The apple Tv has always been something very useful if you don't cable. You can download all these streaming app all at once which I love. Though it could be slow at some times but not that much. I love how you can also rent and purchase movies from the Apple TV. Overall I really like this item and will continue to buy the next coming Apple TV's.

The Apple TV runs great, does everything it’s supposed to do. This was refurbished, but you would never know, as the unit I received was in perfect condition. No scrapes or knicks. The only downside is, the 3rd generation does not allow you to add any new apps, but I can AirPlay my Fios and streaming services. It also connects to my HomePod for that stereo sound quality.

I recently subscribed to Apple TV+ for the primary reason of watching the new series named "Severance". When I saw issues streaming to my Roku device, I figured that if I obtained an "official", Apple device, I'd have better success. Sadly, I'm having similar issues with this device. It's NOT my Internet connection as Prime video, Netflix, and Hulu stream perfectly. After spending 45 minutes with Apple support, they concluded that my only option seems to be to obtain a new Apple TV device at a cost of about $150. I suppose this review is a bit unfair as the problems really appear to be more related to Apple's streaming service than the device. But for me, its sole purpose is for watching Apple TV+! And sadly it fails.
I got an early model because I wanted it for home sharing iTunes and not much else. It serves that purpose excellently. This generation only allows the use of a set number of built-in apps which you can show or hide on the main menu. If you want to add apps youll need a later model. Setup was very straightforward. Streaming is good for both video and audio.
My only purpose for this 3rd generation Apple TV is for "screen mirroring" of both my iPad Mini and iPhone7. It works great for that purpose. Easy to set up. Just remember that it connects to one of your TV's inputs so, to see it, you must use your TV remote to switch the input to the one you put the Apple TV on. Just one warning though. If you have two apple devices like I do, the option for either Apple TV or Screen Mirroring may (temporarily) disappear from the Control Center of your iPad or your phone (the Control Center is what pops up on your handheld device if you swipe up from the bottom) if they are both connected at the same time to the same WiFi network as your Apple TV. All I use this for is screen casting from my iPhone or MacBook. Otherwise it is outdated. For $15 it was good value. My TV is still the OLD kind and I use a HDMI to RCA plug adaptor, so I do not need 4K resolution. If you want to have more advanced features, like viewing YouTube, buy the newer versions.

A+ for design, the box looks nice and the small remote is snazzy looking but is really not my cup of tea for long so I mainly use the AppleTV remote app. It should be fine for the more casual users but the more techy users may find its limitations too much to use on a regular basis.
Works perfectly playing Netflix from an iPhone onto your TV when you have no WiFi. It also works well with BBC iPlayer. However, the ITV Hub app can't mirror content from the iPhone/Mac to the 3rd gen Apple TV. The ITV app explained that it can only mirror content from the iPhone/Mac if using the fourth generation (or above) version of Apple TV. Fingers crossed that any updates to the BBC/Netflix Apps don't compromise compatibility with the 3rd gen version. Note that the previous 3rd Gen version of Apple TV A1427 can't mirror any content from iPhone/Macs. Make sure it's the A1469 version.
