12.9 inch iPad Pro is a BEAST!

The size is just right for hand held and taking it out with me all the time (EDC). 256GB is the right size for me. 128GB is a bit small these days. I now can edit photos and videos, carry lots of files with me without relying on icloud or any mobie or wifi coverage. The camera lens are absolutly beautiful. The iPad Pro is a good size table at 12.9 inches, so it tends to be a little heavier and larger than many tablets however, that is not an issue for me. The graphics are outstanding, and the screen's clarity is very nice as well. A camera is an upgrade from previous models. The M2 chip is incredibly powerful and an upgrade over my previous model. This model has great battery life over my previous model which is a huge benefit in my view. The handy new Apple Pencil Hover feature is very cool and easy to use. The only downside is the placement of the camera, seems a little odd where it is located (seems a little off-centered) and you just have to get used to it but overall a great buy even if it is a little pricey. I can highly recommend this iPad

Excellent tablet, excellent service, excellent pri
23 December 2022

I am a casual user, a bit of photo enhancement, a bit of family movie creation, emails, some sketching, some teleconferencing. Coming from the 2020 iPad Pro 12.9, this one is a revelation. It is faster (very obvious when exporting movie videos from iMovie, Quick, DJI, davinci), brighter screen and the new features for the Apple Pencil, ahh, just great! If you are only in for video, web, email, zoom etc (no video, photo or sketching) I would say, stay with the 2020 or even 2021 (pretty sure you can get really good offers right now). If if you are even a little more than a casual user, this is the one for you. And always check Best Buy first, they carry the best prices for Apple products

Ignored the negative reviews, I’m quite happy.

Saw nothing but negative reviews on YouTube and the “enlightened” reviews mafia. Glad I ignored them. This is an amazing iPad. Yes, it’s not for people who just got last year’s model, but for those of us dipping a toe in today, it’s a fabulous piece of tech. I don’t want a MacBook. I don’t need/want a laptop. I want a quality tablet experience and content processor, and this does the job amicably. I’m a news hound, and this does magazines and news posts perfectly. In fact, I’ve noticed a lot of news sites set up their pages for all the crap ads on the sides and leave the main content alone with the larger tablet. It’s great for gaming, movies, and just about everything else I’ve thrown at it. For me, it’s been worth every penny.

Laura's review of APPLE 11" iPad Pro (2022) - 128 GB, Space Grey

Pros: This is my second iPad Pro, the previous purchased in 2017. It’s still the usual good standard and does everything that I need it to. (I use mine for the purpose of digital drawing predominantly.) I’m very much a fan of the Apple Pencil (not included) being able to charge without having to be plugged in. (Just having to touch the side of the iPad.)I also like the fact that it uses a more universal charging port with the USB-C now. It definitely makes things easier for if I’m out and have forgotten my charger.Cons: As always, the price is astronomical for what you’re getting. I actually really wanted the 12.9in version but just couldn’t justify the extra expense for a couple of extra inches of screen. The battery life doesn’t seem all that great either. As I said, I predominantly use mine for drawing and it seems to run down incredibly fast. I wonder how fast it would drop if I were using it for something more intensive.

My teenager loves it.
10 January 2023

My 15 yr old daughter was so happy to get this for Christmas. I also purchased the Magic Keyboard and the Pencil. I had a hard time choosing between this and a laptop, since she writes a lot of papers for school, but my daughter is artistic and enjoys that the iPad Pro can be both a laptop for school work as well as using the ProCreate app to learn how to create digital artwork. (She usually draws or paints). She of course also loves to FaceTime her friends that have iPhones since I stick with Samsung for cell phones. I decided to set her up her own apple i.d. so I wouldn't have to share my cloud storage with her. Been used every day since Christmas and worked perfectly with no complaints.

So disappointed!
14 March 2023

I’ve had iPads since they were introduced. I decided it was time for a new one and splurged on the iPad Pro. I bought it on 2/11/23. I was so excited. I thought it was perfect. It was until 2/20 when the screen froze and there was no way for me to get it started. I couldn’t turn it off, I couldn’t even get the Apple logo to reset it. OK, so I went to a service center. They reset it and got it to work. I had to restore everything. Well, today (3/14/23) it happened again. I once again tried the internet solutions, but so far nothing has worked. I can’t restore it from my Mac either. I’m going to try and restore it from my PC tomorrow. I’m done for the day.I’ve had Apple products since the original Mac. I got an Apple Watch late last year. So I’m a fan girl from Day 1. Never have I had a dud like this iPad. Apparently this is a common problem given all the potential solutions on Apple Support and You Tube. If I can’t restore it myself, I’ll take it back in and see if the service center can “wipe” in again. And then… I’ll try to trade it in. For something else. I’m so done.Save your money.

What an improvement from my fifth generation iPad
4 November 2022

Coming from a fifth generation iPad, it was hard to get used to not having the button at the bottom. Also other things to get used to with new iOS, like when I swipe up from the bottom, the taskbar pops up first, when I’m used to minimizing the screen first. So you kind of have to continue swiping to shrink your browser window, or search through apps, not sure if I’m explaining that clearly, but when you swipe up to get all the open windows and apps, and you can flick them up to make them disappear, that’s the function I’m talking about. I also IMMEDIATELY noticed this speaker, improvement, and how light weight and thin the unit is. Though it’s not the HDR screen the larger pro has, I think the quality is great, again a big improvement from my iPad fifth generation. ... MoreComing from a fifth generation iPad, it was hard to get used to not having the button at the bottom. I also IMMEDIATELY noticed this speaker, improvement, and how light weight and thin the unit is. Though it’s not the HDR screen the larger pro has, I think the quality is great, again a big improvement from my iPad fifth generation. It looks bigger than my iPad fifth generation, but it doesn’t feel any heavier or harder to hold. I have not bought the keyboard for it, but I’m thinking about it as it is seems from online reviews kind of handy to not drag my laptop inside or further taking out my laptop, plugging it in, and going through all that when this is always charged and in my room. I can swipe through emails, search the web, check out YouTube, social media, real estate, all very easily, while lying in bed without any discomfort. I added a slim shell case, as I don’t like those other cases that cover and prop up, and feel bulky holding while sitting in bed, or on the couch. Battery also last twice as long as my four or five year old fifth-generation. A dislike is the power down feature , though, I think I can fix that in settings, and screenshot doesn’t feel natural either. It’s set up where I pinch the top button and top volume button meaning I have to grab the top corner together with fingers on both hands and doesn’t feel easy to do in hand and I have to rest the tablet on my stomach to hold pressure while pressing. Old method better and more secure using the two palms of my hand on two opposite ends of the tablet made it much easier to hold without feeling like the tablet is gonna fly out of my hand, or fall on the ground. Also the old method was easy, either horizontally or vertically. I guess I have to get used to it if I can’t fix it in settings, which I know there are a few settings like that which I need to explore. So I’ve heard it before, and now I agree, Apple needs to bring back the button!!!

it's Big! It's Heavy! Overkill for 95% of Users

I must have at least 7-8 iPads over the years. I currently have 2 iPad Pros (2020/2021) and just purchased the 12.9 iPad Pro 2023 version (M2). I am not a designer but use the iPad Pro every day totaling at least 3-4 hours daily for emails, web browsing, reading, travel, etc.I figured, if the 11" works, why not go BIGGER? Well, I just discovered that the 12.9" iPad Pro is totally overkill for most users who don't actually use the pen feature or draw/design with it. In fact, I'm not sure who actually uses the pen feature daily but I'm sure they exist.Coupled with the Magic Keyboard, it's my iOS go-to for ease-of-use if I'm sitting at my desk or on a stable/flat surface. However, the size difference between the 11 and 12.9 is something to behold. In the past, I held the older iPad Pro with 1 hand in bed or reclining on my office couch (when taking a break). The 12.9" is HUGE and it becomes tiring after a while. It is really heavy when coupled with the Magic Keyboard to nearly unusable on your lap.I thought Stage Manager would help me with multitasking ala my Windows computers and 2-in-1 Surface Book. Nope. Stage Manager is still a "work in progress" and it's not worth the learning curve and tweaking. I tried it for a week and turned it off completely.Plus - I'm getting a bit older and I've increased the size of the icons and text without feeling that I've lost space. It seems to be more energy efficient. Not as warm as the 11" version. It's bright! I can use it with the Magic Keyboard as a shield and weapon.Con - Weight and the virtual keyboard is too spaced out for ease of use. The Magic Keyboard weighs more than the iPad Pro itself. Stage Manager is gimmicky and not worth it.Is the iPad Pro necessary? If you don't actively use the pen (which I own but rarely use) and you don't really need the brighter screen (which is too bright at night of all things), stick with the 11" iPad Pro. Your wrists and hands will thank you.
