The Back Market phone had many scratches on the frame and also a few on the screen. If I ever need another refurbished product, I'm going Gazelle all the way. Never again to Back Market.

This is a great little phone for us practical folks who donât often upgrade but still want a phone with most of the nicer features that are on the bigger more expensive phones. I actually have an old Gen 1 SE still being an awesome little phone that still works great and that led me to pick the newer SE up when it came out. I barely early adopt any new tech when it comes out unless I really believe in it and this phone mostly delivers. A huge bonus for me on this one is it still has the home button. I just prefer having a tactile button that I can feel, you know? As for the rest of the phone, again, decent for the price. Good sound quality, fast, has all the features I want out of a phone. Camera is just OK and takes decent pictures but can be fuzzy when it comes to ... MoreThis is a great little phone for us practical folks who donât often upgrade but still want a phone with most of the nicer features that are on the bigger more expensive phones. It is a phone after all and not a camera so it definitely gets the job done. If you want a better camera though youâll have to shell out for the more expensive phones however. Or, you know, an actual camera. My biggest gripe with all iPhones Iâve used, with this being no exception, is battery life. It seems great at first and within a year or so you definitely notice it become shorter and shorter. I donât know if thatâs Apples forced obsolescence trying to push you to a new phone every year that you really donât need. I donât know if they just use inferior batteries to make money selling you a replacement battery. All I know is that it doesnât matter what phone it is from Apple, the battery will always be a huge let down. This alone is the reason in fairness I can not give this phone 5 stars.

This was purchased to replace an iPhone 7 that was no longer holding its charge. This iPhone SE only needs to be charged once a day rather than at least twice with the 7. My only gripe is that there is no longer a plug provided and you can not use your old lightning cable and plug so you have to purchase a new one with a USB -C fitting. However, the upside of this is that charging is so fast now. I considered purchasing an iPhone 13 mini but Apple have withdrawn this model and I don't like the size of other iPhones. The SE is perfect size wise, easy to put into pocket's and for those of us with small hands. Did not realise how sluggish my iPhone 7 was until I downloaded and used all the additional features provided with the SE. Im still rocking my iPhone SE! I got this phone after giving up on my 7 and have had it for about two years now. Letâs start with what this phone does well: It has the features of your standard iPhone. I can call, text, and access the internet on it which are the things that probably matter most. The 64gb space seemed like a lot at first, but a big chunk of your storage is used up by the system. I donât have many apps and use Google Pictures to store images, so it works out I guess. The phone is easy to use and connects with my iPad and Mac via my shared apple ID. I also really love having a home button and the size of the phone itself is convenient. Now for the bad, the camera quality isnât great. I donât really use my phone to take good pictures and wish it was ... MoreIm still rocking my iPhone SE! I donât really use my phone to take good pictures and wish it was better. The battery life is also not the best (which can be said about many of Appleâs products). Apple needs to come up with a better battery for its products because you need a replacement a year or two into owning it. As someone who tries to be conscious about their consumption, this isnât ideal. You can get your battery changed but that will run you about $100. Overall, itâs a solid phone and iâll probably stick with it (with a battery change) until it gives up on me!
I won't buy a certified phone from Target again. This was my negatice experience: I was told I could not look at the phone, or examine its condition or check the battery capacity before purchasing the phone. Fair enough, it's kind of a lot of money (couple of hundred dollars) to buy something sight unseen. Target assured me the phone is refurbished and warrantied. I buy it. You must set it up to your phone number and SIM card, then you can check the battery capacity. It's 80%. Apple would not sell this poor quality phone. No warranty information comes in the box; there are no terms the consumer can read to know their rights and recourse if the phone is in bad condition. Though the box says "Satisfaction guaranteed by limited warranty". Label says, "included in box: phone, battery, charger" with a picture of the cube and cable. However, the charging cube is not included in Target's certified phones, only a cable. And a used and unrestored battery. The reason the battery capacity matters is that this certified phone won't hold a battery charge to make a long phone call. The phone needs to be charged every 3 hours. I called Target to ask for the terms of the warranty or if they had another certified phone to exchang this one for, and I was told I would need to call AllState about the warranty. WHAT? When did AllState enter the picture. Nothing on or in the box mentions AllState. I called Apple's 800 number and this IME is outside of the warranty terms with Apple. tldr: runnaround, poor quality phone, poor value.
Beware of Straight Talk / Tracfone Wireless (bought by Verizon)....and the phones that Walmart sells for their service plan. My Mom has been using Straight Talk for 10 years, the last 3 of them on an iPhone SE2 she bought in 2020 in a Straight Talk box at Walmart. We had some problems activating it because Straight Talk said they couldn't do it since she bought it in one city and was using towers in another (the phone %23 was from the area she purchased it). đ We actually got help from Apple to tell Straight Talk what to do to get the service to work. It was a weird process, but I don't remember anything besides that.Anyways, my Mom has to switch phone companies because Straight Talk was bought by Verizon and the service doesn't work well at our house anymore. ... MoreBeware of Straight Talk / Tracfone Wireless (bought by Verizon)....and the phones that Walmart sells for their service plan. When she went to transfer the %23 and device to another phone service, Straight Talk refused to unlock the device unless she pays $250 (the phone isn't worth much more than that now). They are supposed to unlock it after you've used it a year. They claim the device was never registered to her number (but she spoke with them in the activation process so there is no reason they did not register it then). Customer service was absolutely refusing to help and the guy (Geody) who talked with us was more rude than anything I've experienced in the world of customer service (which says a lot).JUST DON'T USE STRAIGHT TALK AND VERIZON IF YOU CAN HELP IT! They've been a huge headache. Even if it means a new phone, we are glad to be done with them. Another FYI: They do not send an "invoice" or even have a printable bill, only shows the transaction amount. Which makes it impossible to show they knew which device was used. Part of the scheme. đ
I bought this in person at Target. Apple Care tech support walked me through setting up the phone. Come to find out, the maximum battery capacity is only 81%, the screen is murky and yellow. At the time of purchase I was hesitant about buying a used phone. Target assured me that I could return it if there was a battery problem, but that Target could not open the box and turn the phone on, and I could not examine the phone for wear and tear before purchasing it. But, they added, I could return it if there were any problems. Well, I was also assured by Target and the packaging that the phone is in refurbished and restored condition. Apple Care advocated for me, saying that Target should be selling a product that is only cosmetically damaged, and there should certainly not be any image quality problems, and that could indicate the previous owner dropped the phone, or there's a graphics chip problem, or air in parts that should be sealed. That's all above my understanding of cell phones. But, the phone is not in good condition. I haven't even tried the camera. I called a local Target store to return it, and was told they could accept the return and replace the phone with the same make and model and capacity. I drive to Target. Nope. Team lead tells me this phone is from a different district. Okaaay. It's from a Target store in the same county, that is pretty far drive with a $5.50 bridge toll. I drive to another Target. They tell me Target stores can no longer order for customers on Target.com and they direct me to the website to reorder. I'm nearing the threshold of when the hassle is not worth $200 savings. And for $200 I could've had a brand new phone. Not worth it. Inconsistent reassurances from Target staff. Waste of time and gas, and now I have this to figure out tomorrow. Moral of the story is, I don't think Target refurbished this particular phone. The second Target told me it was probably just turned in by a customer and restocked to sell. That would make sense because the box came without any instructions, or charger, or headphones. Nothing but the phone in a clear acrylic box that was taped closed.
I had an iPhone 7 so getting the SE 2022 was a very quick and easy way to transfer all my material across and get started. It met all my requirements at a relatively affordable cost unlike other iPhones. I am very happy with it and the battery is holding up well.I read the John Lewis review section before purchasing the iPhone SE22 which was very helpful for me making the decision to purchase the phone. On the basis of what I read in the John Lewis reviews, I also ordered a charge cable and the charge plug. However the phone does come with a charge cable and it's that cable that needs the new charge plug. You shouldn't feel the need to buy the charge cable. I can still charge the new phone with an old charge cable and plug but it does need the lightning adaptation ... MoreI had an iPhone 7 so getting the SE 2022 was a very quick and easy way to transfer all my material across and get started. Bought this iPhone to replace my aging iPhone 6 as its battery was on its last legs and this 2022SE version seemed to be similar to my old phone but with good battery life and assurance of typical Apple support for years to come. So far so good, but when I unpacked my new model I was disappointed to find a charging cable but no charger and no "getting started" user guide. I was also frustrated that there was no earphone jack. I had to go online to get some start up help and was informed that I needed a new style USB-C charger, so I subsequently purchased one - at additional cost, afterwards discovering that my old charger was perfectly adequate if but a little slower to charge. To use my earphones I seemingly have to buy an appropriate adapter. I do have ear-pods but don't like falling asleep with them - hence my preference for wired phones.Hence the review title - Minimalist Apple - and me only awarding 3 stars when with a little less penny-pinching from Apple I'm sure it would have been 5. Product itself is fine and I had no difficulty transferring all my settings from the old phone using ICloud.
I already had an SE 2nd gen and I tried to get it fixed at Best Buy, but it had some water damage so they couldnât fix it and it was just cheaper to buy this used phone than to drive to an Apple Store to have it fixed. When I got the phone home and set it up, I found that the battery was really degraded and needed to be replaced, and of course I hadnât thought of getting the protection plan when I bought it in store. I then asked to get a quote on the battery replacement ($59) and she also said it would take 1-4 weeks (my trip was in less than two) and she couldnât promise when it would be ready since they donât do it in store but in some facility somewhere else. So I just got the battery replaced at a nearby Batteries+Bulbs. Idk if this is just an issue with this store or not, but I feel kind of scammed. The phone works great, but the fact that the ârefurbishedâ phone wasnât actually refurbished is just false advertising. Iâm going to keep the phone, but I think that buying a used phone might be safer to do from eBay or Apple themselves.
