All Day Comfort - Durability - Packability

I've climbed in countless different harnesses from just about every major climbing company and this is by far the best harness I've climbed in. It is comfortable for all day use whether you're single pitch cragging or hanging at belays high off the ground.I've also found it to be more durable than some of the previous harnesses I've worn in the past. Where other harnesses start to fray and show signs of wear after only a couple months of climbing outdoors, this has managed to hold up incredibly well after almost a year of climbing in Yosemite, Moab, Tahoe, etc...Finally - I'm not one to count grams or be too concerned with weight, but the weight and packability of this harness is defined impressive. All in all, this is an exceptional, top of the line harness ... MoreI've climbed in countless different harnesses from just about every major climbing company and this is by far the best harness I've climbed in. I’ve been climbing for about 19 years and I’ve finally found the Perfect all round harness. My favorite features…. 1.Comfortable for hanging belay. 2. Super light compared to the BD big guns harness. 3. The front gear loop shape makes QuickDraws/cams slide forward for easier access.Love it for craging too! Soo good. Get your self a 395a

I've had this harness for over a year and its withstood multiple Yosemite bigwalls, trad climbs and more. Every last detail about this harness from the waist belt, gear loops and belay loop are well constructed and have held up to the abuse Yosemite granite puts on gear. I can rack my gear with confidence on the four gear loops and know my gear will still be there after climbing through chimneys. The belay loop is made of thick nylon and has shown little signs of wear after multiple hauls, belays and rappels. The highlight of this harness for me has to be the waist belt design and construction. The width and position of the waist belt allow for comfort while climbing or just hanging in the harness without any added bulk.

Decent, but not without flaws
19 July 2022

Bought this about a month ago, and was comfortable enough sitting in it in store. However, the back elastic could do with being about 3 inches more adjustable. The leg loops are constantly being pulled too high which is not unusable, but very uncomfortable at certain belay stances and after falls. It is a shame considering it would be such an easy fix for the manufacturing to make and takes nothing away from the safety. However, this will probably not apply to everyone, I'm 6'5 around 90kg with waist size of around 30-32. I also have pretty thunderous thighs, but the adjustable leg loops size great.Other features are satisfactory but not revolutionary, the thin waist and leg loop material does make things a little less sweaty, though not by much, and it is less ... MoreBought this about a month ago, and was comfortable enough sitting in it in store. Was glad to see the gear loops sit quite symmetrically for me, which isn't always guaranteed with single buckle waist belts. This harness isn't going to hold back your climbing, but it also isn't going to suddenly make sending any easier. Conclusion: maybe avoid if you're tall and dummy thicc, but otherwise a good do-all harness.

Excellent bit of kit

Just what I needed for my summer climbing. Mainly trad, and for that the harness is perfect. Great comfort, lightweight and compact when packed. Adjustability is great for the leg loops and I can get a perfect fit. Racking options are fantastic. This is so good, Im going to get another one in the size up for winter climbing.

Great All Around Harness, Light and Comfortable
1 November 2022

Picked this up earlier this summer and have over twenty days in it so far ranging from alpine peaks, multi-pitch trad routes and sport climbing. This is a really nice harness that manages comfort via a wide waist belt without the typical bulky padding found in other harnesses. Some reviews mention leg loop comfort issues but so far I haven't had any issues there including quite a few leaning and hanging belays. The gear loop design is great with ample space for a decent size trad rack. Useful hauling and personal gear strap in back and ice clipper loops add to the versatility.I've owned a lot of good, mediocre and downright bad harnesses over the years and this is definitely one of the best in terms of comfort and features vs weight and bulk. Light, Great Features, Limited Fit Adjustments
7 June 2021

Harness is light, packs down small, and the build quality seems great. More comfortable than most for hanging in. My only issue is that it's not tall enough. I'm 6' tall, 32" waist and the waist and leg loops fit pretty well. The issue is that webbing connecting the leg loops to the bottom tie-in point seem really short and can't be adjusted. The result is that when the waist and legs are properly adjusted they both pull on the belay loop causing the waist and leg loops to dig in. It's not that bad for a short gym session, but not great for a whole day. Arc'teryx recommends one "consider sizing up" if the harness isn't tall enough but the L starts at a 35" waist. I don't think I'm that much of an outlier in terms of body proportions. Seems a bit odd the M wouldn't ... MoreHarness is light, packs down small, and the build quality seems great. Light, High Performance, Very Comfortable
5 July 2022

I actually have two of these harnesses, one in the retail olive green and one of these LEAF in batman black. Both have virtually no padding, but don't seem to need any; they are perfectly comfortable, unless I guess you were hang-dogging for a while. Since I have never been in that position, I can't provide feedback. But being belayed and lowered, you are scarcely aware of having it on. FWIW: the buckles on the waistband and thighs are super easy to adjust. My harness needs are taken care of for the foreseeable future, unless ArcTeryx comes up with something disruptively novel.

Worth the price point

This harness is bomb dot com. I highly recommend this to anyone looking for an all around harness to do everything in. I ice climb, sport climb, and am planning on pick up trad climbing very soon. This harness fits the bill and does the job for it all.I'm a size 32 waist (sometimes 31, sometimes 33 depending on the product/brand) and the medium harness fits me perfectly. There's plenty of room for it to adjust around jackets and hardshell pants when I'm ice climbing as well. I have thicker (thicc-er?) legs too, and I haven't wished the leg loops to be bigger. The gear loops are by far my favorite of any harness I've used and observed. The plastic makes the loop rigid, but the webbing where it connects is loose allowing for great flex of the loops when climbing and letting your gear hang naturally. I also appreciate the "v" shape of the gear loops. I feel that it holds my draws in a specific formation and they slide down in a consistent manner.Only down side to this harness is that it doesn't have any sort of mesh or soft material to help it breath, but at the end of the day, if it's hot, and you're sweating, it's not going to matter too much.

Yay! Finally A Joyful Colorway!
17 July 2023

Well, when I go ahead and buy a new one of these in Serene Blue, it will be the 4th in my gear chest. I have the Tatsu, the LEAF Black, Red & Black and now Blue. Needless to say, I love, love, love this particular harness. It's light enough you forget you have it on; yet it's as tough as any other harness on the market. Plus, you can use it across virtually every climbing specialty. Let's hope when this colorway sells out quickly that ArcTeryx gets the message that people really DO care what they look like at the crag and above.
