This my overall experience review of the iPad Pro 10.5 inch cellular model. I just ordered the new iPad Pro 11 inch 2020 model. I ordered the pencil of course, and the new smart folio keyboard. The primary reasons for the upgrade is because I cannot go all day long on my current iPad (battery wise); it has always been this way. When I am working, which is what I utilize it most for, it starts to die, and I have to plug it in. It’s quite frankly, annoying to do this. But I still love it and here’s why: My run with this iPad has been pretty good. I would say, it was a great start to the iPad Pro series, to get my feet wet, and to learn and do lot’s of things with it. I would love to take this thing to it’s highest potential. But the battery life just really gets to ... MoreThis my overall experience review of the iPad Pro 10.5 inch cellular model. I just ordered the new iPad Pro 11 inch 2020 model. I would say, it was a great start to the iPad Pro series, to get my feet wet, and to learn and do lot’s of things with it. I would love to take this thing to it’s highest potential. But the battery life just really gets to me. I am hoping that the battery life on the 11 pro is significantly better. If not, it will be returned. Because people don’t just have $2g’s to throw down on the iPad itself and all of the accessories that go with it. Keyboards: I have both the Smart Keyboard and the Logitech Smart Keyboard. I have to say, staying within the apple line makes it really worth it. Keeps it significantly thin, and easy to lug around, although I found this iPad quite heavy? The Logitech is made of plastic, and does not have a premium feel to it; also, it adds quite a lot of bulk - the keyboard would also come off when I was carrying it in a bag, and it was annoying that I could not flip it around to hold the iPad. There’s a lot of “moving parts” and the blacklist keyboard typing experience just wasn’t worth it for me. Apple Pencil: I LOVE the Apple Pencil. I use it for everything. All my work, taking notes, even just to tap and scroll on the screen sometimes after I clean it so that I won’t get finger prints on it. The only con here is the battery life. It looks a little weird plugging it in to the bottom of the iPad, but that’s a token “Apple” thing - and I was proud of it. I am vastly looking forward to the new Apple Pencil as it charges right on the side, and I don’t have to worry about it. Good upgrade. Cases: Boy o boy, I have spent a lot of money on cases. I needed to find the perfect one that, not only covered the back, but was thin, had a space for the smart connector, and that had a place for my Apple Pencil as well as a place for the little annoying cover that can get lost so easily. It also needed to go nicely with a screen protector (where it doesn’t make it bubble up in the corners). For this, the Poetic Clear back cover with pencil holder works wonders. It meets all of the above criteria. And it’s cheap enough that you can replace whenever in the case that the clearness starts to turn yellow (as clear cases do over time). This little simple jammy is 12.95 on amazon. Screen protectors: I have gone through many of these as well. My favorite by far is a matte glass screen protector - kinda like PaperLike? But much cheaper ($12 Amazon). It really has made the writing experience much better, and the glare almost non-existent which is really cool. Another thing you should look into, if you are on your iPad for long periods of time, are the Anti-blue (retina protector) screens, which tend to be a bit more expensive BUT are totally worth it because your eyes stop tearing/hurting if you are looking at the screen for long period of time (like for reading). Must have apps (for me): Good notes: My personal Journal and notes for anything personal that I need to jot down. It’s just a really great simple app - I feel like Apple made this app. Notability: for work notes. Great writing experience and good to be able to keep things separate. Entertainment apps/social networking apps Financial apps: Car insurance, Banking, anywhere you can pay your bills through the app - it’s just convenience. Overall: There have been so many things that I have tried to preserve the battery life on this thing, that it has made my overall great experience, turn into, “well I love it, but the battery life is super important to me” kinda thing. I have turned off all the graphic options that make it buttery smooth; I disconnect all Bluetooth devices - I turn off location on almost everything, and make sure that no apps need the network are connected. I even turn off notifications and push mail - which is essential to my line of work. These are things that I just do not want to compromise or shouldn’t have to. Not for the the premium $ you spend for the convenience? Again, this iPad has made me an iPad Pro lover for life. I won’t even trade it in, or give it to anyone cause I’m attached. It is that great of an experience! But I’m glad I’m gettin a new baby.

This is a fantastic tool and is inching closer and closer to an actual laptop replacement. With the release of Catalina, I suspect is will get even closer. If all you're doing is web browsing, chatting, and checking Instagram, this might be overkill. I believe it's best to treat it as a machine that's 80% laptop and 20% tablet. The 15in model I bought is a bit heavy to hold like a tablet over the long term, but serves that fuctionality very well when needed. However, it's once you snap on the keyboard and start using the Apple Pencil that this thing really shines. It lacks functionaltiy compared to MacOS or Windows - chiefly the ability to run full desktop apps. While I find I can word process, draw, etc. with ease, I often find the apps lacking in quality and ability compared to their desktop counterparts. This means that I often find myself falling back to my MacBook or Windows PC when it comes time to really start working hard on something. All of that said, it's a great tool to have in your toolbox and has it's purposes when not wanting to lug a full laptop around with you.

I love apple, I don’t think I could ever make the switch back to android. The iOS is just such a more user friendly, intuitive interface. The tech is impressive with great camera features as well. The best part is all their product run seamlessly together. I don’t have to worry about connections and different apps stuff to make all the android brands work together. I be an Apple person for life I think. This iPad is very cool. Along with the Apple Pencil I could do all kinds of things with procreate and good notes. I do all my digital planning, multiple notebooks, and my financial planning. Highly recommend.

This is my fourth iPad. I had the original one, the iPad 2, the iPad Air, and now this Pro 10.5. Between all the other models, the upgrades were incremental. A few more features, a tiny bit less weight. The nearly four-year gap between my Air and the Pro was the longest, and the difference is astonishing. This iPad is freakishly fast. There's no lag to anything--changing screen orientation, opening apps, working, watching videos, whatever. It's the smoothest touchscreen device I've ever owned. The extra 0.8 inch over the traditional iPad is actually noticeable. The screen is just gorgeous. The extra 0.8 inch over the traditional iPad is actually noticeable. The screen is just gorgeous. The True Tone display automatically provides the correct and most eye-pleasing color temperature for any lighting. The screen is a fraction of the reflectivity of my iPad Air, making for a far better reading experience. Also, there was one thing I hated about the iPad Air, which was a downgrade from previous models: the screen glass was cheap. It felt hollow, thin, and plasticky. It made noise when your fingers hit it to type. Not this new iPad Pro. The screen feels rock-solid, and your fingers type silently. Also, the Air's loud, clicky Home button has been replaced by a luxuriously quiet one with Touch ID fingerprint authentication. And I love that you can now summon Siri with your voice--no need to reach for the iPad Pro and hit a button unless you want to. For those wondering if this is good laptop replacement...it is not. Artists will love what they can do with the Apple Pen. However, even with a keyboard, productivity pales in comparison to a nice PC Ultrabook (which can also feature a touchscreen, pen input, and fingerprint authentication) or MacBook. The iPad shines as a consumption device, not so much as a productivity device. Watching videos, communicating with friends/family, reading from a full-color Kindle app, or getting lovely, multimedia magazines on the device is a joy. Games and apps will keep getting more and more futuristic due to Apple taking the lead in Augmented Reality. And those front and rear cameras...OMG...those I will let you discover for yourself! There's one more thing...The iPad is so easy to set up and get going, they don't even include an owner's manual. You could thoroughly enjoy the device for years without reading one sentence of instruction. DON'T make that mistake. There is indeed an owner's manual, and it's hundreds of pages long. If you really want to see how magical your iPad Pro can get, open the iBooks app, do a search for "iPad User Guide for iOS(current version number)," and download the free manual. Even something as small as the section on the many ways you can use the onscreen keyboard is priceless, but there's a massive amount more. And i bought the apple pencil that works great too.

Awesome companion device

This iPad has been such a game changer for me. I upgraded from the iPad Air 2 and I am happy I did this. I decided to buy this one over the brand new iPad 9th gen because of the 120Hz refresh rate, 600 nits brightness, higher quality rear camera and quad speakers. I use this iPad for almost everything - notetaking at school, annotating files, doing assignments, consuming media and other internet shenanigans. Paired with an Apple Pencil, It is a great notetaking device and has allowed me to greatly reduce the amount of things I carry in my bag, as I've got all my notebooks and textbooks on the thin and light iPad. Not only is high refresh rate great for notetaking, it also makes gaming so much more enjoyable. Media consumption is AWESOME, I absolutely love the speakers on this tablet and the 4:3 aspect ratio is perfect for watching older shows, this is something that I highly appreciate and it is a feature I miss on the newer iPad designs. No curves on the display means that no information is cut-off, and I value this a lot. As far as performance with the A10 chip, I have not experienced any major slow-downs. For it's age this tablet still performs very well, I have only experienced some frame drops when scrolling through the UI and gaming for longer periods of time. For battery life, I get around 6 hours on a full charge with about half brightness and Wi-Fi and Bluetooth always on. There are a few things that I don't like: Charging takes pretty long, even with the faster plug. The Apple Pencil charging method is silly. Lightning port. I do recognise that the last two issues have been resolved with the newer models and I am happy for this. Overall, this product has exceeded my expectations and is one of my favourite purchases of this year. If you can find a good deal on this, get it!

Ditch that laptop. IPad Pro is the one

Ive had the iPad Pro for just over two weeks now and all I can say is wow! The iPad Pro, is a super powerful device, which I have not been able to get to break a sweat. It has handled everything I have thrown at it, without a hint of slowing down. Complex image editing (Pro level layers, composites etc) using Affinity for iPad, RAW processing in RAW Power as well as some lighter edits in Lightroom CC (third party Apps available to purchase from the App Store), make the iPad Pro a full spec Pro editing studio on the go. Video editing in iMovie, didnt even slow it down. The CPU and GPU power inside, is awesome. The P3 gamut, ProMotion display, with its variable up 120fps refresh, combined with the optional Apple Pencil, make this a fully featured artists or editors tool. With a greater colour gamut than sRGB (P3 is almost up to the full AdobeRGB standard), makes your work POP. Everything looks amazing. Im absolutely bowled over by the iPad Pro. But I am glad that I decided to make the transition from laptop to iPad Pro with this 10.5 model. It is brilliant on every level. It did take a little adjusting initially, but after a few days, using my desktop, just seemed so last century. The iPad Pro, is much more fun to use, with a feeling of involvement. You do actuallyfeel like you are creating when using this thing, as opposed to using it, like a desktop / laptop makes you feel. With the right Apps, the iPad Pro can easily replace a laptop. For students, get the keyboard and Pencil, so you can type to your hearts content or make notes with the Pencil. the possibilities are virtually endless. IOS 11, with the improved multi tasking capabilities, really do open up an entirely new range of possibilities of iPad Pro, which is why I took the plunge to assess how it could fit into my photography workflow on the go. I havent been disappointed. It has easily exceeded my expectations and has quickly become by go to device for everything I would previously have done on a traditional computer. Battery life is phenomenal and will easily last an entire day, but if youre going to be doing a lot of video editing, grab the optional USB-C 29W fast charger, for quick charge capabilities. I would highly recommend the iPad Pro. It is a completely versatile device and with a little adjustment, can easily replace that laptop.

Get it for the 120Hz refresh screen
14 December 2021

Not the latest and greatest, but performance is on-par w/ current 4th gen iPad Air, which is to say it is FAST. The laminated screen that goes almost to the edge is beautiful. WiFi is not the latest but plenty fast around the house. The cellular model is only 4G LTE, but you're not going to be streaming movies on the cell networks anyway. I don't use the iPad to take pictures, so the camera is secondary to me. Perhaps the best part is if you use the iPad with the Apple Pencil 2 to do any kind of sketching, drawing, or note taking, the 120Hz refresh on all the iPad Pro's (including this one, but not the Air) makes a tremendous difference. It's like writing on paper due to the lack of screen lag that you'd see on the lesser iPads. I pad pro gen1

It nice having four speakers sound is better then phone but need speaker for bass.. if movie or music but for portable would still rank it high for sound quality! It ties in with the phone so you can recieve and make calls without phone being next to you! The creek size is great and am glad I didnt go with 12.9 as this is big enough for what I do to carry n tote some times larger is just larger! The 120htz screen is way fast and picture quality is very nice and of course with all of the adjustment you can set things the way you prefer as to contrast brightness and many others settings you can adjust! Its light and a little over a pound with the cover and dont have the pen yet so cant comment on that however I did put a glass on it for protection and it does not ... MoreIt nice having four speakers sound is better then phone but need speaker for bass.. if movie or music but for portable would still rank it high for sound quality! The typing screen is hard to adjust to from phone but they offer three choices to set that up so Ill be on number two shortly !! Hate all of the set up stuff!! Its great for the money and I dont know that youd get much more other then a few things to have latest and greatest! Perfect for what I use it for movie and you tube portable occasional texting larger is better there!!

Item NOT as described, non-working pencil
9 January 2022

This item was purchased for a Christmas gift. The case had been listed as having one broken corner, but still usable. Upon arrival, the case had two corners that were broken, meaning that the case could no longer be used. The pencil was unable to be paired with the tablet. We tried on multiple other tablets, did troubleshooting with apple care online and had to take it in for a technition to tell us the pencil was not working and would have to be refurbished. The pencil was also missing the "female to female" charger (which was initially not a huge concern as the pencil should be able to charge into the ipad without it, but since the pencil is not working at all...) Having two items that have to be completely replaced makes this a complete waste of money and a huge ... MoreThis item was purchased for a Christmas gift.
