Needs the ability to guard the intake against sediment and plants, but aside from that has relatively good flow for what it is.would like to see a longer extension for the spray bar.

A compact and efficient pump with filter and optional aerator.

An excellent filter, although a little difficult to reassemble after cleaning. The pump assembly is difficult to slide back on. And one must ensure to fit the filter housings the correct way round, as they will fit reversed, (Not a good design point). Also it is critical to ensure the pump rotor spindle is correctly seated in its bearings, as the pump is reassembled, otherwise the rotor will not spin and the motor may overheat. I have two, set up as aerators and filters, and they do a great job.

Great filter but flow too strong

I bought this filter according to Aqua One's chart but the flow was so strong it blasted the plants right out of the substrate and sent my fish flying and that was with the spray bar on. The 104F would be far better in a 6 foot tank or really tall build. It works way too well. I'm trying to resell it. Failing that I'll try and modify it. What ever the chart says, take a few sizes down.

Quiet and effective

Bought this filter as a replacement and have found it to be very quiet and effective for my 70lt fish aquarium. Easy to use with several assembly options and found it easy to adapt to my filtration system. Also has 2yr warranty. Would purchase again.

Useless

The filtration is not good. Very slow filtration. I mean very very slow. I bought another high designed filtration and capacity filter.

one problem is the power lead, where it enters the plastic case, the cable bends and breaks the power cable, the cable requires reinforcement, I filled the gap with silicon where the cable enters the pump casing. no more problem, with the one in use, the new one I have just bought will be done as well, before use.
