A worthy upgrade, even from the iPhone 14

To start things off I need to say that I bought my iPhone off eBay because I wanted/needed one with the physical SIM card slot. In doing so it did cost me about an extra $250.00 which is a lot but I find it worth it to retain the physical sim. The ones here on BestBuy and everywhere in the US is eSim only for those who didn't know. Why is this important? It's important because it will make traveling harder if you want to swap sims. You can't simply pop out your old one to pop in a new one. You have to make sure whoever you’re going through even supports eSim. Whereas the ones WITH physical sims also SUPPORT eSim, making it versatile. You might be asking, why did Apple do this? They did this to try their best to keep us locked into their products. Sure, most people don't mind but for the few who do, like myself find it to be a huge step back because I love switching between my Galaxy S23 Ultra and my Pixel 7 Pro. Having an eSim makes it a nightmare. So, for those who need a physical sim in their iPhone like myself, do yourself a favor and buy one off eBay, it’s totally worth it and if you ever do sell it the phone will be worth more than the ones without the physical sim. ANYWAYS, if you’re still reading this you might be asking what do I like about my iPhone 15 plus and this is what I have to say.1. Size & WeightI love the bigger iPhones, as someone who came from the 14 Pro I am very happy with my iPhone plus not only because its bigger but also it weighs less, its less dense which is a good thing. This iPhone doesn't feel cheap in the slightest.2. DisplayI love the new display Apple put on this device. This new display contains the “dynamic island”. For those who don’t know the dynamic island takes up less space than that notch (found on the regular iPhone 14’s and earlier) which makes it less intrusive while adding some functionality to this phone. This was a new feature they introduced only on the Pro models last year, so it’s nice to see it make its way to this regular iPhone 15/15 plus. As others have mentioned, yes this does NOT have a 120hz display which is sad but understandable because if they were to allow this there would be less people wanting the “pro” model iPhones. Besides that, this screen looks great! Indoors and outside and with this screen now boasting a 2000 nit peak brightness, it should be easier to view on even the most of sunniest days.3. Physical featuresThe iPhone 15/15 plus now have a frosted/matte glass on the back which most people like including myself. It hides fingerprints and smudges. The corners have also been rounded, making holding this phone a joy. Lets be honest though, most of us will keep this device in a case so the touch/feel of this device doesn’t matter too much. It is a nice to have and I am glad they made these improvements.4. SpeakersThe speakers on the 15 plus have been improved! They sound just like the 15 Pro model, meaning there is more bass, its louder and things do sound a bit clearer! I’ve noticed I can now leave my volume at half due to these improvements. The regular 15 did not receive these improvements just to be clear.5. CameraCameras are another thing that’s been improved on these regular iPhones, going from a small 12mp camera to a 48mp camera. What does this mean? It means these devices can capture more details which also allows these devices to take better low light photos. It also allows us to have a high quality 2x zoom/crop without losing too much of the original quality of the photo. This is big to me because I’ve always enjoyed having a telephoto lens on my phones. They allow me to take high quality phones from far away without losing out on quality. If you are someone who finds themselves using this feature often and/or want something with a better camera system then the 15 Pro max might be for you because that phone does have a physical 5x tele lens. But if you are like me who likes/needs a phone to take great photos and videos and doesn’t need that type of lens then this might be the phone for you.6. USB CUSB C is something that’s been long overdue. With USB C that means I only gotta bring one charger to charge all my devices and this also applies to most people, with most devices using this port as a way to charge, transfer data and to connect to a display. With that being said, this port in the regular 15/15 plus can only utilize USB 2.0 speeds. That means it’s going to transfer data such as files of any type slowly. For me, like most people who buy this phone it doesn’t matter because this port will mostly be used to charge my phone anyways. Im just happy I don’t have to bring that Apple cord no more!7. Battery lifeBattery life is a huge one here because with this phone I can easily get 9 and 10 hours, even 11 hours on days that I don’t use my phone much. Its nice having to bring my charger to work knowing Ill easily get through the day and the night until I go to bed.

Great iPhone pro max alternative

The camera, in spite of not having all the bells and whistles you get with the pro models is more than most people will need and pictures/video are really quite nice. The Dynamic Island (no weird notch) is nice and easier on the eyes as opposed to the notch on the older Plus models. The rounded edges look good and the phone feels better in hand. I was surprised how light it is and you can definitely feel that when holding the phone…it’s just more comfortable than its pro max predecessors. Moving on, the battery life is what really impressed me. When I took the phone out of the box it was at 74%. After set up, downloading all my apps, setting those up, and using my phone for 38 hours I still have 34% battery charge left. I should note my usage during that time isn’t what I would call heavy….moderate usage plus set up but still excellent battery drain vs usage. This is a phone you won’t have to keep charging all day. I would also note that in spite of my worries about all the reports of the pro models overheating, this phone has stayed perfectly cool even through the set up and downloading a ton of apps at once. I don’t notice much of difference in using this phone compared to past pro models and for me the user experience simply beats my Google Pixel Pro 8 and the Samsung Ultra. I have always loved how Apple has incorporated biometrics, specifically the Face ID. It makes using the phone so much more fluid when compared to Android’s Face ID and finger print ID. The C charger…all I can say there is FINALLY!!! Love that! What I didn’t like: I got the blue phone and it is more white than blue. While I like the weight and hand feel of the phone it does feel a little less high end than the pro models. That’s being really picky and just posting it for the review purposes to try to give anyone reading this a complete picture. The Plus model has the 60 refresh rate while the pro has the 120. I am in cybersecurity and obviously work with tech daily so I do tend to notice things like that when using devices but again it’s so minor and I would suspect the average user to not notice it in the course of most of their daily usage….gamers on the other hand may notice it a bit more. The camera is probably the biggest difference next to the price. I mention that because the price and the camera features go hand in hand. The lack of pro camera features is probably the most noticeable user experience difference if you are thinking of switching from a pro model but truthfully (unless you use the camera in a professional capacity) it shouldn’t matter much. Comparable pictures look similar in quality but definitely a tier below the pro models and the zoom feature is significantly less on the Plus. With all this being said, for the price difference at the cost of the pro features and the physical differences is a decision for the individual buyer, but for my review I feel there is more value in the Plus model unless you need the specific feature upgrades (or just want them) and don’t mind shelling out another $300+. This phone easily balance the features offered with a pretty good price for the average user and I highly recommend checking it out!

I would recommend this phone - a well worth asset to my life!

Compared to my 6s Plus, I like the screen resolution more. And the user interface without the finger print scanner is much nicer. Unfortunately, the edge to edge screen is partially obscured by the forward facing camera; only an issue in some games but all social media. The most troublesome aspect is the freezing/locking up. This happens using the default fault browser and some 3rd party apps. Also, the 5G does seem much faster, but frequently just stops working. Videos freeze or get choppy. I set the cellular data option to LTE like my old iPhone 6 which never had these issues, but it doesn’t seem to accept the value. I’ve only called my service provider once to try and resolve the issue, but there has been no change. Possession of the iPhone 15 Plus
4 June 2024

The first iPhone 15 plus I purchased I had to return it after about ten days. It had lagging texting. It would randomly text my contacts with no message. Sometimes it would connect other times it wouldn’t and it was driving me crazy. It would randomly text my contacts with no message. And it did this once while I was on the phone with the person I was talking with. That’s when I said enough is enough. I want a new iPhone 15 plus this iPhone 15 plus is possessed. And received my current iPhone 15 plus and this also has an inconsistent lagging during texting. But I’m assuming this is supposed to be this way. However, the other problems I’m not having with this iPhone 15 plus. At least not yet. I’m thankful Verizon exchange my IPhone 15 plus. But I’ve never had an issue with any of them like this. And I’ve been purchasing IPhones ever since IPhone 8 and each year as they debut because it’s always around my birthday. So I get it as a gift to myself. Knowing that it’s usually in October or November and my birthday being 11/18.This is the first year that I’m purchasing late because of the horrible inflation we are all going through. I wasn’t able to do it when it debuted this time. I absolutely love this product and this has been the first time I’ve ever been disappointed and/or let down by Apple and thank you Verizon for coming to the rescue.

Purchase was 11/29. I sure hope I remembered his name correctly!! I traded my iPhone 12 for the pkg deal of iPhone 15Plus, iPad, & Apple Watch. Gave the watch to my grandson- he was the only one in family that didn't have one. The iPad I am going to use for Microsoft 365 Personal. We were hacked on 11/2... computer, all Credit Cards, PayPal using Checking Acct & my Facebook. I will not use my computer anymore, even tho Geek Squad cleaned & found 2 components that were there for the hackers. Happened to us 2 yrs ago same two weeks in Oct. I love the phone. The battery lasts longer & the size is just a little bit larger, which helps me because I have Rheumatoid Arthritis. I have been with Verizon since the purchase of my 1st cell phone. Our daughter drove my Honda to High School & the phone in the car was attached to the area between the 2 front seats. Last installed phone that I had. She graduated in 2001.Thank you for having a wonderful employee...Ryan(?). He helped explain everything I needed to know & was very professional & nice!! A pleasure to have him as my salesman!

The Saga of the phone upgrade
14 February 2024

It’s been 5years since I got a new iPhone and AT&T is in the background taking the thrill and excitement out of it, as usual. I purchased and financed 3new phones and planned and budgeted for the new bill to come. I did this by reviewing the current monthly bill, and comparing it to the upcoming bill with the new phones and had a 30 minute discussion with an Att rep. We came to a final amount the monthly bill would be. The rep recorded the notes into my account and I felt I had done my due diligence in budgeting for the new phones. The 8days later my first bill was automatically debited from my bank as it is monthly but to my horror, aggravation , and anger ATT took almost $400 from my bank acct. This is in addition of the $177 pmt I made at the time of purchase of the phones. I immediately turned off auto-pay until ATT made right the money they stole from my bank account in excess of the amount due. It shouldn’t cost $1000 to activate and upgrade a new phone when you’ve had an account with ATT for 20. It’s rude, and it’s theft. A bait and switch. I’m waiting on my refund ATT.

Time for an AT&T and T-Mobile Checkin

We turned an Iphone with purchase of new Iphone. I've been a loyal customer for 11 years and was quite surprised Verizon they offered my wife $14 for an Iphone 8 Plus. To be fair it had a small crack in the front glass in the corner but glass change for these company is quite small. It seems that once you are a long-term customer you get nothing so I will be looking for another vendor as we have 4 accounts that has been taken for granted. I'm person who doesn't like to switch but it is time to put some work into analyze and switch. I just had the same incident with Comcast where they were charging $80/Month for internet that was $40/Month with the new fiber carrier that entered the market. I'm person who doesn't like to switch but it is time to put some work into analyze and switch. I just had the same incident with Comcast where they were charging $80/Month for internet that was $40/Month with the new fiber carrier that entered the market. It made a call to cancel department only to determine that I had to take the 90 minutes to cancel . Amazingly Comcast called 2 weeks later after I had canceled and replaced the internet and offered the same price. I told them I wasted 90 minutes of my time changing and taking the time to request the change and wouldn't be changing. There is such stupidity in Corporate America. Everything is online and they could have easily checked the local pricing before I canceled. It is the same effort that is going to happen to Verizon and I'm a satisfied customer that doesn't like being treated poorly. Every ad has free I15 phones for changing for even phones no longer useable. It seems you have to leave a company before they wake up so sad because who wants to waste energy on change for similar product. Time for a AT&T and T-Mobile check in.
