Aqua One Vac-A-Tanks are a self starting super siphon. The sediment of waste materials, including excrement, leftover food, and decaying plants, can accumulate in the gravel of your aquarium, leading to the release of toxic substances like ammonia into the water. With the Aqua One Gravel Cleaner 10", you can easily siphon water from the bottom of the tank, where it is most contaminated, for quick and efficient water changes. This device facilitates the process while maintaining effectiveness.

Exactly what was needed to make tank clean an easy efficient task. Great price and enables me to reach every corner of my large tank

'Didn't really work - didn't get a regular flow of water going. Worked a little bit pumping manually, but then part of the inside broke off. This was the first time using it. Ended up doing the water change with a container and a bucket. Waste of money. Don't normally write reviews, but I was *that* disappointed with this that I took the time to.'

'horrible. large opening and small outlet. i dont know who made these horrible designs but you get no adequate suction pressure out of it. you are better off using a garden hose. in fact, anything with a very large opening and a small outlet is not worth it. threw this straight in the bin. didn't even suck up the fish poo. Please please don't get this! Utter waste of money. I purchased this as a first time fish owner, thinking it would make water changes easier as I do weekly for my goldfish. The amount of effort it takes to get the syphoning to work is ridiculous, and it disturbs my fish far too much, agitating the water so aggressively. The size he was as a baby fish, we could've easily been sucked up by the tube too! After a couple uses (due to necessity) I ran to get a proper syphon and it's far better (and cheaper!). Don't waste your time and money unless you have a giant fish tank and large fish. I attempted to use it again recently after 10 months and it doesn't even work now.
Thought this was supposed to be easy to use. 10 mins no trying and following YouTube videos, emptying my tank using. Containers instead
Niche product - a deep and powerful aquarium syphon - difficult to find - thank you Pond Planet! I accidentally trod on and broke my previous identical syphon which was about 4 years old and good for many more years but for my clumsiness! Again, a very good product.
After you have beautifully arranged your aquarium if you use this it will mess it up. The instructions say you must vigorously move it up and down. I just want to empty some water out from the tank and not have an aerobic workout. Returned it.
Never bothered writing a product review before but this is so terrible I decided to. It's by far the worst designed product I've ever used in my life, I don't know why Pets at Home sells this rather than a normal, simple gravel vac. The hose is far too stiff so the end always comes out of the bucket and spills water all over the floor. It's almost impossible to get a syphon going and once you do the hose is so large it fills up the bucket in about 5 seconds, so you don't have any time to actually suction the gravel. Just an all-round awfully designed product. I just wish there was a rating lower than 1 star to give it!
This does not work. Hubby and I spent ages on it at the weekend. Now, reading the reviews I know it's not just us being thick! Well we tried to take it back but they wouldn't let us!!! Poor service.
Took a long time to get it to suction any water, when it did, it took 10 mins and a lot of work to get 1cm of water in the bottom of the bucket. It did not manage to suck up any dirt, but did really distress the fish and gravel moving around at random nearly buried a snail. It left the gravel a mess and lots of dirt floating around tank. Eventually gave up and did water change with jug, trying to get most of dirt, and left filter to get the rest. it does agitate gravel, but takes a lot of work and distresses fish. Probably best to agitate gravel by hand, as this is quicker, easier, and doesn't distress fish. I think using this product was worse than nothing.
