Just a superb iPhone and a noticeable upgrade from my former iPhone 11 Pro. Got my 13 pro in the Sierra blue finish in the 256gb model. The Sierra blue is a gorgeous finish, with the stainless steel finish on the sides. This phone overall has a true premium feeling to it, it feels like a premium upscale device. The Ceramic Shield glass is a lifesaver, because I am someone who drops their phone A LOT, lol. As far as performance wise and battery life, this 13 pro doesn't disappoint not even the slightest. The zoom seems much better than the 11 on taking photos.I have used iPhones since the original for home and have to use android at work, so can compare. Honestly, I tend to avoid my android work phone at all costs as for me I find it much more complex to use than an iPhone. Obviously iPhones are never cheap and I buy outright, as don’t want to be locked into a phone contract. But with very you do get the good options of buy now pay later etc, so it means I can buy then save each month to pay it off in full when it is due.

The lighting cable in a nutshell killed this experience entirely for me because everything in my house is usb type c, even my cheap gadgets are usb type c, now I need a bunch of adapters, and did i mention that data transfer on the lighting cable is so slow its about as painful to watch as an old man with a hemorrhoid sit on a cactus?? And now I need to take 2 separate cords like bro just stop apple, let the lighting cable go already. But yea that right there killed it for me, I can't have this phone simply because of the lighting cable, it is just a huge inconvenience for me. But if the lighting cable does not bother you for some odd reason, here are a couple more problems. Third major issue is overheating issue, boy o boy does this phone have alot of horsepower under the hood, but as soon as you even think about pushing the horsepower, this baby gets HOOOOOOOT especially if you use navigation then forget about it. This thing gets so hot it lags and then dims the screen so much to the point where you can't see the display, even with simple task the screen just keeps diming and its hugely annoying, obviously there is no proper cooling for all of this horsepower in this phone so it's pretty much a gimic at this point, I mean if you are a person who just calls, then you will have no overheating issues, but if you use navigation alot, STAY FAR FAAAAAAAAR AWAY FROM THIS PHONE. Fourth problem is no always on display so you have to keep tapping the screen to see your time and notifications, im not even gonna get into this, $1000 and no always on display? Thats a major L. Fifth major problem is I can't see my battery percentage on the top right corner like I could with my 7 plus or android phone, so I have to swipe the screen down to see it, why apple? And the last problem is no fingerprint sensor, now I don't understand why they force you to have one or the other, why not both face unlock and fingerprint sensor? Ever heard of options apple? Anyways I can talk about this phone forever and I really did want to like this phone but I'm gonna have to stick with android until they at least add usb type c for God sake. Stay away from this phone.
Upgraded from an iPhone 11 to 13 Pro. Cameras a bit better since I take a lot of pictures on the water and in the woods. Beyond that ehh not a huge upgrade from 11. Things I hate: while slimmer than 11 the camera on 13 protrudes out from the phone so no longer does it sit flush on any surface. To me incredibly poor design choice by apple and super annoying and potentially heightened risk of damaging the phone. Utterly baffled by this. The other major thing I absolutely hate is apple force feeding USB-C onto consumers. iPhone and AirPods are the only apple products I own, the computers are garbage for business people so with that said USB-C adoption and lightning cables are only Apples thing. Oh and despite having 800mbs Wi-Fi network (1GB hardwired) in my home, tested on my iPhone 11 the 13 has actually downloaded slower. Again baffled by all these performance upgrades that don’t translate into a faster experience.
I had a Google Pixel 2XL. Google stopped security updates. I didn't see the increase from a three year update limit as a great enticement to stay in their ecosystem, when Apple was still supporting the iPhone 7 or 8, six or more years after issue.The transition wasn't silky smooth, but after a week, I was OK with iOS. The stupidest thing about the physical layout of the buttons is placing the power button opposite the volume up button--pressing the power button often led to taking a screenshot if I had enough pressure on the volume up button. Exact same story as the iPhone 12’s.They work great for 3 months. Then there’s a glitch here and there. No problem. Everything has a glitch now and then right? Then the glitches start taking time to fix. 2 minutes, then 10 minutes, then an hour, then seemingly unfixable.So now at 9 months, notifications in all categories are sporadic. Their phones get more expensive and yet the quality gets worse, and their idea of "innovative design" is to change the size of the phone or type of ports so you need to buy all new accessories with every upgrade. I loved my Iphone 11 pro but it ran out of storage faster than my 8 pro (even though they had the same gb) so I was forced to upgrade since I couldn't find an 11 pro with more storage. I had high hopes for the 13 pro (my bad lol). I got it in January 2022 and had issues from the very start. Sometimes when I begin to film, the entire screen is blurry as it seems it's trying to focus on something that isn't even there, or while I'm filming it decides that what I'm focusing on isn't important anymore, it goes blurry and even tapping on the screen does nothing to help it focus on what I'm filming. Aside from those camera issues, the phone loves to freeze up and crash apps I'm in the middle of using (I never leave multiple tabs open so it's not a memory issue). It also has a fun habit of randomly locking up the touchscreen so I'm unable to close a window or click on a link. Apple support is of no help either. They don't seem so have a solution for any of these issues or like to ignore that they even exist. Don't waste your money on Apple, the quality and value just aren't there anymore.
Really good phone. The screen is very bright and crisp and clear. I don't love the camera lenses sticking up on the back top because it doesn't sit flat and even with an Otter case it slides around easily unless I put it face down. I wish the volume buttons were on the side of the power button. I like the silent mechanical switch. I don't love the notch on the top but you get used to it. I was forced to iOS because I wanted bluetooth streaming with my new hearing aids. I still prefer Android but have accepted iOS and see it does have advantages, but not enough to where I'd prefer it if I had a choice. FaceID works really well to access the phone -- much better than finger id. I don't like that I must use Apple's Contact app -- wish I could use Google Contacts -- ... MoreReally good phone. Google Calendar doesn't allow you to set a custom event reminder tone -- only Apple Calendar can do that -- so calendar reminders only get a generic sound that isn't very distinct. Another bummer is that Apple continuously takes over the keyboard from my chosen 3rd party keyboard and I have to reset it back. My last big nitpick is the way Apple does preferences which is ridiculously dumb where you only have some app preferences within the app but other important preference must be accessed via the Settings app which itself is a nightmare organization with related settings broken up into too many places -- mega pain.
