This is my 'first ever' Apple Magic Keyboard. I've had this for 8 weeks. I'm a typist so I know the importance of a keyboard and I've used a few over the years. I purchased this product so I just had to bluetooth direct to my MacBook , no additional connectors needed. The keyboard is light weight, the keys are nicely spaced, soft to the touch and very responsive. The keyboard does not lie completely flat. It is slightly raised at the back, a feature built into the whole keyboard design - this means no need to extend feet underneath to lift and tilt the keyboard forward. Very happy with this purchase, don't know why I didn't buy one of these 4 years ago.Making my work day, a happy day, every day

A Full-size Keyboard with a Hidden Secret

I'm writing this review on the Apple full-size wireless keyboard, connected to a new Mac Studio. I really appreciate the complete keyboard layout.Function keys are programmable using System Settings Keyboard.Typing is straightforward with a nice touch. Deluxe Touch

The standard keyboard that came with my computer is nice. Thank goodness when checking out, the Manager said I can return it. Very smart because once I tried this larger deluxe keyboard it is like night and day. The only thing I don’t like is it hurts my wrist, even if it’s only for a short time. Apple needs to come up with something to help others before they get carpal tunnel. Since I am being completely honest with you, I don’t really care for the mouse. It’s smooth & pretty to look at. Disappointing

I've used the regular usb keyboard for years, so I was excited to spend the large amount of money on the upgraded magic keyboard. Firstly the keys are a lot thinner than the regular keyboard so it almost feels like you're typing on nothing. For me it doesn't feel great. As a graphic designer I need to feel the keyboard.Secondly, I use two macbook pros. One for my business and one for another company I do work for. They keyboard doesnt't like swapping from one to the other and I have have a hard time doing so. My work around is to select "forget" each time I need to swap. For the amount of money you pay for this keyboard you'd expect more.Overall, I’m really disappointed. It’s really not worth the money.

Excellent keyboard with one shortcoming.

Replaced my keyboard twice on 5 year old iMac; simply as the 'stenciled' letters wear-off and aren't legible. Even this replacement is already fading. While the key movement range and all is fine; and connectivity perfect; this is 'cheap' on Apple's part for not having 'etched' (deep not superficial) lettering; or better yet backlit keys similar to my MacBook Pro. If Apple says that would consumer too much power; nah.. in fact the keyboard could have a small on-off switch for power next to the main power switch on the back. Lack of this makes it insufficiently finished for a pricey product. Or make this standard and offer a premium version if price and profit margins are that important ... Tim Apple haha.. improve this! Please Mr. Cook.

I have one con, but still gave it five stars!

I bought this keyboard because I had such trouble buying a non-apple keyboard with my last Mac book. However, I was skeptical of there, being that much of a difference and didn’t think paying the price for a separate Apple keyboard would be worth it in the end, but wanted to give it a try since I could always take it back.There is a huge difference! First of all, it was so easy to connect once I found the on off switch. I love slim and easy to use. The keys are larger enough for my fingers, but they’re so quiet and of course I love the number pad always prefer. So far the battery life seems pretty impressive but I do turn it off when I remember just in case.What I don’t like is the fact that it isn’t very ergonomic. Why they ever discontinued the less expensive corded version of this keyboard is beyond me.The low profile everything means thin, light, flimsy materials. A six-year old could grab these keyboards with two hands and easily twist them into a pretzel. Even if you keep your magic keyboard on a solid, flat surface while typing, you're going to feel quite a lot of flex to it. To put it bluntly, this keyboard feels cheap, like free keyboard you get with most budget PCs, except those keyboards actually sell for a tenth of the magic keyboard (or less).The tiny home row key feelers on the F and J keys to help tell you touch-type wear off within a few weeks. Likewise the lettering wears off relatively quickly, though not as quickly as the F/J feelers.The failure rate is high. I don't know what the MTBF keystroke rating is on these or if it even has one. I've never received a DOA magic keyboard, but on a regular basis I have to replace these because one or two keys have quit working. I have super cheap PC keyboards that have been around 10 years without an issue, but these last maybe 3-5 years of regular office use.
