I’ve purchased twice. The first time item came in an Apple box and was as expected. The second one I’m requesting to return due to being shipped an “extra”Charger that must have been found laying around, not contained in a box. Not labeled. If purchasing an Apple charger I expect it to be an Apple charger, otherwise I could have purchased a knockoff. Also don’t like that I have to contact the third party and can’t return to Walmart like most other items purchased through the Walmart app.

Apple OEM Chargers Vastyle Superior to 3rd Party

If you own an Apple device, I highly recommend you buy these OEM Charging Cables. I purchased this for my Uncle who owns the Apple iPhone 12, and he has had so many third party Lightning Cables dating back to the Multiple iPhones he's had (iPhone SE, iPhone 7, and iPhone SE), and like Clock work they always get damaged. It's really not worth the reduced cost buying a cheaper 3rd party cable when it's going to be damaged 3 or 4 times faster than an OEM Cable. All 3rd party cables he buys seem to always have a problem on the USB A side where the Cable becomes detached. Overall, it might be a bit more expensive, but trust me, it's not worth the hassle buying a 3rd party charger only for it to break on you, forcing you to have to buy another charger again. Do not purchase Apple products at Target - do not work

Purchased this Apple lightning cable at Target, and straight out of the box, it never worked. I tried it at my office, did not work on any plug, outlet, computer. I took it home to try it at home, and it did not work. For some bizarre reason, Target won't take returns after 15 days even if completely defective right out of the box. I never expected this return had to be made in 15 days, as most stores give 60 days to return an item, especially if it was broken and never worked. POOR customer service, shame on Target and shame on Apple.

Get one or two OEM versions
16 September 2021

I'm not sure how many of these I've purchased over the last decade. Most I give away to friends who lose or wear-out their cables. I tend to take care of them, coiling them and putting them in a ziplock in my travel bag, so for me they last indefinitely.Once they break, I can usually fix them once, soldering the conductors and finishing with two layers of heat shrink...some of those become my favourite cables as they never break again, and are now color-coded! Still, I'm not sure that's a ringing endorsement for the original quality, given their cost. There is an IC chip in the Lightning end of the cable, which causes the connector on that end to warm-up. Given this heat and the small mass of the connector, it eventually breaks. You can help prevent this but not leaving your devices plugged-in longer than needed to charge or transfer images, etc. Coil the cable up. Don't sit on it. It's a cable...they will wear out over time. I just wish the OEM version was a little less expensive. The mass production of these over the last decade still has not lead to the normal 'bathtub curve' of cost reduction, as with most mature products. Also, I've used several after-market cables which are just as reliable, although I like the rubberized outer jacket of this cable, as it just seems to want to coil itself.Generally, I recommend friends buy at least a couple of OEM Apple cables, perhaps one 3' (1m) and one 6' (2m).

Great and Required 3.3 ft OEM Apple Lightning USB Cable!
13 November 2020

If you are in the market for an Apple Lightning USB Cable you should consider this particular one. I can't say it a great purchase based on it's normal selling price but it is when offered at a discount to Apple's retail price.SIZE: When looking for one you should consider your application. What size does it call for? In my situation I'm using this primarily by my bedside charging station or in my basement computer station. With the number of Apple products we have (iPhone, iPad, Keyboard and Mouse) we need cables all the time. Because it is 3.3 ft long only it's best used when charging and not using your device. I would suggest you getting a 5-6ft length if you plan on using your device while it's charging by your bed, sofa or desk. I would suggest you getting a 5-6ft length if you plan on using your device while it's charging by your bed, sofa or desk. This will give you some slack comfortably when using your device.COLOR & CONSTRUCTION: Well this is an Apple Lightning USB Cable and is White in color. Some of your might not take color into consideration, but for me it does make a difference. If you prefer something more to your taste then you're out of luck because Apple only makes it in White. You'll have to consider a Third Party Cable. Next would be construction. Construction is very important because for me it has to last and be sturdy. This cable at this time of production has lost some of it's durability of material and construction compared to Apple's original cable. If you use it carefully it will last quite a long time, bu if you are careless or not careful like my kids the lightning end of the cable will begin to deteriorate as many have complained about Apple cables.COMPATIBILITY: Since you're purchasing an Apple OEM cable you should not have any issues. I bring this up because one thing you will notice is that people have reported online that Third Party Cables stop functioning. It is a well known issue with them and I've experienced this many a time even when those Third Party Cables were new and recently purchased. What you will experience is an Error about not being able to use the cable when plugged in. Recently you plug them in and then it say you need to unlock your device to use the cable or charge. Then it attempts to connect and then stops working. These cables all have a chip inside them which your devices reads to make sure they are authorized Third Party Cables. If not it stops working. I've notice that after an Apple update some cables were working just before the update now stopped working. Also the cables you purchased might be using a copycat chip set which Apple notices and are not authorized. When they do the updates indicate this and your cable just stops working. UGH is all I can say. That's why I always use an Apple OEM cable. One very important issue that you will encounter is that your device has lost all power. In this case often you need an Apple OEM cable with an Apple OEM charger to charge your device back up. This has always been an issue since the iPods were first introduced. Those are the PROS that I found for this product. The only CON I have is that it's not as robust of material and construction as I'd like but Apple has to make money and if you don't buy their stuff they aren't going to make their money. Conclusion: If you need Lightning USB Cable always purchase and have at least one or two Apple OEM Lightning USB Cables on hand.

It mostly works

Purchased to replace the included charging cable for an iPhone 7 Plus purchased in fall of 2018, which physically deteriorated after 3+ years of charging use. It doesn't seem to work quite as well as the cable it replaced. It charges as expected when connected, but I've found that the Lightning end is prone to connectivity issues and it typically means that I have to plug it in, set the phone down, double-check to make sure it is still charging, and then not touch it. I have had a few instances with this cable where it was initially verified as being connected and charging, but then coming back overnight or after a couple of hours expecting a full battery -- surprise! -- not connected and not charging. I understand it could be attributed to general wear and tear of the port on the phone and can't rule out that a similar issue with the original cable wasn't also happening as the wire deteriorated, but I'm also cognizant of the manufactured obsolescence of personal electronics where 2-3 years is the general lifespan where you are either replacing the device or the cabling. So it goes. I'd still rather purchase the Apple cable over a third-party version.

Not an Apple Lightning cable - generic knockoff!!
9 January 2023

Not an Apple Lightning cable - generic knockoff. We purchased as Christmas gift under the premise we were receiving an official Apple charging cable. The cable is crafty and uses similar writing as Apple. The gift recepient showed us the difference. Now we feel fooled by the seller and foolish gifting a knockoff to someone who only trusts and uses official Apple cables due to a small fire started in the past from a generic cable.sharing our experience in hopes of protecting others.

On the first day...

When I plugged it in to charge, everything was great. It was actually charging pretty quickly. When I went to remove the cable, the wire broke away from the part that goes into the phone. The piece was temporarily stuck in my phone. I used tweezers and it popped out with no damage to the phone. I have it in a plastic sandwich bag and will be bringing it to the closest Staples store. I'm sure there won't be a problem returning it.

Stops Working - Expensive Junk
10 April 2023

Stops Working. We have bought the cords time and time again. Each one breaks. Some don’t work immediately. Some work for a month. I’m exhausted mentally and financially from replacing Apple charging cords. You never know when it will work or when it will stop working forever. Do not buy unless you’re okay with buying a new one monthly and still possibly getting one that breaks immediately. You’ll be stranded somewhere without a way to charge your phone. We ALL need to file a report to make them refund us our monies and provide a product that works.

The best iPhone cable cords around
31 July 2021

There is a saying that “there’s nothing like the real thing, baby as well as a song by Aretha Franklin from decades ago 1974 to be exact. That’s the case of the iPhone 3 ft. cable cords I purchased recently at Best Buy, The real deal, for sure Lightning to USB. I bought two of them; one for each apple device that I own. I felt it was the way to go and pay more than the usual ones people get for a small fraction of the cost. So far so good. I’m always satisfied with every product the store sells. And I accumulate points to boot. Now, how cool is that? I highly recommend the original iPhone replacement cords to anyone who needs them. They certainly last a long time as long as one is careful with them.
