I've always been a clicky MX Blue type of person, my favorite keyboard of all time being the old NorthGate keyboards from the 90s. However I love the keyboard on my MacBook Pro and Touch ID. I expected it to have one like my MBP but it doesn't. I have a monitor light so it's not bad at night but I do miss it. I'm sure it would eat in to the batter life but I would have been ok with that.

Great keyboard! I use my MacBook Pro as my everyday computer for work and I have it attached to two additional wide monitors. Because of this, my MacBook is on the left side of my desk set-up. I like the extra convenience and security of the fingerprint option, but until I got this new keyboard I had to lean over to reach the fingerprint button on my MacBook. The Magic Keyboard as a whole is super comfortable to use. I love the clicking sound it makes (not too loud) and the chicklet feel of the buttons. I do prefer the black keyboard to the white one. I'm actually buying this one to replace the white Magic Keyboard I spilled coffee on.

Apple keyboard layout is designed well with key feel, response, size and spacing makes typing a breeze. However, since there isnt any way to tilt the keyboard, its not ergonomic. After long periods of typing, your hands will feel the pain. Second issue, with at least this keyboard, is that the touch sensor randomly stops working. I power it down and then back up, then it will work for a little while then stops again. This happens whenever it is connected to Bluetooth or directly plugged in the USB-C connection on my laptop (MacBook Pro 14 M1). Hope this helps quantify my rating and helps future buyers adequately evaluate before buying.

Even though the keyboard is very light, small pads on the back make it very stable with no sliding around on the desk top. At my level of usage recharging the Magic Keyboard is required very infrequently. The number pad and Touch ID were the driving factors in my purchase because I never advanced beyond one finger, by sight use of linear number keys. I would actually grade this keyboard closer to but just short of 5 because (a) I find the alphabetic key placement to feel a little close, (b) I still like the more pronounced depressions on the Logitech keys but I am getting more accustomed to the Magic Keyboard, (c) ... MoreOverall I have found this keyboard to be very good for my purposes. The Logitech MX Keys Mini comes in black or white and has a 10-key option as well for just a few dollars more, but I prefer the Mini arrangement as a desktop space saving alternative.
