The Apple iPad Pro 12.9 inch is amazing for graphic designers and artists of all kinds. While it’s price is certainly high for most consumer tablets, it is by far the most superior non-commercial drawing tablet on the market today. In combination with the Apple Pencil, the iPad Pro makes digital drawing feel almost like drawing on paper. With a wide variety of drawing apps available on the App Store your can find the program that works best for your techniques and change a few settings to get the feel of drawing on it just right. That’s just for drawing. The iPad Pro is also basically a mini computer, like any tablet, that allows you to check email, social media, play games, and surf the web easily. The huge 12.9 inch screen makes this experience lovely. Digital artists can say goodbye to having your phone screen dim on you just as you were trying to look at that reference on your phone. I would say that if you’re in the market for an iPad for a creative field or business field with a focus on note taking and presenting then this is the superior tablet choice. Especially if you’re already someone with an Apple phone or laptop since connectivity is seamless between devices for Apple. However, if you’re just looking for student tablet or a tablet to read ebooks on, check social media and play games then I would suggest a lower cost model. If you don’t have any Apple devices at all already then I would look into what Microsoft or the other tech companies have on offer as well.

I love this iPad, I use it constant at work for graphic design and repeating patterns. I just ordered a replacement for it yesterday so I’ll be doing a review on my new one as well. Mines gold not space grey, I love the gold aspect white area around the screen, The screen cracked from excessive use just not paying attention when I placed it down but that didn’t effect the quality, The only downfall is the way that it charges it’s pen, you can’t charge the iPad and the pen at the same time without the provided extension.

I use my iPad every day for work, not as a computer replacement but as as enhancement. For the most part I review and annotate (many) documents, take notes during meetings, create vector graphics, and make presentations (it is better for that purpose than a laptop, IMO). And yes I also use it for entertainment. Because I use it so much, I decided to upgrade and I don't regret the decision despite the dent in my wallet. The form factor is seriously much more of an improvement than I expected; my wife still refuses to believe the screen is the same size as the previous model (it is). The apple pencil is a slight improvement in terms of operation -- it feels a bit nicer, and I won't miss the removable cap -- but the convenience of attaching it to the side of the device for storage and charging is a game-changer. I no longer have to remember to charge it over-night every few days. I also have the smart folio and it is an excellent improvement over the previous version. The iPad Pro is simply the best-in-class tablet device. The screen is beautiful, it is crazy fast, and the apps are excellent. Since I store my files on iCloud, integration is seemless: documents that I annotate appear on my computer within seconds after changing them. So it is not a laptop replacement for me, but I used it almost as much as I use my laptop.

This is a fantastic tool and is inching closer and closer to an actual laptop replacement. With the release of Catalina, I suspect is will get even closer. If all you're doing is web browsing, chatting, and checking Instagram, this might be overkill. I believe it's best to treat it as a machine that's 80% laptop and 20% tablet. The 15in model I bought is a bit heavy to hold like a tablet over the long term, but serves that fuctionality very well when needed. However, it's once you snap on the keyboard and start using the Apple Pencil that this thing really shines. The biggest drawback I find is that it's still classed as a tablet, but to me it appears Apple is trying to make this a laptop replacement. iOS (and now iPadOS) is not a replacement for a full OS. The biggest drawback I find is that it's still classed as a tablet, but to me it appears Apple is trying to make this a laptop replacement. iOS (and now iPadOS) is not a replacement for a full OS. It lacks functionaltiy compared to MacOS or Windows - chiefly the ability to run full desktop apps. While I find I can word process, draw, etc. with ease, I often find the apps lacking in quality and ability compared to their desktop counterparts. This means that I often find myself falling back to my MacBook or Windows PC when it comes time to really start working hard on something. All of that said, it's a great tool to have in your toolbox and has it's purposes when not wanting to lug a full laptop around with you.

BEYOND ME
7 June 2021

I was really happy to open the box on my new iPad Pro, but I find out that my judgement was too soon. I kept looking for some sort of a guide or a brief booklet on how to set-up my new Pad, but there was only a little foldout-sheet with very limited information. My computer skills are really strong without some sort of a instruction guide.to get over some of the hurdles. I attempted to contacted Apple to find an Instruction manual, but the foldout-sheet had the wrong email address. Then I had another point of discouragement when the foldout-sheet recommended that I have either my Apple cell phone or pad close, for it would help in formatting the iPad. I have neither. The iPad Pro is above my skills. It might make a great pad for someone who has better skills than mine.

Item NOT as described, non-working pencil

This item was purchased for a Christmas gift. The case had been listed as having one broken corner, but still usable. Upon arrival, the case had two corners that were broken, meaning that the case could no longer be used. The pencil was unable to be paired with the tablet. We tried on multiple other tablets, did troubleshooting with apple care online and had to take it in for a technition to tell us the pencil was not working and would have to be refurbished. The pencil was also missing the "female to female" charger (which was initially not a huge concern as the pencil should be able to charge into the ipad without it, but since the pencil is not working at all...) Used - Very good Condition for a great price

The post advertises as refurbished, so I expected that it would not be brand new. The packaging for the adapter was original apple packaging that was damaged in the corners and had some scratches on the outside that were only visible when held up to the light at an angle. The actual adapter was wrapped in original-esque apple plastic. Taking his off revealed the adapter, which at a glance looks brand new. There is no visible damage when there is no glare on the casing. When held at an angle to the light, I can see some small, less than 1cm scratches, which I count about 4 of them. I can also see some specks of some sort, I'd say there are about a dozen of them on the adapter. The box with the cord in it also had some damage around the corners, but opening the box I ... MoreThe post advertises as refurbished, so I expected that it would not be brand new. If the cord is not brand new, I would be surprised. Came rolled up perfectly and I see no imperfections at all.Price-wise, a brand new MacBook adapter is $79.99, but that doesn't come with a 2 meter USB-C charging cable like this one did. The adapter and cable would have been $99.99 if I bought directly from Apple. And there is a massive shortage of these right now, so I would have gotten it in 2-3 months as opposed to the 3 business days i took me to receive mine.Functionally, it works great. My MacBook charges at a rate expected from a 96w adapter. Overall I'm happy with my order, I took a risk by buying refurbished and got an almost like-new product. Of course how good the packaging is doesn't mean much for the product. It works, looks great and I would buy from this refurbished again.

iPad Pro cannot replace a laptop - Don't Buy
6 April 2021

I have used all different highend laptops, convertible laptops/tablets. I had Microsoft Surface Pro and also have Surface Book2. Both of them can be used as tablet or full blown laptop. But when it comes to my recently purchased ipad pro 12.9 (with magic keyboard) it is waste of money. Apple added a key board to give look and feel that this tablet can work as your laptop but other than browsing, few editing projects, using Microsoft office to certain extent it cannot do much. Forget about other browsers available on iPad Pro the apple's safari browser is not capable of opening many browser based apps and meeting (Facebook meeting, Microsoft team web etc..). If you are a developer then you can buy it for fun other activities but you cannot use it programming ... MoreI have used all different highend laptops, convertible laptops/tablets. Apple tried to copy Microsoft surface pro of having keyboard but Apple failed
