It was good for its time if you are into apps but after a certain point, it won't let you update apps or download certain ones because it isn't a new enough model. Photo quality is not that great. Very thankful for it though because mine still has some very fun apps that you can't download anymore still on it, and it is great if you love taking music on the go. If I want to listen to music but am unsure what exactly I want to listen to, I put my ipod on shuffle and am usually satisfied. I like being able to make playlists on it and replay or shuffle. I still have old voice recordings from me and my band rehearsing on there, too! And we made separate playlists for the song the bridesmaids walked down to, the song I walked down to, the first dance song, and the daddy daughter song, as well as a playlist for more chill music while people were eating and kept the more upbeat dance music on a separate playlist when we were done eating. It was super easy to transition smoothly between everything since the playlists were labeled very detailed. I wouldn't rebuy a 4th generation since I would paying to not maximize all the features, but I would buy another apple product:)

I did had to buy a new charging cord because the one it came with, wouldn't work, disconnecting the iPod and displaying a "check device" message but that was not a problem. I still had no issue charging the ipod with the cord that came with it. This little Ipod worked just as expected and I'm very happy about it. Very good quality for what you pay ! I bought this older Iphone just to use as an mp3 player with bluetooth. It's been working perfectly, and with good battery life. For some reason, new mp3 players from Amazon don't work, or stop working quickly, so what better way to go than with an old Iphone. At first I had trouble finding the progress bar, you have to tap the podcast pic in the lower right corner for it to appear

When playing music only, It gives me about 2-3ish hours on one charge but when doing screen intensive stuff, It'll only last 30ish minutes on a full charge, and that's with the brightness down! People use a touch for more than music. That's the point of an iPod touch instead of a nano or a shuffle. So when it really can't do those other things to long without killing the battery, it defeats the purpose. UPDATE: After a dew days of use, I've noticed the battery getting better? Odd but ok. Instead of taking 30min to get a full charge, it actually took 1-2 hours to charge. This is also with a new cable different from the one that came with the iPod, so I can only assume it was a cable thing and not a battery thing. That's good because I really didn't wanna drop $79 for a battery replacement from Apple. The battery is also lasting me more like 4-6 hours, even with heavy screen usage. However, I do have it in airplane mode so that could be adding to the battery health. With these new discoveries being made in the about a week of use, my rating has changed! One final note, the internal speaker is kinda trash. This doesn't bother me since I mainly use headphones with it but for anyone intending on using the internal speaker a lot, maybe go for a 5th gen iPod touch instead. Over all, would recommend to anyone looking for a cheap MP3 player!

So much easier to do with this than on my IPad. Love the music player- that is really what this is for...but the iPod touch 4th generation is obviously capable of so much more than just a music player. Even with the disappointment of realizing I could never have many new apps, I've grown quite fond of my little iPod 4 and find myself using it much more than I thought I would. The camera isn't even bad, not bad at all actually considering the resolution that's much lower than what we have become accustomed to in 2017. As long as you understand its operating system limitations (don't blame the seller or the product- do your research) and you find this at a decent price of 50$ or less...I highly recommend. (I cannot really imagine paying more than $80 for it considering I can but a refurbished iPhone 5s for $130 and a 5c for $90) but at a good price..go for it! Ok I think that's sufficient and the info I wish I'd read before making a decision (I would have still purchased it, and glad I did)

I just had to find the correct program to download so it would read it and my husband loves it because it was for him to replace one he'd got that had 16 gigs I think but somehow he downloaded something that took up half of it's memory and said he needed a new one but after looking at the price of the new ones I decided to check Ebay for a used one. I'm glad I did. He has been carrying around these cases of cd for years . Well when we travel he usually takes some with him but all of the new cars are going to just the ipod and stuff although this has to be plugged into the radio because it's not wifi capable it can work that way cause most of them do have the jack for it to be plugged in one way or ... Why let technology like THIS die? The iPod is the PERFECT device to hold music. I refuse to use my PHONE as a listening device ! I cannot believe what a great deal I got on this ! I will start to HOARD these very soon ! Rest In Peace to my old iPods (sad face here) . By the way - those 20 year old ABUSED iPods- work- PERFECTLY ! Planned obsolescence by Apple!!!!!!!
