Key spacing and size is similar to a traditional desktop keyboard but overall it is a more compact product - keeping the desk tidy. It pairs reliably with my MacBook Pro and has a familiar feel - it also works well when using the MacBook with Bootcamp as a windows machine. This keyboard exhibits traditional Apple quality and feels robust as well as being wonderfully sleek. Could it be improved? How about a back-lit version- although that may spoil the excellent battery life between charges? Highly recommended.

I love having the numeric keypad off to the side, as I use it a lot. Battery life is amazing. Bought this "open box" and the description was accurate. No cosmetic issues. Functions perfectly. Keyboard itself is exactly what I wanted for my office setup with my laptop and second screen. Considered springing for the keyboard with the touch ID, but my laptop is a foot away, so I opted for this one. Works well. Keeps a charge for a while. Unsure if it will tell me when it's low. I just plug it in every few days for a few hours to be safe.

The standard keyboard that came with my computer is nice. Thank goodness when checking out, the Manager said I can return it. Very smart because once I tried this larger deluxe keyboard it is like night and day. The only thing I don’t like is it hurts my wrist, even if it’s only for a short time. Apple needs to come up with something to help others before they get carpal tunnel. Since I am being completely honest with you, I don’t really care for the mouse. It’s smooth & pretty to look at. Why, oh why do I have to be an Apple fanboy? It's so unattractive. But look. As a MacBook Pro user who has his laptop hooked up to a monitor, I do need an external keyboard. After Apple ditched the wired version, I refused to indulge them on their wireless shenanigans, and went for a third party product. Big surprise: It's not as good. Not as expensive, for sure, but saving forty dollars is not a bargain if you're constantly unhappy. And keys that won't respond, or are in the SLIGHTLY wrong position, or don't give your fingertips the right feedback, are like a pebble in your shoe. Gotta spring for the real deal. So far, it's still running on its first charge, so I can't even really complain about the wireless thing. You win again, evil empire.

Very basic keyboard. Not worth the money. Felt like typing on a laptop. No way to adjust the tilt of the keyboard, and was too flat on the desk for comfortable use. It's an okay Bluetooth keyboard, but it's just way too expensive for what it is. Pairing with my iMac was easy, and the quality itself is fine, as Apple stuff usually is. Returned it for a Logitech K750 Solar for Mac keyboard for nearly a 3rd the price, and it's better in every way. Tilt adjustable, solar charging, same shortcuts/keys, better feeling keys/switches, little more spread out and not as cramped feeling. Can't recommend the Magic Keyboard, unless you just want to stick with all Apple hardware.

I heard about OWC selling the same Magic keyboards as Apple, but for less. I called to confirm. Yup. OWC bought in bulk and packages them in brown cardboard.I've had mine for a few months. I am absolutely satisfied and saved money by purchasing through OWC. Why anyone would pay Apple's full price is a mystery to me. Mine is the full size with number pad at the right. OWC has similar savings on the smaller version.Help spread the word to anyone you know who might want one. For example, family and friends who are going to buy a Mac laptop like I did, or a Mac mini.IMPORTANT - These have TouchID, so they can be used with the lid closed on MacBooks connected to an external monitor.
