The orange is sublime. As pictured. Great, warm, packable, lightweight and more layer-able than the 2023 version (color boxcar). The 2024 (orange, green) are shorter yet the website did not mention the shorter fit. It fits much better under the revised BETA AR jacket and make is a strong contender for very cold weather. Arcteryx hopefully can clarify the difference in length? Sizing is the same. True to size.

OBSESSED with this jacket. Got it in the boxcar colour and it's this beautiful neutral greenish - I plan on wearing it with my snowpants in moonlit for that effortless neutrals mismatch look *chef's kiss*. The cut is great on me - 5'4'' 120lbs for reference. MAY be short if you are tall or have a long torso - would go for the other version. Got this to wear on mornings when I want to run commute back from work to have a packed but warm layer for canadian winter. Have not tried it in very cold canadian days but seems promising thus far ! Honestly this boxcar colour may be my all time favorite it is STUNNING but does appear lighter on photos (is slightly darker in real life).

I primarily use this jacket walking around a college campus, I enjoy the pockets, I was surprised by how soft and warm the interior pockets felt. The pocket detail, while small, makes a world of difference, especially as I prefer to not wear gloves around campus. I honestly don't know what to think of this brand anymore. 6 days to process a single-item order makes me rethink my purchase decisions. A company of your size should have fulfillment processing down to a science.I used to love this brand. The quality seems to disappoint these days -- - repeatedly. The fit and finish of the products leave something to be desired and a dissatisfied customer.Normally I don't putforth the effort for a review, but this is long overdue.
Great jacket for casual everyday use or for trips in the cold. Able to wear on a casual fall/winter day; jacket is well insulated and stays warm. Also comes with a pouch where the jacket packs quite small to; nice for trips where you need to save space when packing. Also has many pockets on the inside and outside (with zippers) which is good for storing many items
Lightweight it was without compromising warmth was true. I was shocked when I first held the jacket thinking this wouldn’t be the puffer warmth I was looking for but it really did the job! My top half is never cold when wearing this and I do get cold easily so I’m happy about that. Appreciated that it wasn’t too puffy, all the pockets and colour choice available. I got the bitters colour and love the two-tone for subtle added interest and it fits true to size. Im 5’3” and 100lbs and got an XS. Good to layer underneath still if desired. Though I got this also because I liked the length, I am considering the longer version now for my lower half…
Bought this in the fall and have worn it literally everyday since! Loved the shorter cut; not too short that my under layers stick out, but short enough to allow for movement. It was perfect for my -20 Canadian winters and under another jacket for our -50 days. I still wear it in the warmer weather with just a t-shirt under, super versatile. Also works great as a raincoat when needed, the water just ROLLS off. Packs up snug into the bag, which makes for a perfect airplane pillow ;)
Love this jacket! Got it as a substitute for my Cerium SV, as I had to retire that jacket. There is no Cerium SV anymore but this jacket is a great replacement. The outer material is much tougher than the Cerium SV so you can actually wear the Thorium on its own.I wear it around town, and it’s a great looking city jacket. The length is a little bit shorter than the Cerium and that is exactly what I wanted as well (much better looking).I bought it as an under for my skiing shell jacket, but I will definitely be using it for much more than that. Great purchase overall.
Some photos of the Thorium show it covering the top portion of the bum, this is false. The jacket has the warmth I expected, but can not be used for any activities. Soon as you lift arms even half way, the jacket lifts and shows your midsection. And I'm only 5'3. Ordered one for my mom at the same time, she is 5'0, and same thing - very short and no bum coverage. Disappointed because of the price. I was hoping to use it while skating, hiking, taking the dog to throw the ball... But this is only good for a walk maybe. I have many arcteryx jackets, none of them this short. Still wearing my cerium for activities because it's much longer. Quality is perfect, as expected from Arcteryx. Just the length is a major disappointment. Glad it has an inside pocket with zipper (though I don’t love that there’s a pack to stash the jacket in there stored in the inner zipped pocket, makes it less useful to me.) Major downside and reason to not purchase is the coat is way too short—any regular sweater/base layer is sticking out under the coat. Looks goofy, and my bare back is often popping out touching my cold car seat as my sweater rides up with the short coat. I’m 5’6” and have 34” legs—I have a short torso and this thing is still too short for me.
