That was for the iPhone 11, the iPhone 12 Pro, the iPhone 13, and now currently the iPhone 14 Pro with 256GB of storage. Not bad paying a total of $1,800.00 when my newest one retails for $1,100.00That being said this new iPhone 14 Pro is worth every penny that it costs and is by far the best phone Apple has made to date. If you are considering either buying the iPhone 14 or the iPhone 14 pro and are torn between the two, my recommendation is that you spend the extra $100.00 because the differences between the two are worth it. The last phone I bought was the iPhone 13 and I purchased that because I didn't feel I needed the extra camera and the non pro model seemed to suit me just fine. Now think about having the 48 megapixel camera on the 14 Pro verses the 12 megapixel that's on the iPhone 14, and it doesn't make sense to purchase anything other than the Pro. You also get ProRes video on the Pro model which is worth considering as well, and something that I don't believe is available on the non Pro model. The Dynamic Island is also something that's only available on the Pro and it's pretty cool. The chip is better on the Pro model as well, going with the new A16 Bionic chip verses the A15 Bionic chip that was on last years iPhone 13 Pro. Between the two models this year, the Pro model also has better battery life.Other than these features, the two phones are identical but the one feature that makes going into the Pro worth the extra money over all the other features is the 48 megapixel camera and getting the Telephoto lens on top of it. It takes photos in 48 megapixels using any of the three lenses.I've been using the iPhone 14 Pro for two weeks now and the photos that it takes are amazing. I like a lot of detail in my pictures and this new iPhone hasn't disappointed me at all. The camera has had a nice improvement also in night mode over the camera in the iPhone 13. All in all I must say that Apple has finally made a significant change this year and it's worth upgrading even if you are going from last years model. I know that I can finally wait two or three years now before upgrading again because this new phone is way ahead of any phones that Apple has made in the past.

Primarily the vulnerability of the camera lens cluster on the back side of the phone. I have the OtterBox - Defender Series Pro Hard Shell on the phone which is a very solid and trustworthy case. But even with this the backside glass has cracked after a average fall on the ground. There must have been a rock or something that contacted the glass around the camera lenses which is a solid piece with the entire back of the phone. The glass under the case is shattered. I have the case left on in the picture for the following reason. Despite being a totaltech member with Applecare+ through BestBuy, the Geeksquad stated they are not doing repairs on the 14s and would have to send my phone into Apple for a 4 day turn around.Additionally, the battery life was not as expected with this phone. Using the camera drains the battery very quickly. I have also found that if you don't close the camera app, even when locking the screen it drains battery.I also experience odd video streaming issue with this phone where the video spaz out seemingly fast forwarding with no sound. I have to either stop or back step the video and it is often not in the same place. This happens on multiple apps.

I would not recommend this phone
30 October 2022

As a telecommunications employee I have 16 Apple devices active on my accounts and I absolutely would Not recommend upgrading to the 14 Pro. It’s a beautiful phone with a fantastic screen and high quality camera, however it’s unreliable. I just upgraded before a recent vacation that I took with 2 people that have older iPhones (XS & 11) and I was running into all kinds of connectivity issues that were Not occurring on the older XS & 11. Maps would not load ( both Google Maps & Apple Maps, or they was extremely long load times, a single picture message could take 2 minutes to send where as the XS & 11 took seconds. Apps on the phone constantly crash & must be forced closed / relaunched. It hasn’t even been 30 days, I contacted Apple after 24 days ( again I was out of town on family vacation ) and explained the issues as well as troubleshooting, such as restarting the phone & resetting network settings several times, but was told since the phone was activated more than 14 days ago, a simple exchange was out of the question. Now I feel I just dropped $1,000 ( before tax, and after recommending the sale of more than 20 iPad/iPhone devices to friends/family ) on my accounts, & now I am either stuck with an unreliable lemon, or a poorly designed “5G” iPhone 14 Pro. It’s not a network connectivity issue with AT&T I know, because the other 2 iPhone users I was with, also have AT&T cellular service & the never experienced any connectivity issues whatsoever. Only the new 14 Pro experienced issues, while the XS & 11 continued to work perfectly fine on AT&T cellular data. I wish I could get me $1,083 back and just go back to using my reliable XS. Not as pretty, but at least it always worked!

Is it really an “upgrade” from your current smartphone?
5 February 2023

I upgraded from OnePlus 7 Pro to iPhone 14 Pro and I was using iPhone 6 before my Oneplus smartphone. When I switched from iPhone 6 to OnePlus 7 Pro, it felt like a big leap forward because the difference was night and day between the two phones. But when I switched from OnePlus to iPhone 14 Pro, it didn’t feel the same way. Every flagship phones released since 2018 are so good that now switching or making an “upgrade” to another doesn’t feel like a hug difference. Same was the case with me. iPhone 14 Pro is a great phone, don’t get me wrong but it is just that the upgrade didn’t really feel like an “upgrade” in a true sense. Now coming to the phone itself-Design & Built:This is where I did notice the premium in-hand feel of the phone. Stainless-steel, squared edges, everything adds up to the overall build quality of the phone. Albeit, I did notice some discolouration on the back glass of the phone and that was bizzare and unexpected.Display:My previous phone had a better overall display because it had no notch or obstruction on the front and had more pixel density and higher resolution. But, iPhone 14 Pro is definitely a lot brighter outdoors thanks to its 2000nits peak brightness and that is an underrated feature.Performance:Again, nowadays all processors have become so good that you barely notice any difference in day to day usage, so perhaps A16 is the most powerful processor available on a smartphone, you won’t notice such a huge difference when it comes to performance, in general.Battery:I bought the smaller iPhone 14 Pro so I would say it definitely has less battery as compared to it’s bigger version (iPhone 14 Pro Max) but it is good enough to last me a whole day with around 30 percent left. And, that is an upgrade from my previous phone which I had to charge twice a day. But, if you’re a heavy user, do consider the Max version.Camera:I have a lot to say about the cameras. The sensors are way better than my previous phone, I admit. But, there is over-sharpening across all the lenses which is so annoying, I mean I can see wrinkles, scars and a rough skin texture that’s not even visible to the naked eye. I hate the processing it does. The only work around is to shoot in RAW, but the files are so large that it will eat up the entire storage rather quickly. But if you love taking pictures of nature, etc (basically anything other than humans) this is going to take some fabulous images. The low light performance has improved a lot and the cinematic video or video capability, in general is the best I’ve seen on a smartphone.Verdict:If you have a phone from 2018 onwards and has no problem in it and works just fine, don’t buy the iPhone 14 Pro or any phone for that matter. Use it till it becomes unusable or the companies launch a smartphone that is an “upgrade” in true sense. And, if you have plethora of money to just waste, do whatever you want!

I upgraded to the 14pro for better battery & the camera. This iPhone has 6gbs of ram the A16 chip, Satellite SOS, & the dynamic island. The dynamic island is a love hate feature, as it is in the way of everything and way more intrusive than the previous notch. The cameras are better than the previous 12mini & 13 I have owned. However even with extra lenses, and power, the photos look worse than my 13 did 1/2 the time. I am trying to figure out how to make it the best it can be. The battery is actually worse than previous models the only way to make the battery life better is to turn off 120HZ an use 60HZ. Which defeats the purpose of the screen. So there are some trades off and it's my 1st pro model, so there are some user settings to adjust to. It feels like a huge improvement of what the 12 & 13 line were supposed to be.My favorites on this is the audio quality, screen brightness outdoors, and just how fast it is.However the reason I give 3 stars, is I received my iPhone via mail. The screen stopped working after a day, and I had to go to a Verizon store for 3 hours to get a replacement unit. The Verizon staff was lovely, but Apple was very rude.My 2nd (replacment) 14pro I have I noticed does a screen flicker from time to time. The iPhone 14pro frozen screen or screen not working is a common problem. So is battery life for 8 hours with the always display feature off. There will be more updates to fix this, but just a buyer beware warning.I say it's an upgrade to an extent as the notch is now a pill that's interactive that takes up more screen. You get better audio, cameras (depends how the phone feels not the conditions) a huge screen improvement (can kill your battery based off settings) It charges faster.I would say if you're leaning towards upgrading, I would possibly do a 14plus or wait for the 15 series, if I had the option I truly wouldn't have upgraded as it was a pretty bad experience, and I am experiencing screen issues already 3 weeks in to treating this iPhone more carefully than any other.

My first Pro = excellent phone!
18 September 2022

I’ve been an iPhone guy since the 4s (and was an Apple Watch guy until the Garmin Epix 2nd gen but that’s a different review). I had an iPhone X, skipped the 11 (I think), briefly had a 12 and, most recently, had the 13 mini. The mini was a great size but the crazy masses think that bigger is better so the mini is no more. The 14 Pro is my first Pro iPhone and it is excellent. Face ID is faster than ever (although I maintain that Touch ID was more convenient). The screen is gorgeous and responsive. I think True Tone was released with the X and I immediately turned it off: the screen was constantly changing color and it wasn’t any sort of great feature at the time at all, IMHO. Well, I finally decided to turn it back on after four years and, holy cow!, did Apple ever ... MoreI’ve been an iPhone guy since the 4s (and was an Apple Watch guy until the Garmin Epix 2nd gen but that’s a different review). Well, I finally decided to turn it back on after four years and, holy cow!, did Apple ever improve it in the meantime! Like I said, the screen goes from being ho-hum to gorgeous now! Colors really pop after having turned True Tone on. (Maybe all the rest of you already knew this but I get a little tired of Apple over promising and under delivering so I tend to not use features when they under deliver but then I miss out when the reality finally, eventually, maybe catches up to their promises.) The Dynamic Island is a ho-hum feature out of the box so I’m looking forward to them doing more with that and hopefully not just eventually killing it off like they did with Force Touch (under delivered). The always-on display is okay and battery life is definitely better than it was on my mini. The trade-off is that phone is too darn big but there’s always a trade-off in life. I’m using the Accessibility setting’s double- and triple-tap settings for Reachability and Home, respectively (in case that helps anybody out). Lately, Deep Purple is a great color but I’ve got it hidden behind a case.

One week in, feels like a downgrade
7 October 2022

First let me say I'm an Apple fan when it comes to phones, and I have only had iPhones since smartphones were launched. I'm coming from an XS. Can confirm the service issues. Calls dropping many times over where I had no issues before with my XS. I'm in the middle of a 5G Ulta/5G Nationwide/LTE widely covered smaller metropolitan area so I wouldn't think I'd be having problems. Right after calls are dropped, cannot immediately call back or text either, so definitely a network problem. Battery life, as many have stated, is no better than my last phone when it was new, and is depleted by new features. You can turn off the always on display to preserve, but then you're rendering one of the selling points useless. Cameras may be upgraded but won't focus properly in ... MoreFirst let me say I'm an Apple fan when it comes to phones, and I have only had iPhones since smartphones were launched. Battery life, as many have stated, is no better than my last phone when it was new, and is depleted by new features. You can turn off the always on display to preserve, but then you're rendering one of the selling points useless. Cameras may be upgraded but won't focus properly in certain third party apps (google lens and Marco Polo in low light, for example. Phone won't focus close up in google lens and in Marco Polo, kept going in and out of focus in low light conditions). I don't have extensive use of the camera yet but when you're using the camera app directly, the phone focus seems fine. I know this is definitely personal preference, but having come from the sleek & thin XS, this phone feels like a boxy downgrade and all the side controls feel like they're in the way. I know this return-to-old external design was rolled out with the 12, but if you've got an 11 or older and are bothered by sensory things/tactile experience, go to the Apple store and try this out in hand before you buy it. The main plus for me is the dynamic island. It makes viewing critical info from other apps a breeze. Still on the fence as to whether I will return this. I don't usually go for the newest tech but it made sense financially with the trade in value, otherwise I'd have been paying the same price for older tech. So I'm hopeful iOS and third party apps will catch up and the 5G connectivity issues will be resolved.

iPhone Pros keep getting better and BETTER
18 September 2022

It's been a few years since I got a new iPhone and I just traded in my iPhone 12 Pro for this beauty. A couple of years without an upgrade have presented me with not one but two years worth of improvements. First of all, compared to the 12 Pro, the 120hz refresh rate that started with the 13Pro is a welcome addition. Navigating the screen is just so snappy and smooth. As far as 14Pro improvements over the 13Pro, it's obvious the always on display is very welcome! When I'm working on my laptop on my desk I have had the 12Pro on the handy magnetic Mophie stand that I bought on the Apple website, but it mostly was just a blank screen. Now, with the always on display, when I have my iPhone 14Pro on the stand it shows the time and date and a couple of sports/news ... MoreIt's been a few years since I got a new iPhone and I just traded in my iPhone 12 Pro for this beauty. Now, with the always on display, when I have my iPhone 14Pro on the stand it shows the time and date and a couple of sports/news headlines at all time. Yes, very handy. I love the unique out of the box "Dynamic Island" that Apple has now put in place of the "Notch That Does Nothing." I think this feature will become more and more handy as time goes by and more third party apps invent ways to use it with their applications. The brightness on the new iPhone 14 Pro came in very handy the other day for me when I was outside and got an important text. I used to have to really struggle to be able to see the screen in bright daylight but now with the 2000 nits on the new Pro, it was so readable! I LOVE this phone. It's getting to the point now that, after being an Android person for half a dozen years, all of the things I loved on Android that weren't available on the iPhone have now appeared. In my opinion, this latest version of the iPhone Pro now has everything I could possibly want on a smartphone. I'm glad I didn't wait for another year.
