My little life saver on more than one occasion. It’s small, and very strong. I thought I would eventually have an issue with the connector pieces coming apart but have never had an issue. I also don’t feel like the sound is at all different from when you have your phone plugged straight into the headphones vs using this. The downside is this is only compatible with the old iphone charger slot , and not the newer iphones. It’s rare I use wire headphones, but it always saves the day when one of my bluetooth options are not available to me.

I see many reviews are pointing out that the audio is very quiet through these. This is true. But I bought it knowing that was the case. However, I believe it is supposed to be better on Apple products, it, is only a problem for Android devices as this is an apple adapter and they don't design for android. However, with that in mind, you either need an amplifier to increase the volume, or accept the volume will be lower.Otherwise, and if you look up audiophile reviews of various USB-C to headphone adaptors on the market, these provide the clearest and best audio out there, at least for the price. No one sells them this cheap. My only real gripe, is the cable is so small, the whole thing feels super delicate, and I am worried about breaking it, not that I have ... MoreI see many reviews are pointing out that the audio is very quiet through these. It really hurts me to say this, But I whole heartedly recommend this adaptor. Just be aware of the low volume output. But all my headphones can put out more than enough volume. Maybe not ideal for room speakers without some form of amplification.

While this is cheap, it's low quality and feels like it will fall apart soon. The main problem though is that the output is quiet.I got it so I could connect my phone to my car's aux jack. But even when my car's volume is cranked up, you can barely hear the audio. Apparently this has to do with new regulations to help people's hearing, but it's quiet to a ridiculous level, I can't hear my audio on the highway. It's fine for earbuds but not for other aux devices...

I purchased this adapter to use for connecting an audio cable to an Aux in port in a vehicle that does not support Bluetooth. It works as intended, but Apple should really consider their customer base when designing their phones and accessories. You would think that when you pay in excess of $1k for a phone that you wouldn’t have to get “nickeled and dimed” to death for accessories and a 3.5 mm stereo Audio jack should still be present in the phone (or the adapter included at the very least), but I digress. All in all, this adapter does as intended, but I do question reliability during regular usage. The jacket on the cable section of the adapter will wear out quickly as does with all Apple brand adapters with the infamous jacket deterioration and splintering. The jacket on the cable section of the adapter will wear out quickly as does with all Apple brand adapters with the infamous jacket deterioration and splintering. It is flimsy and kind of weak in construction. Not sure about its life cycle. I will probably be looking for a reasonable after market adapter that is better constructed for its purpose. I do recommend this item if it is a necessary purchase, but I am sure there are better options out there.
Solid USB-C to 3.5mm Headphone Jack adapter with a surprisingly good DAC/AMP decoder chip in it. For it's price the sound quality coming out is leagues ahead of other OEM rebadged adapters. Output is not the loudest, so don't use high impedance headphones or speakers with this device. Look up reviews of this dongle on Head-Fi or other reputable audiophile sites for a better idea of the sound.Mouse added for scale in picture.
Apple's audio dongle offers good value but has room for improvement. It still feels somewhat flimsy and lacks the sturdiness one would expect. The build quality could benefit from a more durable and woven design. Despite its shortcomings, the dongle performs adequately for its intended use. Hopefully, Apple will address these durability concerns in future iterations.
I bought this USB-C to 3.5mm Adapter a week ago and I was satisfied with the performance of the adapter. Worked wonderfully with an iPad Pro I borrowed for a little bit and found it able to output high volumes on regular earbuds, with the volume slider somewhere in the middle. Pretty much on par with the Lightning equivalent adapter that apple sells. Build quality is the same as the Lightning counterpart so no complaints there. However, the story somewhat changes when you use this on Android devices. It's still a really good adapter, however don't expect to get the volume too high, even with the slider maxxed out. It's still a really good adapter, however don't expect to get the volume too high, even with the slider maxxed out. Even with regular earbuds, I found that I had to crank the slider up to get relatively the same volume as the iPad, so much so that I had to go past the device's volume slider warning about loud sounds. Using this in my car's aux cord, I found that I maxxed out both the radio and slider and it wasn't loud enough, as in that you can still hear the road noise over your own music.Doing a bit of research, it does seem to be a universal issue with this adapter and Android devices, as the software in Android is not able to communicate with the adapter to output higher voltage to further increase the volume. In short, I recommend these if you are in the Apple Ecosystem as these will function wonderfully and pretty much will beat out Google's and Samsung's adapters, as some tests can be found on sounds quality comparison's through Google. If you plan on using these for Android's, I wouldn't 100% recommend these as the volume doesn't get loud enough. That being said, these are still usable as an adapter, but they aren't for me and I will most likely be exchanging these for Samsung's adapter as they are the next best thing from the sound quality comparison's I mentioned earlier.
I primarily use this in my car via an auxiliary cable through the radio. I have a pixel phone and have the Google version of this. I can tell why this one is cheap. The materials feel breakable when handled. The main difference I notice is quality compared to Google's version. I have to max out my volume on the radio to get any kind of loud play from my phone. I do also have the phone volume up, just to cover that. Also, there is a reduction in bass to the songs I am used to listening to. If you are doing calls, I'm sure it's fine unless you have a lot of road noise in your car. But now hearing the difference, not a good pick for music use.
