This is a great little phone for us practical folks who don’t often upgrade but still want a phone with most of the nicer features that are on the bigger more expensive phones. I actually have an old Gen 1 SE still being an awesome little phone that still works great and that led me to pick the newer SE up when it came out. I barely early adopt any new tech when it comes out unless I really believe in it and this phone mostly delivers. A huge bonus for me on this one is it still has the home button. I just prefer having a tactile button that I can feel, you know? As for the rest of the phone, again, decent for the price. Good sound quality, fast, has all the features I want out of a phone. Camera is just OK and takes decent pictures but can be fuzzy when it comes to ... MoreThis is a great little phone for us practical folks who don’t often upgrade but still want a phone with most of the nicer features that are on the bigger more expensive phones. It is a phone after all and not a camera so it definitely gets the job done. If you want a better camera though you’ll have to shell out for the more expensive phones however. Or, you know, an actual camera. My biggest gripe with all iPhones I’ve used, with this being no exception, is battery life. It seems great at first and within a year or so you definitely notice it become shorter and shorter. I don’t know if that’s Apples forced obsolescence trying to push you to a new phone every year that you really don’t need. I don’t know if they just use inferior batteries to make money selling you a replacement battery. All I know is that it doesn’t matter what phone it is from Apple, the battery will always be a huge let down. This alone is the reason in fairness I can not give this phone 5 stars.

I didn't get another flip phone because the ones that were available didn't have much to offer and were worse than my flip phone. So basically I was "forced" into getting a smart phone.) I won't give it 5 stars because comparing to my old flip phones the battery doesn't last anywhere near as long. It also doesn't come with the charging adapter, just the cable, so you have to buy the charger separately. It is very cheap of Apple to make their phones like this. It doesn't come with instructions either (another cheap move) so you will spend time googling stuff online if you have any questions about it. I am not tech savvy at all so I did a lot of that the first 2 weeks. If you just want to talk, text, and take an occasional photo, this phone is okay for that. I found the video to be poor quality when uploading it to a computer but maybe I just can't figure out the right setting for it. That's why I wish it came with detailed instructions. The iPhone SE is pretty good for a first smart phone and more affordable than the regular iPhone so I'll give it that. But it is not for everyone. My parents for example could never figure this out and would have to settle for what ever flip phone is available these days. I would actually give it 3.5 stars if that was an option.

Best Value Imaginable

This is my second phone purchase from Gazelle. I was a bit intimidated by the "fair" ranking, but none of the cosmetic defects are all that concerning. I bought a second phone from Gazelle because I had such a good experience with my first one, and I will probably use them again in the future.I love the SE because it is small, and the edges are flat, so it stays in tripods easily and it is easy to hold, and it's easy for me to type on it and not drop it with my arthritis hands that occasionally go completely numb. I will not be replacing my SE until the iPhone 12 mini drops below $200, so I intend to hold onto this phone for a very long time. It's ideal for people with small hands or small pockets, but not exactly ideal if you're someone who plays a lot of iphone ... MoreThis is my second phone purchase from Gazelle. It's ideal for people with small hands or small pockets, but not exactly ideal if you're someone who plays a lot of iphone games. If you use your phone as a phone, enjoy typing with one hand, and need something that will fit in your pocket, this is the best phone on the market in my opinion, because even though it's older, it keeps up really well with updated, newer apps. I never would have replaced my first one if I hadn't broken the screen. A screen replacement was $120 through Apple, but a "new" refurbished SE was $130 through Gazelle, so I decided to save myself the hassle and just get another phone.

Good phone but know what to expect.

I can rate the delivery experience and what is included with the phone but it's impossible to give a review of the actual product since every phone's condition will be different and there are various vendors supplying the restored phones. The phone arrived quickly and was packaged well. It came with a charger, sim removal tool and a screen protector. The battery was at 85% and it was listed as being better than 80% so that was good. On my phone there were 6 noticeable scratches on the screen. Two of them bigger than the others and one near the middle of the screen. It's not too deep but I can see it when the phone is in bright light. There is supposed to be a 90 day return period but I don't think I care enough to swap this phone for another one that might be in ... MoreI can rate the delivery experience and what is included with the phone but it's impossible to give a review of the actual product since every phone's condition will be different and there are various vendors supplying the restored phones. There is supposed to be a 90 day return period but I don't think I care enough to swap this phone for another one that might be in worse condition. You are buying a used phone so expect it to look used. The setup process was easy. I was able to transfer the data from my old iPhone by putting it near the other phone. This phone doubled the storage of my old phone so that's pretty awesome. I would suggest getting a case as soon as possible for the phone. It's very slippery and I almost dropped it 5 times before the new case arrived. This phone will support iOS 16 which is why I upgraded from the iPhone SE original. It's slightly larger than the old SE model and my tiny hands have trouble reaching the whole screen if I use one hand. My thumb can't reach the one corner of the screen. I had to rearrange my icons so the important ones were within thumb reach. It also has an extra row of icons since the screen is slightly bigger. It has 24 app icons per screen. This phone doesn't have a headphone jack but there are lightning to 3.5 mm jack adapters out there. I ran a free IMEI check on the phone to make sure it wasn't stolen and ran a free diagnostic program to make sure everything was working as it should. Both checks were successful. Overall I'm happy with the purchase. It was a good price but I do wish the screen didn't have that light scratch right in the middle of the screen.

Great device but simply too small for me
26 July 2022

Was on the fence for this phone. Coming from a larger 7 plus I was ready for a smaller device. After a few days it was great to have a smaller phone to tote around especially in the pocket. However I quickly started to miss the bigger screen. My vision isnt what it use to be. The SE can zoom and make fonts bigger however being a smaller screen it cannot display all content. So Im left dragging and moving my screen to see all what is there. Very cumbersome. Then lastly my fingers are just too big. I end of misspelling and mashing to many keys. Very time consuming and aggravating having to backspace, correct, and proof read everything I type. SE looks promising but for an older person this didnt work for me.

Review is for a Used Item. 3 1/2 Stars The Bad: The only glitch so far is the Touchscreen, at times the Touchscreen does not respond when entering the Passcode. Also the touches on the Touchscreen would not be accurate at times, for example in Settings: if Accessibility was touched, Wallpaper would open. When either happens I restart & the issues are corrected. The Good: All in all, the Apple iPhone SE 2020 is good value (despite this glitch) considering the newer model is much more expensive (Apple iPhone SE 2022) with the only differences are the Bionic Chip A13 or A15 & the cellular service 4G or 5G. Other than that, these 2 models are identical. If you can live with a very little bit slower iPhone, you will save a lot of money. Simple mobile is a scam / Iphone is ok

After they transferred my phone number to this whole device and sim the phone kept saying that it needs to be activated. After I spoke to Apple they told me that the issue is with the carrier, not the phone. I called and spoke to 10 different people from Simple Mobile and no one is willing to help. I actually can’t do that because my phone is locked to the sim card i will have to return.

I had the original se for 5 years before I decided to get the SE 2. This one, after just two years the battery capacity was below 80% and needed servicing. Even before that I always found I needed to hunt for an outlet mid day to recharge. Im in engineering and don't really use my phone often.
