I have used apple ipad 8th gen so far and it is a prefect shift and upgrade with the ipad Pro 11 inches 2022 model. The 128gb memory is just enough for me as a mild to moderate user and the features are immense within it. The display and the fluidity of the screen is something very special I have enjoyed on this ipad pro. Perfect size and weight to be hand-held. The face recognition has worked beautifully and the optiin of having more than 1 face recognition makes it a family use smooth. The sound from the device is adequate and clear for a hand-held device screen experience. The colour variants being only 2 options in this model is a small down side. Coupling the apple pencile with it as combo offers would improve the buy rate in my opinion.

I had this since it launched in 2015. I have used it every day for playing light games, watching YouTube, Netflix and general Web surfing. I also taken it to Europe with me when I went for a long holiday which was brilliant when I needed something light and portable. This has been absolutely fantastic and still going strong (knocks on wood and bites my tongue) it's the only apple product I have but I am very thankful that I have had no issues. The only thing I had to replace was the charging cable as it degraded after several years. I still have the original keyboard to though I tend not to use it nowadays. Also just updated it to IOS16 with no issues. Thank you Apple, you built a solid product. I may upgrade maybe end of this year or next year. My 10 year old iMac was rapidly fading and needed to be replaced and I first considered replacing it with a new one. However the architecture of my desk required a monitor no larger than about 21 inches and only 27 inch monitors are available now. My search for a suitable replacement was rewarded with the computer described above. My dealings with OWC were exemplary, their web site showed two or three computers that would meet my needs, my phone conversation with the knowledgeable woman I dealt with was pleasant and effective and resulted in my order. The computer arrived within a few days, it was well packed and after transferring the data from my old machine and using it for some time it does fit the description "mint condition". This is my 3rd IPad. I chose this model for a critical reason; the unlocked cell version contains the GPS electronics. I need this to use aviation moving maps . I also loaded up on internal memory for the same reason. I will say I was dissatisfied with the previous version as there are two items which will render the IPAD useless is a broken screen, not too bad because it is repairable and the USB charging port wearing out and was NOT REPAIRABLE! The older IPAD the usb was directly connected to the primary board and you might as well toss because it then could not be charged. The newer IPads have this circuit as a separate module. Having said this the IPad has a charging port which is separate. If you look on the back of the iPad there are three little dots. Those dots connect up to the very expensive IPAD key board and it can charge the internal battery without the wear and tear. Why do they not have a charging device which does not cost an arm and a leg? So that’s my complaint. Spend this kind of money and let a wearable part used every day which will eventually break. Are the designers brain dead? So the right to repair is something APPLE is Fighting. They reluctantly will supple parts but each part is coded to a particular serial number. I guess this is progress. So would I ever not buy an IPad? Nope in this day and time I cannot see me not being connected. I love the operation and the ease of use. Apple is fighting on another front not to have the iPad replace their equally great laptops. So they are careful not to let the systems overlap too much. So if you use apple products you will pay in more ways than one. I do believe they make superior products.
Thank you John Lewis for prompt delivery of my IPad Pro, my Magic Keyboard, my Apple Pencil. This was a gift from my loving Husband for which I Thank You. I bought the ipad pro 2022 with expectations to learn how to do digital art. I hear a lot of raving reviews about the Apple Appstore exclusive, procreate. There are however a lot of caveats about the apple pencil (I have the gen 2) that people don't often emphasize, which I'd like to highlight in my review since I also have the samsung tab s7+.The Apple Pencil Gen 2 and the iPad does NOT work well with glass screen protectors. I don't care what the product description says on screen protectors; they just suck -- it basically made my quick notes app worthless (every time I tried to write on it, it drew a connecting line from the top left of the screen to wherever i started to draw). I don't care what the product description says on screen protectors; they just suck -- it basically made my quick notes app worthless (every time I tried to write on it, it drew a connecting line from the top left of the screen to wherever i started to draw). I tried restarting, unpairing and repairing the pen, toggling bluetooth -- the only solution that worked was taking my screen protector off. I've seen reviews of using other types of screen protectors like Paperlike, which you'd have to understand will wear down your pencil nibs faster. My other gripe is that quite often the apple pencil doesn't register or do anything, I have to dock it again and undock it from the magnetic side. This may seem insignificant; however, it gets annoying when you have a case on (and why wouldn't you want a case, when you know you can't have a screen protector). I wish it would just simply work. This draws my point to the samsung tab s7+. That is a 2 year old device, and granted, I would say it was the first tablet samsung put out that I would say could compete with the ipads. And it does so quite well. Samsung's had experience with the stylus for many years ahead of apple (because Steve Jobs detested the idea of having a stylus). The functionality of the stylus on the samsung beats the apple pencil by a long shot. It also feels more comfortable to use; however, that's a personal preference that you'd have to try for yourself. For me, the apple pencil just slides around on the slipper glass surface and makes it hard to really control compared to the nicer feeling tip on the S pen. Again, preference. At the end of the day, you pick an iPad over a Samsung if you absolutely must have the Procreate app and value longevity of software support. I believe the S7+ will be supported through 2024, but the S8 and beyond are supposed to get longer product support cycles. The ipad is significantly more expensive and hard to justify.
Coming from a fifth generation iPad, it was hard to get used to not having the button at the bottom. Also other things to get used to with new iOS, like when I swipe up from the bottom, the taskbar pops up first, when I’m used to minimizing the screen first. So you kind of have to continue swiping to shrink your browser window, or search through apps, not sure if I’m explaining that clearly, but when you swipe up to get all the open windows and apps, and you can flick them up to make them disappear, that’s the function I’m talking about. I also IMMEDIATELY noticed this speaker, improvement, and how light weight and thin the unit is. Though it’s not the HDR screen the larger pro has, I think the quality is great, again a big improvement from my iPad fifth generation. ... MoreComing from a fifth generation iPad, it was hard to get used to not having the button at the bottom. I also IMMEDIATELY noticed this speaker, improvement, and how light weight and thin the unit is. Though it’s not the HDR screen the larger pro has, I think the quality is great, again a big improvement from my iPad fifth generation. It looks bigger than my iPad fifth generation, but it doesn’t feel any heavier or harder to hold. I have not bought the keyboard for it, but I’m thinking about it as it is seems from online reviews kind of handy to not drag my laptop inside or further taking out my laptop, plugging it in, and going through all that when this is always charged and in my room. I can swipe through emails, search the web, check out YouTube, social media, real estate, all very easily, while lying in bed without any discomfort. I added a slim shell case, as I don’t like those other cases that cover and prop up, and feel bulky holding while sitting in bed, or on the couch. Battery also last twice as long as my four or five year old fifth-generation. A dislike is the power down feature , though, I think I can fix that in settings, and screenshot doesn’t feel natural either. It’s set up where I pinch the top button and top volume button meaning I have to grab the top corner together with fingers on both hands and doesn’t feel easy to do in hand and I have to rest the tablet on my stomach to hold pressure while pressing. Old method better and more secure using the two palms of my hand on two opposite ends of the tablet made it much easier to hold without feeling like the tablet is gonna fly out of my hand, or fall on the ground. Also the old method was easy, either horizontally or vertically. I guess I have to get used to it if I can’t fix it in settings, which I know there are a few settings like that which I need to explore. So I’ve heard it before, and now I agree, Apple needs to bring back the button!!!
I believe Microcenter is doing a good job in regards to helping customers. I did use the text to customer for the first time and it was a good experience. I had to go to multiple stores and only one person who was a formal Sprint employee new this. It needs to be explained to them that in order to put the Ipad Pro 11 4th generation on a T mobile account you will need to be fully migrated to a T Mobile plan if for some reason your have a cheaper plan then the newer plans then the other option would be to purchase the 6th Generation IPad pro 12.9 inch with Cellular and it should work.We tested the IPad Pro 11 4th generation with a tmobile only slim card and the IPad pro 11 4th generation did work but it was for someone who has a straight T Mobile account and not a migrated account. When the 6 generation IPad pro was purchased I immediately called T Mobile to check to see if it was compatible and they immediately said that the device was compatible and I was able to put it on a new line and new slim card without a issue and then cancel my other line that had my old Ipad device. This allowed me to do a fresh start on the device then I restored the I cloud backup. But I checked the imei number through t mobile first this time before I added all of my stuff back on.So please make sure this is noted in bold letters on your website for this device so other people who are in a similar situation want buy the wrong one and have to spend a day trying to figure this out like I did. I will be working to add this possibly to one of your reviewsRemember: This device does work with a straight T Mobile account. This device will give you issues if you have a account that was mitigated from a Sprint to T Mobile. This review has nothing to do with Micro Center love this place and would recommend them to anyone. This is to help Formal sprint customers who want to upgrade their tablet to the new one and want to purchase it outright and add it to their existing account but dont know which one works if they have a migrated sprint account this took me from 11 am to 5 pm to get resolved so im going to help save other people time
I pre-ordered both the 11 inch and 12.9 Inch Pros. I wanted the smaller form factor of the 11 inch but the XDR Display in the 12.9 is a must for me. I bought the IPad Pro for editing my photo’s. I Really wanted the 11 inch form factor as it can fit in more of my camera bags and i would be more likely to take on certain shoots. Comparing this to the 11 inch was hard but you could clearly tell the Blacks are just blacker on this new display. I bought a I pad Pro back in 2018 when they came out with the first 11 inch pro and returned it as my I phone X just had a better display, i couldn’t justifying paying that much when i would have to finish editing color’s back on my phone for the final conclusion. The older display just seem to have a hazy fog across them this new display eliminates that, however i am still disappointed the 11 inch has the none XDR display. That was a mistake on apple’s part in my opinion. I didn’t keep the older IPad and therefore can’t compare the new M1 to the older chips however the M1 has plenty of reviews and will certainly not be the bottle neck on any I pad pros this year. I upgraded to the 256 GB version to match my phones storage and just have a little more wiggle room than a 128, But i already have a 1 TB portable SSD that I don’t use for my laptop anymore because i upgraded my internal storage on that. So I figured i didn’t need more than 256 lets hope i don’t regret that. The Cellular version will be nice to always have a connection. 5G is a big thing in my area so it will be nice to see if it’s worth upgrading the trustworthy I phone X for the new I phone this Fall if 5G is really that much faster. I can Tell already i will be happy with this display and not worry about my phone having a nicer display than my I pad Pro. There are some Blooming issues but I think i will be able to look past those its worth the deep blacks.
I must have at least 7-8 iPads over the years. I currently have 2 iPad Pros (2020/2021) and just purchased the 12.9 iPad Pro 2023 version (M2). I am not a designer but use the iPad Pro every day totaling at least 3-4 hours daily for emails, web browsing, reading, travel, etc.I figured, if the 11" works, why not go BIGGER? Well, I just discovered that the 12.9" iPad Pro is totally overkill for most users who don't actually use the pen feature or draw/design with it. In fact, I'm not sure who actually uses the pen feature daily but I'm sure they exist.Coupled with the Magic Keyboard, it's my iOS go-to for ease-of-use if I'm sitting at my desk or on a stable/flat surface. However, the size difference between the 11 and 12.9 is something to behold. In the past, I held the older iPad Pro with 1 hand in bed or reclining on my office couch (when taking a break). The 12.9" is HUGE and it becomes tiring after a while. It is really heavy when coupled with the Magic Keyboard to nearly unusable on your lap.I thought Stage Manager would help me with multitasking ala my Windows computers and 2-in-1 Surface Book. Nope. Stage Manager is still a "work in progress" and it's not worth the learning curve and tweaking. I tried it for a week and turned it off completely.Plus - I'm getting a bit older and I've increased the size of the icons and text without feeling that I've lost space. It seems to be more energy efficient. Not as warm as the 11" version. It's bright! I can use it with the Magic Keyboard as a shield and weapon.Con - Weight and the virtual keyboard is too spaced out for ease of use. The Magic Keyboard weighs more than the iPad Pro itself. Stage Manager is gimmicky and not worth it.Is the iPad Pro necessary? If you don't actively use the pen (which I own but rarely use) and you don't really need the brighter screen (which is too bright at night of all things), stick with the 11" iPad Pro. Your wrists and hands will thank you.
