MacBook Air M2 is an excellent product. Note that I am coming from a MacBook Air 2012 so the difference is outstanding. The MacBook Air M2 does show finger prints so I highly recommend a case if that will annoy you. The device is a bit heavier than my Samsung Galaxy Book Flex. The size is somewhat comparable. The battery life on the MacBook Air M2 is great. I find myself not needing to charge for a few days. That being said, I only use my MacBook for work, which can be up to 4 hours of spreadsheet, email and Teams use. The camera for Teams is just fine. I myself do not need to be on 4K photo shoots so whatever camera is in this device is just fine for me. I have easily attached my iPad Pro as a secondary screen. My Samsung Book Flex computer has ongoing multiple issues when trying to connect. My MacBook...no issues. AirPods Pro connect easily to MacBook Air M2. Again, I primarily use my MacBook Air M2 for work. I do play PacMan and I do watch Disney + on the MacBook Air M2. No issues whatsoever. I do not notice a lag due to no fan, however, I am not a power user by any means. I am not using the MacBook Air M2 for Tik Tok, Facebook, or any social media. I assume it would work just fine.

(Okay, maybe I could have bought a new cable, but I have other devices that I wanted to plug in, such as an Apple DVD player that has a USB cable.)Trying to use the aforementioned DVD player, I found it was obsolete, even if I plugged it into the USB-to-thunder converter that I bought. Apparently, I could reprogram some things on the Mac and get it to work, but this is beyond me. It's easier for me to use my old MacBook for DVDs.Storing documents was easy on my old Mac. The new one stuffs them into a mandatory file called OneDrive. I am still researching ways to spring them from this prison. And remember click and drag? That was a signature Apple feature for organizing docs and files. It is no more. After searching for the right technique, I found that you need to touch softly (not click) with 3 fingers to move a folder on your desktop, for instance. Why would Apple make such a major change? All in all, I am having a very difficult time making the transition to this new and strangely behaving computer.

Great upgrade!!!

This replaced an aging 13" Macbook pro 2016. This thing has way better battery life. I love that they brought back magsafe instead of taking up one of the USB-C ports. The magnet on the charger is really strong so it holds on better than the old model and there was an extra usb-c port on the charging block. The Midnight color is so nice. The color options are better on this than the new pro models! The screen is great and this is so much thinner than my older Macbook but the screen is slightly larger. Touch ID to unlock the device or to enter passwords makes using this one so much nicer. I went with the 512GB because the last macbook only had 128GB and was always running out of storage. All my files were backed up to icloud so they showed up on this device quickly ... MoreThis replaced an aging 13" Macbook pro 2016. This thing has way better battery life. For 200 dollars a year they give free 2 year applecare coverage to your apple devices you purchase from them. If you buy the applecare coverage you know how much this will save on multiple devices. They also give 2 year coverage on other no-apple devices you purchase. Overall this is much better than the old macbook pro it replaced. I handed that down to my daughter because it is still a good laptop.

I am aware it is most likely do to mirroring from the Mac to the Monitor but I have no idea how to fix it, is there anyone who can offer me advice on how to resolve the issue?

Perfect MacBook for the masses

I've been using my Starlight 15" Air since launch day and as someone who has owned basically every Mac laptop made in the last 6 years I finally found exactly what I need in a MacBook. I use my computer for basic media and from time to time I'll do some intense photo editing but I'm the target market for the 15" Air and it's the perfect MacBook for 90% of end users.*Like others have said it's very close in size to the old 15" MacBook Pro of which I previously owned but it's much lighter and the screen is much better in comparison. I only purchased that computer for the screen as I never took that computer to a quarter of its potential at the time.*The speakers are AMAZING in comparison to my previous 13" Pro and M1 and M2 Air. I only purchased that computer for the screen as I never took that computer to a quarter of its potential at the time.*The speakers are AMAZING in comparison to my previous 13" Pro and M1 and M2 Air. The only MacBook that beats it was my 16" i9 MBP I had a few years back. Those speakers were louder and more full but bass wise I would put the 15" Air on par with those.*The keyboard is spacious and great to type on. Honestly I've never had complaints with any of my MacBook keyboards; even the old 2016 15" MBP I had didn't bother me but this keyboard is miles better than that. Still not up to par to certain ThinkPad models (T Series and X1 Carbon series).*Bright, beautiful screen and the notch doesn't bother me with the larger screen (it honestly did on the 13" M2 Air) and I don't see any of the issues noted on the forums with this screen. Again I've never been picky or had any problems with my MacBook screens (except for the 2nd Gen Air. Terrible screens). I have auto dimming turned off as I like to pick how bright my screen is.*I purchased the 8/256 model and I don't have any complaints at all regarding speed. I do notice a difference in SSD speed in comparison to my M1 Air I just returned to get this 15". When transferring files it's noticeable Apple is using the slower, single SSD in comparison to M1. Other than that particular instance it's very fast and more than enough space and RAM for me.Apple hit a home run here with the 15" Air. Nothing groundbreaking about the design or overall package in general but it delivers exactly what most users want from a MacBook: a big, beautiful screened laptop that doesn't break the bank. If this had been priced any higher than $1499 base I wouldn't have purchased one but I think the aggressive pricing of this laptop will make it a best seller very quickly.

The best MacBook Apple has ever done!

I was using a MacBook Air from early 2015 but it was beginning to age in terms of hardware and software in 2023. Apple truly deserves credit because while not cheap, they build quality computers that can last for approximately a decade. As a teacher, I need a computer that can allow me to write lesson plans and occasionally watch videos on my spare time.I was going back and forth between the 13 inch and this 15 inch MacBook Air. Upon seeing the 15 inch in the store, I was impressed but worried about portability. My girlfriend convinced me to go with the bigger size since I intended to keep it for as long as I owned the previous one. Upon bringing it home, I immediately fell in love with it out the box. It literally is the same size of the 13 inch from 2015 in terms of width. Kudos to Apple’s engineering and design team. The screen is gorgeous, the speakers are amazing and it’s super thin for a laptop this size. This is a MUST buy if you’re in the market for a new Mac. Save yourself hundreds of dollars by choosing this over the Pro model. Apple, you did it again! Best Buy, thanks for the ease of purchase!

I would consider myself a pretty advanced power user. This thing handles Adobe Photoshop and LightRoom like a boss! Very impressed with compile times inside Visual Studio. It breezed through modifying .stl files for my 3d printers in Halot Box and Lychee. Slicing time was also pretty solid. On top of everything else, it even played League of Legends at 190+ fps with the highest graphical settings.I am very happy with my decision to upgrade to the 10 core GPU for my needs, as well as the 512gb SSD. The upgraded SSD serves as a great platform for housing swap memory to aide the smaller amount of RAM.The portability of this machine is the most impressive part. With the lid closed it's about as thick as my iPad Air.For the size, and fan-less design, this thing is an absolute powerhouse with a battery that is the GOLD STANDARD!I reach for this device more than my 16" M1 Pro with 32gb of memory.

Was nervous, but a GREAT machine!

This is my first MacBook. I have used Apple products for years; iPhone, Apple Watch (have had 4 versions), iPod(s), and EarPods. Never a Mac because I heard they are vastly different than Windows PCs, but with the new Air, I thought I would give it a shot as I wanted something with other than 4 hours of battery time. The MacBook Air 13.6 M2 8GB Memory - 512GB SSD hasn't disappointed. Great battery life, excellent display and nice keyboard.I like the build, the weight, and overall appearance of the MacBook. It has taken a bit to get used to the switch from a Windows PC. Yes, it is different and it has been a little frustrating at times, however, I like the functionality and it is easy enough to run a search on what I need to do to learn how to do what I want.I ... MoreThis is my first MacBook. I can basically go from one machine to another and not skip a beat. A calendar entry on my iPhone is instantly on my calendar in MacBook and iPad! I love how I can open the lid and my Apple Watch gets me signed in! Very cool.I have had the machine for a little over a week and am truly glad I made the purchase. You will too.

Yes, it really is that good

This is my favorite tech purchase in the last year. It is as fast as my MUCH more expensive gaming laptop with high-end specs for startup and casual daily use but it also runs Windows in Parallels Desktop as well or better than most similarly-priced Windows-only laptops so there is no worry for any software being left behind. I was able to run several of my Steam games under Windows in Parallels with no issues (and no fans making noise either!). It runs an impressive number of iOS apps as well (the developer chooses whether they allow support). You can emulate Android OS if you want to as well. This is a FAST and VERSATILE laptop with a beautiful display, great sound, and an outstanding build quality. I do dream of a day Apple doesn't price gouge for RAM and storage ... MoreThis is my favorite tech purchase in the last year. I do dream of a day Apple doesn't price gouge for RAM and storage or at the very least allows the user to upgrade both (or even one of those) on their own, but specced with 8GB of RAM and 512GB of storage, this is pretty much the sweet spot for this device anyway. I haven't come close to using up either yet. Highly recommended.
