Review of TekDealsThis is what I ordered from the seller’s listing: “Pre-Owned Apple MacBook Pro Laptop Core i9 2.3GHz 32GB RAM 512GB SSD 15" Space Gray MV912LL/A (2019) - Like New”Primarily, I am reviewing the seller’s practice in product listing, considering their claim that the product was “professionally restored to working order by an approved vendor” and their statement that the product was inspected, cleaned, and repaired to "meet manufacturer specifications. It is in excellent grade A 9 /10 cosmetic condition showing only extremely light signs of wear from handling."To be clear, I have no issue with their order fulfillment; the product arrived on schedule and securely packaged with excellent protective packing. Inside was the Macbook Pro, a charging cable and a power brick, all in seemingly great condition. The Macbook itself seems fine. What I take issue with are the seller’s use of the Excellent seal asserting “excellent cosmetics showing only extremely light signs of wear” and the claim of thorough product inspection and repair to “meet manufacturer specifications.” This swayed me to spend six hundred dollars on this product, only to find out that I have to spend an additional amount to truly have one key component, the battery, restored to “manufacturer specifications.”Re issue 1, I’ve uploaded 4 photos, two showing discoloration of the lid surface caused by the sun-burnished after-images of a prior owner’s decals. In these photos, they appear light but to the eye it’s a little clearer (the photos are un-retouched). These marks are neither original issue nor they up to manufacturer standards. But I can live with that if the price means I’m getting a fully functional machine. But this is not exactly the case with this Macbook. 1) the screen flickers randomly as if due to an electrical problem, like what happens with a CRT that has a bad connection.2) The most egregious issue is that the battery was not restored. I included a photo of the battery life shown in the System Preferences control panel. The system message says that “the battery’s capacity is significantly reduced. To restore capacity, please check your service options.” After fully charging the Macbook, I used it without a cord and in 2 hours it went from 100 to 80%. At best I'd get 9 hours not the 11 hours shown in the Walmart More Info section. While I realize that there is a 60-day warranty on this product, I’m not reassured by the facts of my experience nor by their claim of having inspected this machine--how could they miss the battery degradation? Is that not a simple procedure to go into System Preferences to check this out? I would prefer if the seller offered a partial credit to cover the battery since they described it "like new," so that neither party has to deal with the hassle of returns. However, I am willing to cut my losses, but I am not likely to buy anything from TekDeals again nor will I recommend this seller to anyone else.

I've been using an old MacBook Air for travel that I simply got tired of patching together. My experiences with OWC have been nothing short of amazing, so I was thrilled to see them offering reconditioned MacBooks. I picked up an Intel MBP that I simply can't tell from brand new. For a price that rivals eBay. There isn't even a scratch on it, not that I would care if there were. It's been flawless so far, and as good as any other brand new MBP I've ever used. I've already threatened my girlfriend with replacing her computer with a Mac. There's no way I could, with clear conscience, give her a Windows computer. And certainly not at this price.

It ended up being in good condition. The corners looked a little rubbed raw, not much, but to me, that's nothing. They put a vinyl sticker, that is the same color as the computer, over the top with the Apple logo cut out. I thought it was very nice for them to do that. If it did have any scratches, you couldn't tell, which I liked that they did that... Everything works great. I did have to do the software update twice because it didn't work the first time. Computer works amazing! Fast! Far beyond what I expected. Thinking of getting my friend one now?! Would buy again!

We ordered this max book with wireless mouse and headphone. We received the max book but not the mouse and headphones. Instead of them just sending the missing items the policy is to return the item buy a new one and when they get and feel like it return the money. This was a birthday gift for our daughter who’s birthday is in two days. The agent called this seller and they said they would do nothing except have us buy again and hope we get the right stuff. Be very very careful ordering. We haven’t tested the unit yet so can’t comment on the overall condition. If I could give zero stars I would for their customer service.
Seeing all of the mixed reviews, I was a little reluctant to purchase from this seller. But to my surprise, this MacBook works extremely well. I needed a backup Mac for my Dj Software, since my 2012 is quite dated, and has a couple of crashes. I have instead made this my main one. The only cons I found, was a small discoloration on the bottom left corner, barely noticeable. And a few minor scuffs on the lid and bottom. Touch pad, touch ID, Trackpad, all work excellent. Display adjusts as expected with the light. Keyboard feels solid. Programs are quick, and respond with no issues. Memory seems to be working optimally. WiFi speed is great. Battery life is great. All of my dynamic external control devices are highly responsive. Love it. It might be hit and miss with ... MoreSeeing all of the mixed reviews, I was a little reluctant to purchase from this seller. But to my surprise, this MacBook works extremely well. I bought this computer to help me for an exam at school. I didn’t want to spend to much money on a new computer so I purchased this one. Sadly, the following series of events happened back to back:- The computer came uncharged, but when I plugged in the charger, it started making this horrendous high pitched sound that never stopped till I disconnected the charger from the wall.- When the computer turned on, I was asked to put in my Apple iCloud information. I put in my information and then there was a glitch on the computer that was not letting me move on. I decided to restart the iCloud log in process, but when I typed in my same information again, it told me it was incorrect. I still don’t know why that was happening, but somehow I was able to sign in (with the password that I was being told was incorrect.)- After I was able to finally get into my computer, I was told I needed a new update, when I went to set it up, it said that my computer was going to restart. However, my computer was not allowing me to shut it down because my settings app was not allowing itself to close down. It kept on saying that it was “busy” and was still “logging into my Apple ID.” I waited hours to see if maybe then it would be complete and I could get my update. But it didn’t. Therefore I’m stuck on the settings app since I can’t close it for the update that I need to get.Overall, please consider looking at other options before buying this computer.
I was told this MacBook Pro was used and only had slight cosmetic damage. When I received it I was very surprised. Clearly someone had put heavy duty stickers all over it. You can still read what they say. One of the stickers residue is still gummy. I am 45 so the stickers that were on it were not quite my style. Instagram, GROPS sticker, a sticker that had a profile and it says confidential. Also, the trackpad does not work. Bottom left corner the trackpad is tilted slightly in. You literally cannot use it.
Question to the business owner, how would you make it right after TWO mistakes? Mind you, with your experience, you know how long it takes to transfer data and update a computer not once but TWICE, this is the second computer you had to send me. You failed me once with a laptop with a cracked screen, I needed that first computer that I paid you for, for a work trip and Zoom meetings. I had to send it back to you to get another laptop. Cool, the screen isn't broken in this one, yet your "inspection” failed again because it clearly states that THE BATTERY NEEDS SERVICING. Does that repair/refurbishment meet manufacturer specifications? This is a false advertisement and this will be going beyond just an honest review on your page. You have sent me TWO products advertised on your page as “ been inspected, cleaned, and repaired to meet manufacturer specifications. It is in very good cosmetic condition showing minor signs of use which may include light scratching and/or dings.” The first was a broken screen, and the second was a defective battery. The only thing the business owner is willing to do; is give me a refund if I send it back and have no computer, or send it back to trade for a THIRD time. How about compensating me to get this battery replaced/fixed, giving me my money back with all this wasted time, or trading for a third computer that is brand new or a way better upgrade? I have plenty of more documentation/emails to prove
I purcahsed an Apple - Refurbished MacBook Pro - 15" Display with Touch Bar - Intel Core i7 - 16GB Memory - AMD Radeon Pro 555X- 256GB SSD - Space Gray. I went to pick it up and it was taken out of the box and had scratches all over as well as finger prints all over the screen. In addition, it wouldn’t power on. I was told I could wait a few minites while the associate connected it to a charger. Needless to say, 20 minutes later the macbook would still not power on. The associate went to start the return but was locked out of the system and he couldn’t finish it. I was told that the manager could do it when they returned. I could wait an hour or leave in hopes that they would actually do the return. I couldn’t wait because it was my girlfriend’s birthday and i had reservations. I still received no notification that the return was started. The associate did not relay it to the manager at all. They basically put it back and i received a notification that i could come pick it up in four days. I called and could not get ahold of an associate that would help. They said since i didn’t pick it up that it would be refunded if I didn’t pick it up. As much as i didn’t like that option i rolled the dice and did that. It was refunded but what a mess just to overpay for a refurbished piece of junk. Not worth the risk. Lesson learned.
Honestly, I love this computer. I waited years to be able to have a touch bar. I was a little worried, because while most reviews were great, some were not. But alas! This computer was PERFECT! It's everything I wanted. It was in condition so perfect, I would think it was never or hardly used before they abandoned it. There was no wear anywhere, no damage to keys, the battery is fantastic, the touch bar works, no scratches on any surface. The resolution is so clear I'm almost IN my computer screen! An amazing price, all things considered. We are a couple weeks in as I write this, and I have no complaints. It's EXCELLENT. Everything felt like new, including the charger. No untoward bends or dings anywhere! Charges fast! This mac is everything I ever wanted.
