Love the long cord and this fast C charger I think it's called.I have gold jacket as it was a last minute buy so maybe will get a different color later that closes w/o a magnet like my older one IF they still make that. It's a more of flat gold color meaning not over the top shiny, very nice and calming shade. The iPad to me felt a bit looser in the cover/jacket but that was for the keyboard option I'm sure which is nice since I have a partial painful torn rotator cuff and can't reach up with my arm right now very well.I'll use it w/o the keyboard out of habit and use the stand provided at times I like along my QVC cloth stand. I like the stand even for my phone. The camera is so much better then my iPhone bought 5+? years ago. I bought the iPad with more storage. Great purchase!!

Essentially you're getting 10.2 inches of a big screen with universal apple pens available however only apple 1st gen works with this and not 2nd gen.

I’ll just share why it works well for me:1. I have an iPhone, so being able to toggle a setting to receive and place calls on my iPad automatically linked to my phone is really convenient.2. I can send or receive iMessages (texts from anyone else’s iPhone or iPad) without even turning on the calls feature, above, and ditto for FaceTime Audio and Video calls.3. Apple’s App Store is still king of the app stores, and because we can’t load apps from outside sources, I don’t have to squash the malware that phished itself into mom’s Android phone.4. Apple is much more likely to be approved for use in schools (exams etc), though Chromebooks are also now deeply entrenched. I’d say iPads dominate grades 1-6, Chromebooks take over high school, and iPads replace notebooks in college classes (with MacBooks dominated the dorm and apartments desks).5. 64gb of standard storage is a significant upgrade over the 8th gen and matches the 10th gen, with almost three times the available (after iOS and pre installed apps) storage on prior 8th gen entry level iPad.6. 3gb of RAM handles App switching slightly faster than the prior 2gb.7. It’s fast. Faster than almost all Android tablets even now.8. Very accurate colors and great brightness make for better Netflix. Before hunting for HDR, make sure your brightness is turned up higher first. A lot of people dial down the brightness, which lowers the contrast range (HDR is all about expanding that contrast range limit). Some negatives:The 10th gen and Air have stereo speakers on left and right sides in landscape, this 9th gen has both of them on the right side. The 10th has USB C, meaning simpler thumb drive transfers IF you have already upgraded to C connected thumb drives. HOWEVER, third party Lightning to thumb drive standard A are now cheaply and readily available, and work fine for me with my existing thumb drives. The camera on the 10th is in the top middle landscape location now. However the camera on the 9th was super upgraded to 12mp and Centerstage, although left in the original iPad location. With Centerstage and improved optics I’m ok with that. This 9th is still current in April 2023 but should be upgraded in the fall. I don’t think Apple will discontinue the concept of two entry level iPads though, just because the 10th is too expensive.

Good entry-level tablet for general use

This iPad is currently the least expensive current model offered by Apple, and it's sufficient for just about any general task. The core chip (A13) is nearly three years old as of the time of this review (May 2022), but it's a very capable CPU. If all you're looking to do is basic web browsing, email checking, streaming music and/or videos, and using social media apps, this tablet is plenty for your needs. If you're doing more specialized tasks, such as photo editing, music creation, or anything else which might eat up storage, you might want to look for a model with more than 64GB of storage.Despite Apple having a good track record of providing OS updates for their devices far longer than what's offered by its Android counterparts, the lack of storage expansion ... MoreThis iPad is currently the least expensive current model offered by Apple, and it's sufficient for just about any general task. I cringe when I think of the millions of these devices that will be in the landfill in ten years. Despite Apple's efforts at providing a recycling program, the reality is that very few people will use that option. Instead, Apple should move to a design which allows for an end-user replaceable battery to keep the device usable for years to come.(PS - it's also time to ditch the lightning connector and fully move to USB-C!)

Meet the new Pad, same(-ish) as the old Pad
23 May 2022

I bought this 9th-gen to replace a 6th-gen (which was given to another family member to replace her iPad mini 2 from 2014), and overall it's not really that different from the old one, which is to say it works great and does everything it's supposed to. It's a bit faster than the old one, but I don't really play games or demand much of it so the fact that websites load a few fractions of a second faster for me is neither here nor there.Slight pros: The new front-facing camera is noticeably better, and it's nice to have a slightly bigger screen.Slight cons: I wish there was a 128GB version b/c 64GB seems a little too tight while 256GB is much bigger than I'd ever need. I know the Air has better speaker placement. Apple knows exactly what it's doing here to encourage people to upgrade, and I decided not to pony up.Also, it's ever so slightly disappointing that the color choices are so limited - my old iPad was a nice rose gold, which this new one is the regular, boring old Apple silver.First world problems.

New iPad had “OLD Passcode”, Poor Customer service
21 January 2023

I bought this supposedly brand new iPad, FULL PRICE and not labeled refurbished, used, open box or any of that on December 26th. I made my daughter a brand new iCloud account for it and after i did the Touch ID that it prompted to, the Ipad then tells me that it needs the “OLD PASsCODE” to set up Touch ID. How would a BRAND NEW iPad have an old passcode. When the iPad screen timed out I was completely locked out of it and there was nothing I could do without a laptop. Ok, cool, I will just take it return it and honestly I was over it because I spent so much time trying to figure out how to fix a brand new iPad.I took it back about a week later because like most people, I have a job and a life. Anyways, the CSR told me “I am sorry there is nothing we can do.” I then ... MoreI bought this supposedly brand new iPad, FULL PRICE and not labeled refurbished, used, open box or any of that on December 26th. Anyways, the CSR told me “I am sorry there is nothing we can do.” I then told her to “figure something out because I wasn’t leaving with the iPad and without my money refunded.”Then the supervisor immediately told me he couldn’t help me either!! Finally after I started getting angry he did. Not sure why a PAYING CUSTOMER would have to get angry to return a faulty iPad I bought from them. Besides that he kept asking me the same questions over and over like he didn’t believe the information I already gave him. Including that I had just bought the iPad a week prior, why couldn’t I return it if I wanted to for any reason besides I just didn’t want it?!Finally, he plugged it into a computer so I could take our iCloud account off of it which I might add took only 5-10 min. At the end he said “As long as it is in return window then I can refund it.” Why would something i had for only 1 week be outside of the return window! It took almost an hour and a half with my cranky toddler in toe to finally get out of that store and the majority of that time I was giving the same information to them over and over again and not being helped!! I almost cried twice from frustration!Yes it’s hard believe that a brand new iPad had an old passcode on it but that is in fact what happened and instead of giving me customer service I felt like they just didn’t want to deal with it. They waste more time not helping me then actually helping! It asked me if I would recommend this item but honestly I don’t know because I never got to use it.

Nice iPad

Awesome iPad. I bought this while it was on sale and it’s a great iPad for the price range. The 64gb is a bit small but it will work if you don’t install a lot of apps you don’t really need. The battery life is excellent even when using a Bluetooth keyboard and other things that strain a battery. I’m happy with this product but keep reading as I’ll share my story about purchasing this as an “open box” instead of new.I initially bought this online because I live 60 miles from a Best Buy. They had “open box - excellent” listed for about $10 less. I expected this to be basically a new unit with the seal broken on the box or something. I received a used iPad in a plain cardboard box with some nicks/marks on it, along with an Insignia branded generic charger. It looked ... MoreAwesome iPad. I received a used iPad in a plain cardboard box with some nicks/marks on it, along with an Insignia branded generic charger. It looked like I was sent a used return or a demo/floor model. I felt like this was deceiving since I had basically just paid full retail price for a used unit with who knows how many hours on the battery and screen. I returned to the unit to my closest store 60 miles away and got a brand new unit.My advice is never buy an “open box” or probably even an advertised “refurbished” unit from Best Buy. It’s probably quite a gamble with whatever product it is.

Personal Entertainment Device Review

Folks certain products and services in life are more of a crash course. Call it random chance, call it fate, call it destiny or whatever you wanna call it. Somehow I ended up with this ipad. Lets startThe ipad was something out of this world honestly, the clarity of the screen is the best that I have seen. You can access just about any IOS application through the online store. My girlfriend was in support of me getting the ipad, and I am glad she did.I am new to the IOS universal platform, so there was a hint of cultural shock at first which took me few months to shake off. After that came the updates that IOS demand, It took me a while to trust the system, yet eventually I was able to be up to date on all the IOS updates. After that came the updates that IOS demand, It took me a while to trust the system, yet eventually I was able to be up to date on all the IOS updates. I can say for sure that the device can operate smoothly on old and new IOS software. At the end of the day, I am more of a classical fella. I ended up choosing to stay on the old operating system. It might not be the best out there, but it has been tested by generations of IOS users. As for battery life, my number one priority is to extend the life expectancy (of the battery) as much as possible. My girlfriend voiced that sometimes safety is an issue, since sometimes it does heat up after heavy use. Yet I am sure that slow and steady is the best way to go with this device. It does not have a fan, and it is not noisy. It gets the job done with minimal sound. The box came with a charger for sure.As for screen size, my girlfriend and I are hard believers that size does matter when it relates to personal entertainment gadgets. The size is great and you can stream videos on it nonstop if you plug it in.As for the color, the grey is a great option. It looks professional, slick and cool. Makes you look smart too.#Personal-Entertainment #Selfcare #BestbuyrocksThat's all folks :)
