Bought this after years of hearing hype…for $70 I am incredibly disappointed. What is this material? It pills and within a few weeks there were dozens of threads coming undone. I usually love Arcteryx pieces but I think this beanie is only worth it if you are buying cheap second hand. Incredibly disappointing quality.

Purchased Habitat/Light White color way as well as Light Velvet Sand/Black Sapphire. I’ve used both equally amounts of times and take care of them as well. I only wear them around the city and absolutely love the design, I’ve received a lot of compliments on that toques. However, for some reason the Habitat color way toque is already falling apart, nothing too serious but this is only after 2 months of use! I really expected more from these toques and they’re very soft and comfortable. But still, it’s hard to overlook the facts that it’s already unraveling more and more each month. I’d like to say this is a fluke since it has only happened with one and not the other but just be advised before you purchase.

Loose threads and pilling started showing only after a few wears. And I only wore it to and from the ski resorts, I always take it off when I put on my helmet. My friend thought I’ve been wearing it for months....after wearing it for longer period of time, I find that it started to lose it’s shape too. It’s become quite loose and the fold of the rim wouldn’t stay nicely. The design looks great, but the quality is quite poor for this price. My $50 beanie took a much worse beating and still looks brand new.
I made a lot of Arc’teryx store employees happy when I returned this hard-to-find hat (purchased in the gorgeous Velvet Sand color.) Despite the prior reviews stating quality wasn’t great, I wanted to see for myself. Sadly they were right. I wanted to keep this but couldn’t justify a $50 beanie when my $12 ones also looked cool in other ways, didn’t have any stray yarns, and also kept me warm. I hope next year’s version addresses this quality issue.
Long time fan of the Grotto Toque. Sadly they have consistently gone downhill in quality over the last 3 years. The ones that I've purchased this year had many loose threads right out of the bag. The fit and thickness of the toque has also changed significantly. What once was a well-fitting and robust hat is now an cheap feeling, poorly sized hype piece. Consider waiting till next season for this one.
Bought this about one month ago. Love the arctic silk colorway. At first loved the hat and hoped some of these reviews would not apply, however after one month of wear (realistically have worn this hat no more than a handful of days) the threads are loose and the quality is poor.
Got this as a gift and after the first wear I noticed loose threads already coming from the beanie. Didn't snag it on anything so I was shocked. For a $70 beanie I was not expecting this poor quality. I've owned a Grotto toque from 2019, it was less expensive back then and better quality. I also tried to get it warrantied but they said they couldn't do anything to replace it. Do not buy!
I am super disappointed with this toque. I finally decided to get one and I cannot believe how bad it looks after only a few times wearing it. The material is comfortable but, it is fraying and falling apart in less than a week.This is a lot of money to ask for a toque. I would certainly not recommend it.
I bought this beanie this year and it’s to say I will never have to buy another one. It is one of the most comfortable and warmest beanies I’ve ever owned. I would recommend this for anyone. I wear this beanie every. Graduation, the birth of the first born son, signing the deed to my house, my parents funeral, first day of work, last day of work and my own funeral. This beanie is that good!
