Arches WC paper is great! It takes color well, and is durable for multiple layers of glazing or lifting paint back out. The block makes it convenient to paint right on the block, somewhat eliminating the need to stretch your paper. Highly recommended!

Maybe best explained as a hard smooth surface. The paper accepts, with patience, layers of glazing as well as details.
I was very disappointed in the block. As soon as I got the hot press paper wet, it buckled. I wound up removing the sheets and stapling them to a board. I will not buy the block again.
I've been using this paper for years, so I already knew how high quality it was. Joe's offers it at a reasonable price and it comes packaged well. No damage, bending, etc at all during shipping. I will definitely be reordering in the future.
I love this block of hot press water color paper. It doesn’t fold on you and then it’s easy to remove the painted on paper and start anew. Cheap Joe’s never disappoints.

I have only a few American Journey paints so far & love them all. They seem to be loaded with pigment & Red Hot Mamma is no exception. Have always loved Arches hot pressed paper. Perfect for my current style. Unable to add photo as technically challenged!
