Got this to replace my aging 1st generation SE that I purchased 5 years ago. Really pleased with the purchase, and refurbished saved lost of $$$ over new. Battery life is better on the new SE, screen is a fraction bigger but same small footprint. The phone is plenty fast with the new A15 chip. Its rated for 5G but where I live that service is spotty at best. Only got the 64GB version, but I don't use my phone for taking lots of photos or videos and I don't down load games or other memory hogs. Plus 64GB is double what my old SE had and I still had about 10GB open on that, so don't think that will be a problem. All in all really please with my purchase. I basically need a phone for texting and making phone calls and occasionally searching something on the web.

I wish I had done more research before choosing this phone. I needed a very simple user friendly smartphone that didn’t break the bank and thought this was it. First of all it does not have facial recognition; that would have been a deal breaker if I had bothered to check and not assumed. Also took three days to set up with hours on phone with Tech Support- turns out there was no SIMS card. So phone had to be remotely reprogrammed for ESIMS. Also I couldn’t transfer the android number I was told I could- so on third day I got a new number to the tune of $90.00 in addition to everything I’d already paid. I’d have been better off to get a more sophisticated phone. Maybe you should just do that. It’s working fine now but I will not buy another model like this.

Good phone, irritating Apple apps and business practices
16 October 2023

I purchased this phone because it was the least expensive new (not refurbished) Apple phone that I could buy. It is a good phone, but lacks some of the features of the newest phones in Apple's offerings. Things that I found annoying about the new phone experience, that are not necessarily unique to this model. 1) The save/restore process to get content from my old phone to the new one was quirky and troublesome. It took me the better part of an evening and an extreme amount of patience to get everything transferred. 2) The setup process was somewhat insistent on setting up a wallet and other features, which I don't want to use. Ask once and then never ask again! 3) Free trials of Apple TV, arcade, and other apps popped up more than once. Once again, ask me one time ... MoreI purchased this phone because it was the least expensive new (not refurbished) Apple phone that I could buy. Or better yet, don't ask at all; you are just trying to get me to sign up for something that in a months is going to increase my bill if I forget to uninstall it and cancel those services. In general, I find that Apple has great phones, but I don't like the fact that Apple devices don't easily work and play well with other non-Apple products, like Windows PC's. This is done on purpose, in an attempt to get you to buy more Apple products.

Great device

It works great to be small, powerful A15 Bionic Chip. I like it, I like that it has the home button versus a slide up feature for the home button. Best iPhone bang for your buck. I’m happy 😊 with it. I purchased it cause it ain’t too bad as far as price. It fulfills my needs. Not a heavy bulky phone when I put it on my belt inside the holster. Incredible budget phone I can afford. For a 400 plus dollars phone I’m getting the best chipset in a 2022 smartphone a durable and timeless design. An excellent display and camera setup for the price point. Better is fine everyday use and a full day cycle is no problem. Excellent service to me. I like that it is an 5G device and when I’m in bigger cities it show up 5G UW meaning Ultra band Wide, very cost effective for needs. ... MoreIt works great to be small, powerful A15 Bionic Chip. I’m so glad Apple made this new 2022 iPhone SE 3rd Generation. I had the 14 pro max for only about 3 and a half months and decided to let it go back as I did not wanna pay for a $1200 phone.

THREE big issues:(1) "Total by Verizon" and "Verizon" are two different companies. The phrase "Locked to Total by Verizon" led me to think I was purchasing a new phone, which I could add to my existing WiFi contract with Verizon; NOT so. In order to use this phone, I would be required to sign up for a minimum of 2-months of service with Total by Verizon. I have no intention of changing from Verizon as my WiFi service provider.(2) This item was not identified on the Walmart website as pre-owned.(3) The phone that I received has a different code number than the number listed on the inside box label. Looking closely, you will see that a second label had been pasted over the original box label, and a piece of tape had been used to partially disguise whatever was ... MoreTHREE big issues:(1) "Total by Verizon" and "Verizon" are two different companies. The sender certainly wasn't making any effort to reveal their true identity.

I ordered this phone because my wife bought me Airpods and an Apple Watch, and I switched from Motorola phones because of that. I wanted things to work seamlessly. Well, at first the SE was pretty good. I don't have a complaint about the performance. It generally does what I need a smartphone to do, browse, download apps, light gaming. The problems crept up less than a year in to daily use. The battery life started dropping precipitously. Now, at about 15 months old, it is unusable. Literally charge it over night, do some light browsing, and half an hour later it's at 70%. By noon, it's in the red with little to no use. The apple lightning port is terrible. I'm going back to android and USB-C. I've cleaned and cleaned the lightning port to no avail. This is an underpowered phone that might be okay for my mom who is 85 and hardly uses her phone. But for any modern user, this is not the answer.

PRO/CON - iPhone SE 3rd Generation Brand New 2023
31 May 2023

PRO: I LOVE the red color!!!! It's a Christmas red, very rich looking. I almost had a heart attack seeing the purchase price, but figuring price and anticipating life expectancy it kind of balanced out. Besides the red color, the technology iOS, camera, size and updates/support from Apple for the next 5 years (vs 3 years for other phones including some iPhones) is what tipped the scale for me deciding on this iPhone SE 3rd Generation brand new. CON: Price!! Weight!! Buttons for volume and power!! As for price... It seems that technology is built to be thrown away, which is great for putting money in "their" pockets making it not customer-friendly. As for buttons for volume and power... Because they're currently directly opposite each other, left/right sides of the ... MorePRO: I LOVE the red color!!!! It's a Christmas red, very rich looking. CON: Price!! Weight!! Buttons for volume and power!! As for price... It seems that technology is built to be thrown away, which is great for putting money in "their" pockets making it not customer-friendly. As for buttons for volume and power... Because they're currently directly opposite each other, left/right sides of the phone, it's too easy to hit the wrong button when trying to say take a picture hitting the power/home buttons at the same time or taking a picture using only 1 hand or other functions like volume control when holding the phone with 1 hand only to accidentally hit the power button. I'd appreciate it if Apple would relocate the power button to be on the same side of the phone as and right below the volume up/down buttons. Everything would be in align: Silent Mode on/off, Volume up/down, Power. As for weight... It's within the normal weight for a cell phone, but it would be nice if it weighed a little less "IF" quality of product can be maintained/surpassed. All-in-all, I do like my iPhone SE 3rd Generation Brand New 2023 and yes, I would buy it again!!

I am not a techie, but solely a phone user with a few extras. The SE (3rd Gen) is so close to my old I Phone 6, that I literally did not have to learn to use it. The best part for me is not the phone itself, but rather the fact that this phone does not use up my battery like my old 6 did. I actually use it as a phone, Facetime calls with family, Emails, Messaging, Texting, Maps, and as a camera and photo storage, and for weather necessities and Wallet for controlling my Football tickets (in the fall) and a back up to our credit card. It meets all of my real needs. My hobby is working on equipment with my grandsons and if I need to look up something on You Tube, I give it to them so I can research a fix. It makes them feel good to help me, especially the you tube ... MoreI am not a techie, but solely a phone user with a few extras. The SE is a beautiful phone, sleek, the perfect size. However, it is a unique model because of a feature which they call haptics. This is a vibration sort of tactile response when you touch the home key. When I brought the phone home, my husband actually thought it was broken because the feedback made it feel as if something inside the phone had moved, as if some solder had come undone. It is an outstanding feature if a user has difficulty with their hands, a Godsend for individuals with certain impairments. Still, like key clicks or tactile feedback on a keyboard, others will not like it at all. You can turn off vibration in accessibility and adjust the feeling from low to medium to high, but you can’t make it go away.
