines (unless you get the upgraded storage). So, buying the base model still nets you performance gains you won't get on an M2 based machine.

Overall the performance is way better than what I upgraded from (chrome books and minimal function type laptops), the general user friendly nature of it is *awesome*, many great perks. My only qualm- For being as well spoken of and highly regarded- I expected *more* in performance such as...being able to handle a few+ internet tabs open, adobe acrobat with a decently dense code in it, some Microsoft apps, and idk, maybe other small things...but alas- it often times "pre-crashes" on me? Where it prompts me to force-quit apps to prevent failure, etc. I bought this...so that would stop happening! Guess I need an even *bigger* 256SSD/8GB Memory/Everything- Not enough!? o.OI'm not running any crazy programs or whatever, I'm a pretty simple PC/MAC user honestly. Oh well, guess I'll wait/suffer another 5-10 years to get another upgrade xD

I needed to upgrade my 2017 MacBook Pro and recently got into shooting and editing video. Knowing I needed more horsepower than what I had traditionally purchase-a middle of the road graphic design setup-I sprung for a top-of-the-line M1 Max build with a 13 screen. I also have a larger, 16 model as a work-issued computer, and I have to say I don't notice an exponential difference with the larger display. I usually keep my laptop plugged into an external monitor at home but like the portability a laptop offers when needed. Even if you just use the screen of the laptop as your main display, I would still recommend saving a few bucks and going with the 13. I like to keep my laptop in a padded sleeve inside of my backpack for extra protection while traveling and the extra size of the 16 gets to be unwieldy. Even without the extra protection, the smaller platform will travel better and more easily fit into most backpacks than the larger 16 model. The new M1 Max chip hasn't disappointed and screams through footage way faster than my previous machine. Thank you Apple for bringing back all the ports thus streamlining the download of footage and photos while on the go without the need for another dongle or adapter. Overall, a solid upgrade over previous models.
