Purchased my first Apple Watch in December of 2022. I wanted this tool for the health tracking benefits it offers. As someone who isn’t really a Watch person I was a little on the fence. I can’t believe I waited so long to get one!The features this Watch provide have made such a difference in daily life for so many reasons. It’s like having a personal trainer, doctors office and personal assistant on your wrist.I will own an Apple Watch forever at this rate! I ordered the large wrist band and probably could have gone with the smaller one. I also ordered the smaller mm watch face and could have gone with the larger one. Though the smaller size is still totally workable and not bulky.

Disappointing.

So I mostly got this watch to keep track of day to day calorie burning and steps and to get an in depth analysis of any exercise I do. As someone who mainly uses the stepper in the gym, this watch is very good at monitoring heart rate and calories etc.Unfortunately if you are wanting to use this watch for jogging/running, my watch has really let me down. Part way through a jog it decided to change the exercise I was doing to a walk. This begins a whole new exercise recording and calories, distance, pace etc is all reset. Part way through that supposed walk, it turned it into a fresh new walking session. All while I'm happy jogging away thinking nothing is wrong. Only when I finished had I noticed that my jog had been split into 3 different exercise sessions ... MoreSo I mostly got this watch to keep track of day to day calorie burning and steps and to get an in depth analysis of any exercise I do. Excellent smart watch

Before this Apple Watch 8 45mm I had a series 6 40 mm Apple Watch. The battery life is much better on the Series 8. I usually charge it while I have a shower, that time is enough for a full charge thanks to the fast charging system. After 24 hour the battery level is around 50%. So one full charge is almost enough for two days. The original silicone band is great if I use it in the swimming pool but I bought another trail loop band for my watch. The trail loop is the most comfortable band I ever used. The Watch has crash detection feature which is great to have but hopefully I will never use it. In an emergency situation it would save life.I also love the Fitness Plus feature, it is a good motivation to keep my body in shape and be a little more healthier. The ... MoreBefore this Apple Watch 8 45mm I had a series 6 40 mm Apple Watch. The battery life is much better on the Series 8. Fitness tracking

I’d been a long time user of Fitbit but decided that I wanted to change to Apple as their adverts suggest better privacy protection of all your fitness data .I chose the smaller size watch and find this is perfect for me . I’m getting used to the change over from another make , so far it has been quite easy to use and I’m liking it .Likes include the watch face gallery choices and can’t wait for the new snoopy edition . The watch/app is easy to use and set up . You can also edit what data is shown on the watch face - I liked this feature a lot , also the workout tracking has lots of options . The battery lasts quite well if you turn off some of the features like always on , notifications and there is a low power mode feature, so if you’re away for maybe 2 days ... MoreI’d been a long time user of Fitbit but decided that I wanted to change to Apple as their adverts suggest better privacy protection of all your fitness data .I chose the smaller size watch and find this is perfect for me . Alternatively if you have every feature on expect to charge it each day but it does charge fairly fast .The only thing I was abit shocked about was, that as I’ve always predominantly tracked steps , I was surprised to find this isn’t standard on the Apple Watch and you have to add on another app ( Apple recommends a few and you choose) I choose pedometer++ , very easy to add and fits seamlessly into the Apple app/watchI’m already noticing that my activity has increased . I guess a new system has re-invigorated my fitness quest plus it’s a lovely tactile watch too and well designed like most Apple productsHappy with my purchase

Longer battery life, bigger screen, & great fitness tracking
6 April 2023

I had the Series 7 prior to this series 8 version. This version has much better battery life. I am a very active user and use the fitness tracking daily. I only charge my watch ever other day which is a vast improvement on the series 7. The screen is slightly larger on this model but it hasn't made the physical face any larger which I thought was good. It means it's easier to navigate the menus etc.Very happy with my purchase and I am finding I'm using my phone less and less because the watch can do most things! Apple Pay, Apple Music on the move, tracking my runs and bike ride routes, sending iMessages and texts (I find using Siri for that, really easy, helpful, and reliable)!

Pro - Bigger Screen & Better Battery Life / Con - Separate Purchases Required
22 November 2022

Great replacement, I had series 3 and I got to say big difference. Bigger screen and better battery life, I can go 2 days on single charge. Only cons I have is first one I hate it doesn’t include charging block, i have charging hub but doesn’t have c cable port. Now I have to purchase a charging block for this unit alone, I don’t get why Apple forces you to buy power adapter, watch ain’t cheap neither. Second wrist band is too small and can’t get correct fit either too tight or too loose, I’m using last loop on wrist band. I’m not a fan obviously if you’re pretty much obligated to purchase separate units which is required, Apple needs to come up with a solution. Not great gift if obligating user to purchase items which are needed and don’t know if they will buy ... MoreGreat replacement, I had series 3 and I got to say big difference. My first smartwatch. Finally got one because I went traveling. Got it in case I lost or broke my phone while traveling. Also got it for my summer job. I like it. I chose this model because of the always on display and fast charging. I don’t care for always on display on a cell phone but I like it a lot on the watch. It makes more sense to have it on the watch. I get two days on a full charge with always on display. Just had to tweek some settings. I’m really bummed though that they got rid of the Facebook messenger app on the watch. That’s a big L in my opinion. Can still get the notifications but can’t send messages on Facebook messenger because they got rid of that watch app. The watch is still fun. Very customizable. Very good water proofing. First off, I upgraded from a 2. I didn’t realize there had been so many changes and with my business I was distracted. My watch is crucial.I have personal issues with loud sounds so my phone ringer is always off. The haptic feature is perfect and the fact that Siri reads me all incoming messages immediately is very important. My hands are always busy and I’m listen to books or podcasts 4-6 hours a day.The health upgrades are astounding. People are amazed when I explain what the watch can do and for the first time I can track sleep. The watch charges back up in about 15 minutes every morning and evening so I can always be wearing it. If I can’t get away from technology at least I can limit it.

Thought long and hard.

Couldn't make my mind up which Apple Watch to buy. In the end I felt the top of range model was a bit too much to pay. Especially as this series 8 has basically everything except a sim. It connects to Wi-Fi whether I've my phone with me or not and does all I need and more. Apple Pay works brilliantly even when iPhone is left behind which I find really useful as I always pay with Apple Pay. I'm really happy with my purchase, maybe some time in the future I'll purchase a couple more straps as I'm not too keen on the one that came with my watch. Charging hasn't been a problem I just pop it on the charger each morning and by the time I'm washed and dressed it's fully charged. All in all a very satisfactory purchase and with the Brilliant J.L 2 year Warranty
