I’ve had these LD 3s since they first came out. I can last all day in these (including all day on the concrete jungle of Disneyland). My feet usually hurt at the end of the day in just about every other shoe. These are a great width too, not too narrow. I think Arc’teryx nailed this gen of LDs.

Love these shoes. I have clocked over 500kms in these puppies this summer and fall, through a mixture of trail running and multiday backpacking trips. Provides great comfort, grip, and stability. When I am hiking I am usually carrying 40lb - 50lbs of camera equipment and do 20-30km/day. My feet are never sore or uncomfortable. Never had a blister either.

I tried these out on a 2-day, 30-km hike. I can already see the glue that holds the upper together coming apart and parts of the exterior are spalling. They're comfortable, but flimsy and look like they'd be trashed after a couple weeks worth of trail use. Stick to the sidewalk with these. Would not recommend.

I'm currently on my second pair of these trail shoes, and they have become my go-to option for all-around trail running. I've even used them on mellower mountainous runs and a few 50k races. Initially, I was unsure about the extra amount of cushioning these shoes provide, but I've come to appreciate the comfort they offer, especially on longer days out on the trails. The grip and lugs on these shoes are impressive, as they transition seamlessly from muddy and rooty terrain to snowy surfaces and vice versa.
Very pleased with the Norvan Ld3. Similar fit to Brooks Ghost/ Glycerine with great traction. I've been wearing them virtually every day for everyday use, road running, and light trail running for 6 months now. As with any shoe they won't fit everyone, but if they do fit, you'll be happy with performance. I'll buy again.
These are the first shoes I have got from Arc'teryx, as normally they fit quite narrow on me. However, these are a bit wider and fit perfectly for my wide feet. I also normally wear more minimalist shoes however will swap to a more cushioned shoe during long ultras, so the LD 3 are perfect for this. They are also still super lightweight. I also love the blue colour and that you can tuck away the shoelaces in the shoes tongue.
Love the new Norvan 3. More cushion and room overall, compared to the Norvan 2, although I like the 2 as well. Love the color and the grippy sole. Being able to store the laces in the little pouch is great - especially when I commute to work on my bike. Really loving these new shoes. Keep up the good work - Arc!
Had these shoes for about a year, and really like them for trail runs. Very breathable without the gortex. Please Arc’teryx….. don’t tinker with these. Keep the same shape and use the same materials. You like to tinker, but leave this model as is and turn it into a staple in the running world.
I take gear reviews with a grain of salt and that all depends on how hard people use their shoes in certain types of terrain and foot shape anatomy.Recently had a pair of Norda 001 stolen but did not want to spend the premium price on another pair because it's $100 more. Decided to give the Norvan LD 3 a try. True to size with my foot shape, compared to going half size up to the 001. The cushion is on par with the 001 and feels better than most max cushion shoes out there even though the LD 3 is not max cushion. Toe box is generous, but Altra and Topo Athletic wins the game in that category. I usually get heel slippage but this shoe keeps my heel sucked in and secured without having to use the extra eyelets. Nice gusseted tongue although but it does get hot. Nice gusseted tongue although but it does get hot. It is more road friendly due to the moderate traction and the lugs are good for most terrain and I can get away with the traction in high alpine terrain, scree and other rough stuff. Look elsewhere if you prefer aggressive tread. Great for the long haul with a smooth stride. You can certainly go fast and hard although I prefer the SL for that purpose. The LD 3 hits the sweet spot for me and it's a great looking shoe for casual wear. Please make an all white with green laces please! It'll be a banger! I do wish there was a similar shoe that is more breathable and drainage for the hot and wet days.
I have owned Norvan LDs from all three generations - LD1, LD2, LD3, All three shoes broke after light and fairly short use (between 6 months and 1 year) at the exact same spot - where the upper mesh is attached to the lower part of the shoe.Arc'teryx makes great clothing, and I own many pieces that are still like new - many many years after I bought and used them. But venturing into shoes seems like a mistake, as Arc'teryx does not seem to have the expertise here. I would suggest to stick with what the company does best (awesome pieces of clothing), but leave shoes to companies that really know what they are doing (Salomon, Merrel, La Sportiva etc etc).
