Zone Positioning Zone positioning offers significant advantages over traditional PIR sensors by monitoring rooms of up to 40m2 (ca. 430 sq ft), and dividing them into up to 30 zones. It is suitable for a practically endless variety of use cases based on the actual presence in each of such zones. Additionally, using just two conditions of “Presence” and “Absence” will make the automation configuration simpler than ever before. Multi-Person & Fall Detection he FP2 can simultaneously detect up to 5 people and trigger different scenarios and automation. Moreover, you can mount the FP2 on the ceiling and choose the Falling Detection Mode, which will detect and alert you through the app if someone falls. (Note: The FP2 is not a medical device, and can only be used for notification purposes) Multi-Ecosystem Support By implementing millimeter-wave radar technology, the FP2 provides a precise presence detection without producing false negatives, even for the slightest movements. On top of that, it is wearable-free and does not require a camera monitoring system, which ensures maximum privacy for users. Ultra-High Precision with More Privacy The FP2 is exposed as multiple sensors in HomeKit (and Home Assistant)*, Amazon Alexa, Google Home and Alice. You are able to integrate the sensor easily with no Aqara hub required, which is a good solution for smart home enthusiasts to expand your smart home setup. Built-In Light Sensor & Local Automations Additionally, the FP2 has a built-in light sensor, which provides greater flexibility and enjoyment when creating lighting automations (Only available in Aqara Home, HomeKit, and IFTTT). Moreover, automations of FP2 are executed without sending to the cloud and will keep working even if there is no internet connection.

I wasn't expecting much, but still it managed to disappoint me.- Installation method is unclear, the app does not do a good job guiding you through installation.- The app is poorly made, a very low quality and obviously Chinese app- It detects random moving stuff that don't exist, for example I was the only one in the living room but the app was detecting 6 people so none of the zones were getting proper presence detection.- When it works, it's too sensitive. I was making food in the kitchen and wasn't moving, and the device was turning the presence sensor on and off constantly and that was turning the kitchen lights on and off. Had to disable the whole automation.

The Aqara PF2 presence sensor is a promising device, but it falls short in a few key areas. The main problems I've experienced are unresponsiveness and false-positives. The sensor sometimes takes a while to detect presence, and it has even detected people in the room when there are none.I've tried everything to troubleshoot these issues, including changing the sensitivity level, calibrating the sensor, updating the firmware, and configuring the entry/exit zones correctly. Unfortunately, nothing has worked. I've even had to set up the device twice, because after the first week it unpaired from the Aqara app and showed a popup with Chinese characters. It still worked in Home Assistant, but I was no longer able to configure anything it in the Aqara app.Despite ... MoreThe Aqara PF2 presence sensor is a promising device, but it falls short in a few key areas. When it does work, it's a great way to automate your smart home devices. For example, you can use it to turn on the lights when you enter a room, or to turn off the TV when you leave.Overall, I'm disappointed with the Aqara PF2. It's a promising device, but it's too unreliable to recommend. If you're looking for a presence sensor, I would suggest looking elsewhere.
