Even if the network connection is ever interrupted, the detection function is not affected. Works with Apple Home etc.: This is the world's first battery-powered HomeKit Secure Video doorbell. Security with HomeKit Secure Video. Video analytics and notifications happen on your Apple devices, like iPad, phone, Apple TV. Everything is encrypted before being stored in Apple's iCloud. Moreover, it can realise the connection of audio and video with Google and Alexa and connect with Yandex Smart Home app to achieve automation.

Best doorbell ever. Have had Ring, Arlo, Grid Connect, Eufy etc and this is best by far. Very sleek looking too.

Apple HomeKit and Google friendly, big win. Solid build, nice design, good features. Still fairly new and hope to see improvements with firmware updates coming. Out of the box it is a workable unit with limited install instructions, be wary to follow to the letter (power up and setup the speaker first, not the doorbell).Doorbell/video scenario works well on app and Apple/Google homes. Runs on AA batteries or hardwired, not sure about how long battery’s last, but hazard a guess at least a month. Night vision is ok, daytime is clear. Mounting should be investigated as the wide view is only wide, floor won’t be covered if you’re after “parcel” views. Motion detection is buggy and possibly will be fixed soon, works if you are directly in its face. Loads of settings ... MoreApple HomeKit and Google friendly, big win. Currently only records 6sec of video and not sure how to lengthen this(?)…All in all I’m happy that no monthly fees apply to get full functionality, big win.

Super easy to set up in the Aqara app and HomeKit which is what I’m using. Very stable connection, I have paired it with a 128gb sd and hardwired power to get continuously recording. Fantastic value for money. Very happy indeed, the doorbell is a little larger than expected but doesn’t look too out of place. The chim is reasonably loud for its size but as it’s linked into HomeKit I can also set an automation to flash smart lights and play sounds through our smart speakers to notify us of a visitor.

It seems to wait until the person has been standing at your door for a second before finally notifying you, but I don’t know if that’s to do with the doorbell or with HomeKit. I’m using it in HK Only mode, so can’t review the Aqara app functionality itself. But so far I’m really enjoying having native HKSV compared to having to try and brute force non-HK compatible brands in like I was in the past.
I bought this to replace a Eufy doorbell that I’ve owned for 2 years. While the Eufy was excellent in motion detection and notification speed the 2 way talk was very laggy and half duplex. The Aqara G4 is MUCH faster in 2 way talk that it’s actual possible to have a conversation. The HomeKit notifications work well and if you hardwire it rather than run on batteries you can have a SD card inside the chime that allows 24/7 recording AND also have HomeKit secure Visio recording in the cloud. It’s an excellent video doorbell and highly recommended.
Works perfectly with Apple HomeKit and can run on Battery or Hardwired. Great purchase.
I cannot recommend this doorbell. It has stability issues (might be fixed in the future but so far very unreliable) and its landscape field of view is very inconvenient for a doorbell. You can’t see both people’s faces and packages on the floor. On most of porches 50% of the picture will be walls. Too bad because otherwise it’s a very high quality product as all Aqara devices
Worked straight up with HomeKit. Good quality video. The home base had to be moved closer to the doorbell. I have it within 2 metres now, whereas I had it in the kitchen and the base only had 60% signal. This was only about 5m from the doorbell. Other than that, I am happy with the doorbell. Good price considering how it works. Does have some false readings with cars but it may need some fine tuning. I like how I can shoo cats away with the speaker!
The connection with the Aqara app is fine but is not very reliable with Apple Home. On top of that, the receiver can't be more than 5 meters distant from the doorbell, which is very limited.
Simple. I live in the apple ecosystem and love the home integration. Basically it just works.
