Too small. Poor button layout. No face recognition!

I was hoping to downsize from my 12.9 iPad to a smaller easier to carry model. I found it is definitely too small compared to other iPads and other tablets on the market. I found the power button is definitely in an inconvenient location when useing sideways. Finger is always shutting the screen off. The volume buttons are definitely in a poor location. Being this is the latest and greatest with AI and a new processor it would finally have face recognition. Nope finger print scanner is old technology. Sent it back.

This truly is "THE iPad." At least for me, it's the perfect size for doing things that are just more comfortable to do on a *slightly* larger screen than an iPhone. The split keyboard makes it super-easy to type on if needed; using a stylus (or an Apple Pencil Pro, which I don't have) for navigating, handwriting & taking notes is outstanding. Consuming media, reading, social networking, email & even texting is made super-easy on a device of this size. The screen is bright, the iPad mini is very portable, and is so lightweight -- often times I have no need to bring a larger device when on day trips or short travel days. Any screen that's larger becomes cumbersome, heavy if connected to a keyboard case, and defeats the purpose of having a large-enough screen to do ... MoreThis truly is "THE iPad." Because of the small size, I find myself taking this with me just about everywhere. I can drop it in my bag or just carry it with me.It runs my production tools very well, and has fast performance. I keep my documentation in Evernote, so everything is at my finger tips. All my apps run just as well on this as on my ipad pro with a few obvious exceptions.Video editing is limited. [Rewarded Review] Color very light
17 November 2024

I purchased this iPad mini to replace the previous version simply for more storage space. I was surprised it was not as easy to set up from my other device, as setups usually are. I worked around it and got everything set up manually. Not sure what happened, but it’s all good now.The color is so light, you can barely tell it’s purple. Wish the color was a little deeper. I was able to use the cover from my previous device, happy about that.Battery seems to last a couple days so far with light use. I’ll see how it goes as I use it more.No complaints, just a slight upgrade.

[Rewarded Review] GREAT Tablet!
2 November 2024

GREAT tablet! Hardly worth the money but the hardware & software are at the top of the retail market. My only complaint is with Best Buy. A Best Buy employee shipped me an iPad mini with a different Serial Number than the one listed on my BestBuy.com receipt. I also purchased AppleCare+ through Best Buy, which was applied to the iPad listed on my receipt rather than the iPad that was shipped to me. It took me several phone calls to Best Buy & Apple, over the course of more than a week, to rectify this issue. Automated systems work great until human error causes a cascade failure. A word of advice: Never purchase AppleCare until after you receive your Apple product.

22 November 2024

Great iPad! As a pilot, this is a very important tool in my arsenal. the size and weight alone are great. It can run foreflight or Garmin pilot easily and with no hick ups. and since apple has now increased the base storage size to 128 GB, I no longer have to worry about filling up the storage so quickly! I can comfortably download manuals, PDF's, and videos used in training without worrying about storage. That begin said, the only complaint I do have (more like feedback), is that I wish it had a brighter screen. sometimes in direct sunlight it's a bit hard to read.other than that, its an amazing iPad!

I really do not understand what people are complaining about with the new iPad Mini 7th Gen. I purchased the iPad Mini 6th Gen WiFi 64GB for $399, prior to knowing about the upcoming official iPad Mini 7th Gen, which happened a few days afterward. So, I returned the Mini 6th Gen and pre-ordered the Mini 7th Gen WiFi 128GB for $499. The Mini 7th Gen has the A17 Pro chip compared to the A15 chip in the Mini 6th Gen. The Mini 7th Gen has double the memory (8GB) over the Mini 6th Gen (4GB), offers 128GB-512GB storage rather than 64GB-256GB, and also has Bluetooth 5.3, rather than Bluetooth 5.0. Yes, the Mini 7th Gen is currently $100 more than the Mini 6th Gen, but it is also 3 years newer, which means it will receive official iOS updates for 3 years longer. For me, I think it was worth the additional $100.

The iPad Mini 7th Generation is almost identical to the 6th gen, but with one key addition: Apple Intelligence. If you’re into note-taking, reading, and writing with the Apple Pencil Pro, this is a near-perfect handheld device. It fits comfortably in your hand, making it great for casual use and light web browsing. Just don’t expect it to replace your gaming iPad, its not for that. For pure readers, though, the Amazon Kindle Paperwhite Signature is still the best choice. The e-ink display is unbeatable for long reading sessions.I grabbed mine with a price-match and a trade in my base model Mini 6. Otherwise wait for the 8th edition which will have a better screen.I give it 4 stars since I can’t tell much difference over my Mini 6.

I’ve had 3 iPad Mini’s over the years and all of them have been excellent in these ways:Reliability, ease of use, secure, durable, productivity and overall satisfaction.I’ve grown spoiled by the extra real estate offered by the iPad vs. my iPhone…Certain applications and tasks are facilitated by a larger display, spreadsheets, editing drawingings and detail work to mention a couple things. What really stands out, reliability and durability. The places, the miles, the number of times it’s been dropped on hardwood or tile and it’s never quit! The new iPad Mini is an excellent purchase which I’d buy NQA…
