I took a gamble based on all the other reviews - which were spot-on. The label that comes with the belt says it is 43", the belt is actually 40.5", and website shows 41.7". All three could be right? At first, I ordered the medium last week. It showed up and wrapped about 1.5 times around my waist - holy cow, the thing was long. I have several of these in different widths and colors. I also have the Patagonia webbed belts and a few others. These do not slip or fray. The only reason not 5 stars is that the plastic end is difficult to feed into the buckle. I've learned to work around that by putting on very loose and tightening. All the other webbed belt brands slip, which defeats purpose of a belt. This one wins, so save your money and buy these only. They need to tweak the end thickness for 5 stars.

Recommended.
I bought this at my local Arcteryx outlet and while the materials and build are high quality, the buckle/tightening system is garbage. No matter how tightly you pull it while fastening, you will always get way too much slack at the end. Even if I hold the buckle in place while pulling the belt through the buckle, and even if it stays tight to the last few inches of pulling, it completely loses its tightness at this point and really just fails to function as a belt. If I'm having trouble doing this multiple times in my own home, it'll only be harder on a winter backpacking trip I'm taking soon. I'm less upset considering I got it at outlet prices, but really, this belt doesn't do it's one job well, so don't buy it.
I bought this to replace a patagonia tech web belt that I lost during travels. The arcteryx belt has a nice hard plastic tip, is a little thinner in width, and has sizing options. The patagonia belt is a little wider, is one size fits all, and has no tip. I guess if you want less belt length hanging off after you fasten it, you would cut the excess length off and melt the end to keep it from fraying. The patagonia belt has a integrated bottle opener buckle which I really like. The arcteryx belt does not. Both belts have a little bit of slip to them as they are fastened by friction. The arcteryx probably fastens a little tighter, but it’s not a huge difference. In the end, I probably like the patagonia one a little better because of the bottle opener, but it’s not a huge difference.

I'm glad I ordered a small, because it fits my 32" waist great, and has continued to fit as I've gained a few pounds and hence another inch or so on my waist. It started out really stiff, but over the course of a year or so it broke in pretty well and is almost too flexible, but not quite. It doesnt slip or stretch at all, which is good because I can use it for a concealed carry holster (Shield Plus 9mm in a Galco KingTuk IWB) in a pinch. I'm about to order a medium to better accommodate my current waist + holster circumference. This conveyor belt and fabric protrudes so far from the buckle that when you sit down the top portion of the belt constantly rubs the internal side of your shirt. I've had three shirts; 2 lacoste and one Arcteryx Remige hoody totaling nearly $200 get ruined by this $30 belt. I didn't realize what was causing it to be ruined but realize all 3 shirts had holes in the exact same spot where the belt comes in contact with the inside part of the shirt! Not part of warranty and wouldn't even replace my new Remige Hoody that the belt ruined. Wearing any seatbelt or waist hiking bag buckle over your shirt is where the problem starts I think. So just don't drive in a car or do any outdoor activity if you decide to wear this belt! I was recently traveling for work and found myself committed to a casual dinner. I had only packed scrubs so I needed proper pants (shorts if we're being honest) and a belt. Grabbed this Arc'teryx belt from the local co-op in Medium as I have a 33" waist. This belt is probably a good 10" too long. I can't get a handle on the loose end of the belt. It worked for that evening but I will be returning it for a Small size as soon as it's convenient.Aside from that, I like it a lot. It's stiffer than some web belts, which I like. Makes holding certain items on your waist a little easier. Looking forward to enjoying it more once I exchange it.
Given how great every single product is, this belt is well below-par. Indestructible for sure, but it doesn't hit the mark for ease of use. It's a belt, it should take a matter of seconds to secure it and unsecure. The plastic cap on the end barely fits through the buckle, so it's a small battle to put it on, and nearly impossible to adjust tightness to fit your waist without holding the entire buckle down against your body. It requires far more dexterity and concentration than any other belt I've ever used. For such a great brand with such a great reputation for products, very disappointed such a simple item such as a belt misses the mark entirely.
