Early Christmas present for my daughter. She’s been having a difficult time in school, and her creativity is her escape. She’s always been extremely creative and artistic, so, this year I decided to take the plunge and get this for her iPad, it did not disappoint. The technology, features and usability that go into this product is second to none, and although she’s only had it for a week, the masterpieces that she has crafted are phenomenal. I would highly recommend this to any parent that has an inquisitively creative child!

I purchased this pencil for my 3rd Generation iPad 12.9 as mainly a pointing device to navigate through my textbook readings, but found it to be very useful in every other application that I frequent as well. I would recommend this pencil for anyone who could use its versatility. My son tested the pencil on his graphic art applications and gave us a strong thumbs up. The only noticeable difference between my pencil and his Apple Pencil, he remarked is The Price. My pencil was remarkably less in price. Its a quality find.

As an illustrator I purchased this to upgrade my digital drawing set up to the 2020 12.9" iPad. Having used the earlier version of the ipencil & a 2017 iPad 9.7" I'm glad to see features on this new pencil that help streamline my work. This ipencil is much more comfortable to hold with its more pencil like shape & it feels lighter, better balanced. The ability to have it charge by magnetically attaching to the side of the iPad is brilliant, so quick & less risk of it getting broken like the old one which you had to plug in at the bottom of the older iPads so that they were sticking out. This new stick to the side feature also means I don't have to buy a separate case for the pencil. I just attach it to my iPad and the folder closes around it. Another fab feature is ... I've been debating whether to buy one since I bought my new iPad. I knew nothing about them because I couldn't use it with my older iPad. It has surpassed every expectation I had. I've got to be honest and say that, despite the reviews, I had fairly low expectations of it living up to the hype. All I can say is that it deserves every 5 star review. It's fantastic. I can't draw at all but love just doodling and playing with the colours. I have managed to draw flowers using the "fill" option and I was amazed. It's also great for writing notes etc. if anyone is on the fence about whether to get one, I'd say go ahead. You won't be disappointed. Yes I suppose it was expensive (tho I've no idea how much comparable ones cost) but I think it's expensive for a reason. It ... MoreI've been debating whether to buy one since I bought my new iPad. I bought this along with my new iPad and I'm so glad I did! I now take all my personal and work notes on the laptop and have found a solution to my need for paper and pen to think! The iPads handwriting recognition isn't bad and there's some cheap note taking apps that are superb and have excellent handwriting recognition.I tried three different note taking apps before finding the one for me, but once I did the Apple Pencil has been brilliant. It charges phenomenally fast. It's a nice weight to hold and feels pretty good to write with. There are screen protectors you can buy to make note taking feel even more like writing on paper but I haven't done this as it distorts screen quality and I also use my iPads to review and edit photographs and I still find ... After having tried a couple of other brands' products which were meant to be work seamlessly with the iPad, I opted to go back to the Pencil. I'm glad I did because it does work seamlessly with it, and all interactions between it and the Pencil are effortless.I particularly like the charging method and that when it is not in use, it rests very neatly on top. This can cause some issues though, particularly when travelling, as the magnetic attraction of the Pencil to the iPad isn't as strong as it could be.The other thing you cannot escape from is that there is not friction or resistance when using it against the glass screen which, if like me, you are used to with conventional paper and pencil, the handwriting element can get a bit messy and spider-like!
Always going to be able to rely on Apple being able to create a seemless experience with its other products. I used a first generation Apple Pencil and a 2016 iPad pro for my univerisity course. Summer 2021 I decided to upgrade my set up and go for an iPad Aie Gen 4 and and a Second Gen Apple Pencil. So far, I've have been as impressed by this pencil as I was when I got the original pencil. The new design and functionaity has much improved the experience. The magnetic connection to the side of the iPad is excellent and really solid. It will stay connected within a backpack for example. The matte finish is nice, the weght is well balanced. It dosen't come with replacement tips but they are fairly cheap and easy to buy online.
Pros: I like how easy it is to use and charge/connect to an ipad. I also like that you can start writing notes without unlocking your ipad. I like the double tap feature and how with different angles and pressures can create different thicknesses and different outcomes.Cons: I don't like how unsafe it is while being attacked to the ipad. With only a small magnet holding it on. I once had my old apple pencil fall off and hit the fall hence why I had to purchase another.
Pros: The Apple Pencil has been a great addition to use with my iPad Air 2020. There’s a lot of uses included just scrolling through web pages or reaching corners of the iPad easier. It is very sensitive to pressure from the slightest tough to pushing harder down on the screen and everything inbetween. It picks up the angle of writing easily and makes drawing, editing, erasing and writing a lot more authentic and more natural as I don’t have to keep changing the paint brush settings to get lighter/darker strokes or change the width to get wider or thinner lines as the pencil does it all automatically and without hesitation. It has a very good hand feel and after spending prolonged periods of writing it’s still comfortable to hold and the Matt finish helps it not ... Attaching magnetically to the side of my tablet and also charging from it is incredibly useful as it’s always there and charged when I want to use it and the magnets are strong and keep it firmly in position. The battery life is also very impressive as I’ve never managed to get it to go anywhere below 80% charged. The double tap works very well and is very useful for writing notes or drawing and saves a lot of messing around with selecting the marker or eraser.Cons: It can be knocked off from the side of the iPad or get in the way if you are holding the tablet two handed and portrait however I bought after buying a self adhesive Apple Pencil sleeve for £8 I don’t have that problem anymore but always have the pencil there without occasionally being in the way. The double tap feature works better on the flat side (that’s what you're meant to do) but on the rounded edges or further up it doesn’t always pick the double tap up but if you hold the pencil as it should the double tap is responsive and sensitive. The scribble feature could do with some work in regards picking up some letters or numbers although I have the hand writing of a child at best which I’m sure doesn’t help.
I wasnt about to spend $129 on a 2nd gen Apple Pencil when I already spent $99 on the 1st gen one. Caution - the new iPad 6th gen mini ONLY works with the 2nd gen Pencil. So I figured Id try this. Its great - snaps right on to charge, has color indicators for battery life (none of the Apple Pencils do), and even better, takes screenshots by double clicking the top part. Really cool especially since the screenshot controls are close together on the mini 6 and kind of hard to maneuver. What it doesnt do, is the double shake/tap thing that the 2nd gen ApplePencil does to bring up the eraser, but, meh. The screenshot click thing is way more useful for me. Extremely good value for the money. I highly recommend. Full disclosure: I dont sketch or draw, so I cant speak for ... But it makes me happy and so far so very good
