I especially like the fact that the hinge charging port is on the left side since the iPad charging port is on the right. Again, its nice to have choices.7. The keyboard is a perfect size for the iPad. It is not super lightweight but it is lightweight enough. If I need to worry about weight I can easily remove the iPad and use it without the keyboard.

Very convenient accessory that can be added onto the iPad applecare purchase. You just have to purchase them at the same time if I'm not mistaken. However, I (personally) feel like this charges the tablet or prolongs battery life. Hard to explain and there could very well be no logic to this review but it just lasts longer. Battery life could also be because when it's not attached to keyboard, i'm using the iPad for videos etc). Anyways, keyboard makes it work like a computer. If you're doing light homework, reports, or regular work (emails, microsoft programs, google office) on the go, it's very sufficient. The backside of the keyboard is bendable and can tilt "SLIGHTLY" for comfort. I suggest going in to look at the keyboard in the store before purchase. I feel that if there's a huge height difference on work area and person using it then it "could" become a problem. Lastly, The mouse pad also works like a laptop mouse pad. The world key function is pretty neat so you can switch through keyboards seamlessly.

The Apple Magic Keyboard for iPad Air 5th Gen is undeniably impressive in its functionality and design. Its sleek and minimalistic aesthetic seamlessly transforms your iPad Air into a laptop-like experience. The backlit keys are responsive and provide a comfortable typing experience, while the trackpad integration enhances productivity by allowing precise cursor control. The floating design, which enables smooth adjustments of viewing angles, adds to its versatility. However, it is WAY too expensive for what it is.

Good but needs improvement

I like the keyboard over all but there are some issues that really make the execution of this keyboard subpar. The key travel is perfect and gives you the feel of a laptop in a tiny little travel sized package. I am happy that it is back lit, this truly helps with typing late, with low light situations. Finger placement for such a small space is well planned out making typing easy. The touch pad is sensitive enough and being able to click with it is pleasant, however, I would prefer to be able to do both click functions that are possible with a traditional laptop. I would also like the ability to turn the track pad off or to decrease the sensitivity, I find that when I am typing my hand will brush the touch pad moving my cursor while writing, completely messing up ... MoreI like the keyboard over all but there are some issues that really make the execution of this keyboard subpar. I would also like the ability to turn the track pad off or to decrease the sensitivity, I find that when I am typing my hand will brush the touch pad moving my cursor while writing, completely messing up my body of work. (This is only an issue as the size of the keyboard is so compact) I also love its automatic connection to the iPad and how secure the magnet is. I am also glad that I do not have to charge it.I wish that the screen could be more adjustable, it feels too stiff and limited motion is disappointing, as in some positions I would like to be able to lean it back further. I would also like to be able to rotate the screen and place it over the keyboard for creating art, I have to switch cases for this now and it is inconvenient. I don’t like the lack of protection, the edges of the iPad are completely exposed and if I were to drop it while it is in this “case” not only would the screen shatter but the iPad would dislodge and fly out of the “case”. I am also upset there was no consideration for the Apple Pencil. If I were to take it out there is nothing preventing the $200 pencil from falling off never to be found again.Though the product supplies what is asked for in a keyboard, it completely fails as a supportive case designed to protect the iPad and secure the pencil. It is also completely inept for a writer who also likes to create art work without having to have a separate case for storage and art. It requires much revamping to make it more secure product for safely carrying a $1000 product.

My new favorite keyboard for my iPad Pro
27 August 2021

I was contemplating buying this keyboard since the 1st generation came out. I tried getting a Logitech wireless multi-device keyboard for my iPad and loved it for the time being. Although, it was inconvenient having to carry a separate keyboard with my iPad, connect it, and have no trackpad.Once I started using the Magic Keyboard with my iPad, it made multitasking with my Macbook Pro a lot easier. I was able to quickly type things or pull a document up using the trackpad on my iPad, or swipe down to see my lock screen and command center. The white is a beautiful color and has stayed extremely clean. It scared me at first. Although every time I would get a smudge on it, I would wipe it off with a Clorox wipe and it came right off. It scared me at first. Although every time I would get a smudge on it, I would wipe it off with a Clorox wipe and it came right off. Therefore, I believe that it's going to take a lot for this case to get dirty. The trackpad and keys are a good size for my hands, although I wish I could make the trackpad touch only instead of having to click it. The noise of clicking the trackpad can be pretty clicky although, it's quite satisfying. The fact that you never have to change batteries or the keyboard itself is what makes it so efficient and easy to use.Cons:- the price because I feel as though this is a great case and keyboard for my iPad but I wish it was cheaper- the white color may start to change over time- the keyboard case does not cover the edges of my iPad which can be scary if you may be clumsy and have a fear of dropping your iPad- I bought mine as an open-box product in excellent condition and although it's excellent condition, the keyboard came with more cosmetic issues than I thoughtPros:- the trackpad and keyboard are a good size considering my iPad is the 11-inch iPad- when you want to tilt your iPad back, it does go back quite far- it turns your iPad into a mini Macbook- even though the price is high, you are getting a high-quality product

Nice accessory with a caveat…

Apple obviously went through a lot of ideas when designing this cover. My iPad snaps in perfectly into it, and the keys have a nice feel to them, If you want to, you can use your iPad paired with this cover as a laptop replacement in a pinch. Cantilever design is excellent for getting the right viewing angle, and it feels sturdy enough to last constant adjustments. Charging my iPad is easy too since there is a port on the cover that allows pass-thru charging while the iPad is attached. It does have a nice, premium feel to it, matching the overall aesthetic of Apple products in general. It does have a nice, premium feel to it, matching the overall aesthetic of Apple products in general. With that said, I believe that there was one oversight when designing this keyboard cover: the Apple Pencil.Be advised that if you have or are currently looking into getting an Apple Pencil, there is no dedicated slot to store it when using this cover alone. The Pencil just sits on the side of your tablet exposed, which can lead to losing it or simply having it drop on the ground. I’m currently missing a knock-off due to this oversight- thank goodness it was the knock-off instead of an accessory that has a list price of $129!If you are only interested in typing and storage, this is a pricy yet elegant option to pair with an iPad Air or Pro. To reiterate, this an easily turn your precious tablet into a laptop-like workhorse, making it ideal for traveling business professionals. On the other hand, it doesn’t quite play with other first party accessories well outside of a usb cable, the Pencil in particular. If you want to use both, you might want to consider a tech pouch or scouring the internet for iPad cases that have a pen slot. I am having success with a MOFT case right now, and I’ve even seen some product pages for metal plates that you place between the iPad and the cover to allow Pencil storage…

Nice but missing some important features
13 December 2022

Pros: light weight, clean design. Folds up neatly with the keyboard tucked inside protecting the iPad screen. iPad keeps keyboard and Apple Pencil charged.Cons: the cover that the iPad sets in does not protect the corners of the iPad. Also, the iPad falls out easily from the cover. The keyboard is missing a row of function keys that control the brightness of the screen, different levels of lighting adjustment for the keyboard, volume control buttons and fast forward or back buttons when you’re watching videos; all important function keys that I am used to with my older Brydge keyboard. Returning the Apple Magic Keyboard, and exchanging it for a new Brydge keyboard.

Perfect Apple Magic Keyboard for an iPad Air (5th)
5 February 2023

I purchased the iPad Air (5th generation) and wanted to turn it into a small laptop so I went and and purchased the Apple Magic Keyboard to go along with it. The keyboard is just the perfect size and syncs up to my iPad Air easily. I wanted a white keyboard and this one fit the bill. I love the keys which are quiet and don't make a lot of noise. I could've purchased a cheaper keyboard but I wanted the quality that Apple products are known for. Plus, it matches nicely with my iPad Air, Like I mentioned before, it's just what I wanted, my own small laptop, lightweight and easy to take along with me anywhere. I am happy with my Apple Magic Keyboard 2nd generation, purchased at my local Best Buy store.

Perfect accessory
29 March 2023

The Magic Keyboard is really unmatched in it's performance. The knockoffs don't quite cut it and have to be charged working off of Bluetooth where the Magic Keyboard does not need charging due to the connectors to the device. I changed the iPad experience substantially. I have one on my iPad pro and one of my iPad air. Love it and highly recommend it..! I saved some money by finding an open box buy at my local Best Buy store and it was like brand new. I guess someone else didn't need or want it and it's a good way to get all authentic device for less than full price. The only downside is the high price.

Seamless use with an iPad.

I am super happy with this keyboard case. I don't have to worry about charging it seperately with the iPad like I did with my old 3rd party keyboard case, and it just works well and seamlessly. The magnetic attachment is great, and because it holds it's hinged position on it's own it's better for use on airplanes, laps, etc where this is minimal surface space. The backlight is nice, and the trackpad works well. The only thing I wish was different, I wish there was some sort of mechanism to protect/hold the Apple Stylus. When the case is folded closed for transport, the stylus just stays on the exposed edge of the iPad magnetically like normal. But it can be easily knocked off.
